Great ambiance and great eats! First, the menu has clear labels for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free. I got the vegan and GF Bún Chay and I could not put my chopsticks down! I was so full at the end but still could not wait until the next time I could eat here. We also got the salad rolls as an appetizer which were surprisingly delicious for a simple roll. They have a full bar, so we enjoyed a beer and a Moscow mule. Our server was pretty quirky and the interior was trendy. Heading thru downtown Cincy and traffic was bad. Decided it was time to get my Pho on. This place was highest rated in the area. Great menu, amazing drink selection (including Bourbon) but the Pho was ok. If I could give 3.5 I would. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't blow me away either. One of the top ways I judge my pho is how deep I go into the bowl BEFORE I start doctoring it up with all the condiments. When I'm slurping down half the bowl of just the broth, I know I've found something great. This, again, was good but didn't blow me away. On a recent trip to Cincinnati.. we were looking for something different to eat. This place popped up several times during my search. Since we were going to go to Findlay Market anyways, we decided to try it. The store is very clean and inviting. We were sat quickly and greeted by our waiter in a timely manner as well. The menu was very clear and had lots of good options. They don't have a kid's menu, but there is a chicken pho that's pretty straightforward for a picky eater. The food was all very good. My favorite item was definitely the spring rolls. They were SO GOOD. Overall, the great service and the yummy food makes this place a must if you're looking for some Vietnamese. read more

Food here was excellent! It came out super quickly and the waiter was attentive. The pho tai nam broth was full of flavor and had plenty of meat and noodles. It came with the usual sides - thai basil, jalapenos, lime, and bean sprouts. There was also hoisin sauce and sriracha available on the table. It definitely hit the spot! The banh mi bo nuong was delicious. The bread was probably the best part about it. It was so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. It held up well throughout eating the sandwich. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 First time at Pho Lang Thang, and won't be my last. I wanted to check out the restaurant and get the full measure of what they were about. They have draft beers as well as some bottle choices and wine by the glass and bottles. Also specialty drinks and a well stocked bar. I started with a glass of Jovino Pinot Noir and an appetizer of the crispy spring rolls. They were very fresh and had a delightful crunch . I had a rare wagyu beef Pho Bowl, which had condiments on the side that you could add if you wished. The broth was full-bodied flavorful and not overly salty. And the noodles were fantastic. I probably should have stopped there because I was full but I had to try one of the ba mis, I chose the crispy beef and was not disappointed. But quite full. Cannot say how good the Banh mi was. Exceptional. Located in a busy street with street parking. The whole area was great for shopping. Parking might be a pain. Coming to the food, we got 1. Cha Gio (4/5) 2 fried spring rolls. The liquid sauce was very nice. 2. Chao Ga (5/5) it was very nice. A must try. 3. Poached chicken Salad (4/5) The crunchy stuff at the bottom was a bit hard and the salad had a pickling flavor to it. It was presented well. 4. Got the Pho Bo (5/5) great flavor and the add ons elevated the dish. Be careful the jalapeños are super spicy. 5. Banh Mi Dac Biet (5/5) Fantastic flavor. Have heard so many good things about this place, so finally checked it out on a Friday afternoon with a friend. I had the vegan fresh spring rools with peanut sauce and for the entree we each had a large bowl of Pho Bo Vien (beef noodle soup with rare beef and brisket.We spiced up the bowl of pho with Sriracha sauce, soy sauce and hoison sauce. That was enough to fill me up. We also shared a bottle of wine.The heat level was pretty good so my scalp itched and I sweated a lot, but it was good. Our server was friendly and attentive.Stopped by Findlay Market afterwards for a couple take out items. Nice place to meet with friends for lunch or dinner and do some FM shopping. Right on the streetcar line and there is a parking lot several blocks away on Elder and elsewhere. read more

Coffee & spring roll are the reason I give to this restaurant. Because they are good. Otherwise I will give ZERO We ordered a small & a large Rare & Meatball but they forget the meatball. After asking & waiting , they gave 4 pieces of meatballs but my bowl was small & my husband was large. So it means small bowl just have 1 piece ??? I tried to tell the waitress that both 2 bowls didn't have but she doesn't want to listen. They didn't apologize for it. They put the meatball on the table and walk away. They gave us bad veggie, old and black basil. When I ask new veggies, they said "all veggies are the same ". If they don't know how to keep veggies fresh, they shouldn't give it to customers. One of the better places to get pho in Cincinnati. After moving here, my partner and I struggled to find a decent pho place that we enjoy. However, I will say this may be one of the best ones in the area. Food comes out hot and fresh and the taste is great! The restaurant is open and very quick. The restaurant felt busy, but was overall a chill vibe. I would recommend this place if you're looking for great service and great food right across from Findlay Market! read more

A cute little Vietnamese cafe in OTR - I've been here a few times with friends as sometimes driving to Westchester for good pho is quite the trek. The pho is okay - the broth is on the sweeter side and the noodles are always over cooked and clumped together at times. I will say their chicken pho is much better and I plan to opt for that in the future. Though I probably will be back only if friends wanna check it out. read more

One of our favorite places when we visit Cincinnati. This was our first time at their new location. It's much larger and modern than their old place. The food is still terrific. The pho has a lot of noodles and high quality meat, the broth is superb. Good, quick service. read more

We love this place for our weekend lunch walks to Findlay market. The fresh rolls are perfect for a hot summer day. We hadn't been to the new space since it re opened and it's gorgeous! Beautiful bar and lots of seating for all group sizes. We ordered the veggie fresh rolls, the cold noodle salad and tofu banh mi sandwich. All were delicious and will be ordered again. The peanut sauce accompanying the fresh roll was nice and thing and flavorful. The Mayo in the banh Mi sandwich really ties everything together. We also really appreciate there was sriracha, hoisin sauce and soy sauce ready at every table. read more

Stopped by here for the Vietnamese coffee soft serve and was not disappointed. Lang Thang Whip is located right next door to the Pho Lang Thang restaurant. It's a little nook that was formerly used as a walk up window. The staff was great and the whip was even better. read more

When you're in the mood for pho, this is the place for you! Amazingly flavored broths and plenty of options for everyone. I usually crave pho in the colder months but this hit the spot in the middle of summer. Super friendly staff! The cocktails are also delicious--the lychee martini is flavorful and quite strong. This is our GO TO place when we are looking for some good soup. We have been going here since they were a smaller business and we still go here. The pho here is so good and very authentic. We also get the Com Tam Ga Nuong (Chicken) which is essentially a chicken and rice plate that is very yummy. The serving size is very good. The best appetizers personally I think are the egg rolls and the chicken wings. read more

I was passing through Cincinnati from Nashville to Toledo & stopped by this place for lunch. Oh my word it's so good! I ordered the pho with brisket and rare steak. They are generous with their meat portions, the broth is both savory and fresh, The restaurant itself is really cool with a fun atmosphere. Love the colors and decor. I've been hiding under a rock because I can't believe I've never been here before.This place was AMAZING! When we got there it was packed but we were seated pretty quickly seeing as they were short staffed that day. The foooood was soo good.We started with a few appetizers a few rolls(I got the ones with shrimp and pork as pictured). We arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation for five. They promptly seated us, and because it was happy hour for another 10 minutes or so, our server suggested apps and drinks. We did both (wings, vegan salad rolls, and lychee martinis. We were especially happy with the lychee martinis because our place back home took them off their menu about a year ago). We all had soup (vegan pho, chicken soup, and two meat pho). Our dishes were excellent. Even the kiddo who has a difficult time trying new things loved his. Great food. Great service. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese pho that's good, don't come here. If you're asian, don't come here. Brought my family from out of town here to enjoy some pho but left disappointed. The pho literally had no flavor. When we complained to the waitress, they even agreed that the pho here is americanized stating that they don't put fish sauce in it because people complain about the fishy smell. At this point don't even call it pho. Also I do not recommended the specialty sodas. We got the dragonfruit soda, which tasted like diabetes and the xi muoi soda which tasted bitter. We complained and only got the sodas removed from the bill, we still payed full price for 3 overpriced bowl of pho totaling to around $50. Which is ridiculous. Only thing that was good was the bánh mì but how can you mess up a bánh mì? Would have been super disappointed if y'all mess this up too. I don't understand how this place had good reviews. Overpriced. Americanized. read more

Pho Lang Thang began like many restaurants do, people missing food from their youth, brothers Bao and Duy Nguyen, along with friend David Le, wanted to bring pho, banh mi, bun and other classic Vietnamese staples to the Cincinnati area, just as the city's culinary renaissance was beginning to take off. They set up shop in a cozy corner space in the heart of Over-the-Rhine's historic Findlay Market. Here they found a quick audience, routinely overflowing the tiny space, gaining new fans weekly, and even appearing on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Eventually PLT outgrew the space and relocated around the corner to Race Street.

We were very unclear who was serving us as two or three people asked if we wanted drinks and then we saw hardly anyone after we said no. Our food took 45 minutes to be served with no updates from a server or apologies for the wait, despite other tables (who came in after us) around us being apologized to and getting food before us. My breakfast poutine was also sub-par today, the egg was forgotten and brought out several minutes later, overcooked and rubbery. Normally we have a great experience here but today just really missed. We would have been more understanding if there were an ounce of communication but if our food had arrived 5 minutes later we would have left before it arrived (we just had waters at that point since we did a lot of drinking for the holiday last night). Will be interested to see if our experience stays consistent in future visits. And I really hope our experience wasn't just because we opted out of bar drinks today.

Delicious! I love a good lemongrass dish and Pho Lang Thang has it. The rice vermicelli with chicken is what I always get. It is a cold noodle dish and it never misses. The salad rolls are good, but they would taste so much better with a sweet chili sauce, rather than the bland peanut hoisin dipping sauce served with it. I have heard there is always a wait, but I have never experienced it. I suppose living downtown means that I always get their at more convenient times rather than Findlay Markets busiest days. The staff if always friendly and happy to answer any questions about the menu. They offer outdoor seating, at times, which consists of 5-gallon buckets flipped upside down for seating, metal garbage cans also flipped upside down, with a piece of plywood on top for the tabletop.
