This spot is located right in downtown and features a pretty limited menu, which makes ordering easy. We got our food super quickly, and seated ourselves. The ambiance is very casual. I got the pork bún (vermicelli noodle salad) and the portion was very large! It also came with two spring rolls on top. My friend ordered the pho--the soup was very sweet for pho broth but not bad. Overall, this is a good spot to grab a quick and filling lunch for a decent price. read more

If you are looking for a good pho place, this is it!! My friend and I were wondering downtown and stumbled upon this place. Their menu is very simple and not very large but everything looked incredible. We both order pho and was happy with our decision. The broth is flavorful and the meat and noodles were cooked well. This is a place where you order at the counter and they call your name when the food is ready. The restaurant was cute but not much seating available. Would come back!! read more

I haven't been here in awhile. The sandwich was tasty but smaller than I recall. In the past, I would save half. The online ordering was weird. I didn't see the pho option but you could add on. The regular ingredients were not what I received and had no noodles. read more

Wow the flavor is unreal... makes pho lang thangs broth taste like sock water... Everything in this Pho is fresh as it comes! Also had the Spring rolls that are in fact made in house, not that frozen panda sh*t!!... not to mention the price, QUALITY ingredients, great portions at a reasonable price!!!... Cheap, quick, and yummy. The perk spot for a downtown lunch. Everyone was nice and I didn't feel crowed or rushed.

Place was 80% full and had a very little wait to order. Food was excellent and delicious! I walked in, ordered and had my food within 5 min. I ordered the Vermicelli Bowl and Fresh Spring rolls. Everything tasted fresh my total was $19. read more

This place was on my list of places to try for a while and finally had the chance today. It was pretty crowded during their lunch rush but the line for ordering was pretty quick. By 1:30pm they had already ran out of pho so you can imagine how many people enjoy their food. The pho was good overall but the broth was on the sweeter end for my liking. They offer 3 of the fried spring rolls versus the traditional 2 which is a plus but the sauce for spring rolls is a sweet sauce instead of the traditional fish sauce which is a nice twist. There's a few tables and seating inside but it fills up fast with the lunch rush. The prices were reasonable and you get a good amount of food for the price. read more

My favourite spot for lunch in downtown!! They are fairly close to my office. So I always go to Saigon Subs and Rolls for lunch! They only open at lunch time and it's always packed. I would recommend to calling in and order your food and take out. It's not a big place, they do have few tables for people to dine in. 1. Beef Pho (4/5) Love the texture of the noodles. Soup base is amazing too! But the beef cooked too long sometime. 2. Bahn Mi (3/5) I ordered a pork banh mi. It's average but they do have a lot of meat and veggie in it! If you want a quick lunch/snack, this's your pick!! 3. Spring roll (4/5) I ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls. It came with 3 rolls for $6. It taste good and the spring rolls are super crispy! 4. Rice dish with beef (3/5) It's a marinated beef with rice and side veggie. The beef is little too sweet imo. read more

Great prices and fresh food. Service is fast and the employees are very kind! I would recommend this location for all Asian food lovers.

Went there for lunch today. It was delicious. Food was hot and plentiful. Will try it again for sure.

Food is consistently good and service is fast. Atmosphere is calm and friendly. Great lunch spot.

A couple of coworkers had recommended Saigon Rolls and Subs for lunch, and I decided to try it. The result was rather mixed, but optimistic. The storefront restaurant was very clean, both inside and out. They were VERY crowded at the time, which is always a very good sign to me. Although there was one person in front of me, the woman behind the counter took care of her in friendly, speedy fashion. When my turn came, she was just as friendly and courteous. She handed me the food, (Vegetable Pho with Chicken), and I was on my way. The Vegetable Pho smelled wonderful and familiar, as when I would eat it Downtown in my youth. The vegetables and noodles tasted terrific. The broth was salty and the chicken was a bit bland. Unfortunately, after I finished my Pho, I had gotten one of the worst headaches I've had in a long time. Overall, (besides the headache), I don't feel like Saigon Subs and Rolls is a bad place. In fact, I would eventually like to try it again, with a different meat and possibly lower salt. read more

Saigon Subs and Rolls - The Vegetable Pho with Chicken smelled fantastic! - Vietnamese Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Good food, but a few misses. The tofu banh mi had nice flavor. The tofu tasted like it had five spice powder on it, which I enjoyed. The vegetables were crisp and had a nice zing of vinegar. The construction of the sandwich could have been much better though. Both ends were just bread, and the vegetables and tofu were stacked on top of each other, so when you eat the sandwich you have to choose between a bite that's all veg or all tofu. As others have mentioned, the vegetables are sliced fairly coarsely, so these are very contrasting bites of soft tofu or crunchy vegetable sticks. (Also, the roll is not crisp like a baguette, but does taste good and holds together well.) The tofu spring rolls (the fresh kind, not fried) had good flavor, but also weren't consistent from bite to bite. The bites with mint were nice and flavorful, but that was about 50% of the roll. The other parts had no mint and were markedly less enjoyable. Judicious distribution of the herbs would bring these from 6/10 to 9/10. The dipping sauce is tasty, but it does lean towards sweet over umami. The iced tea is also good, but also a bit sweet. Less sugar and/or a darker roast would add some nice bitterness. One star is lost for the misses in food. Despite there being a few misses, they are all easy to fix and all the pieces are there for the food to improve. The other star lost is because this store's primary product is plastic. Plastic bags, plastic cups, plastic straws, styrofoam containers, styrofoam cups. It feels like they'd have plastic napkins if they could. Please stop defaulting to packaging that will outlive your great grandkids. Even if the food was perfect, I would not be comfortable ordering here again if this much disrespect for the only planet known to shelter humans is still shown. read more

Delicious, quick, fresh, and flavorful food served by a very courteous staff. The beef bahn mi is hearty size and well made! My vegetarian companion was impressed at the flavors in the tofu as well. Hard to beat for $6.50 Open for dine in and carry out during covid-19 read more

The food is delicious! The spring rolls ( fresh and fried) are wonderful! The service is excellent and the restaurant is always clean.

I loved this place! It was right behind my hotel and so convenient that I came here two days in a row for lunch while at a conference at the Duke Energy Convention Center this past week. The first day, I ordered the tofu and veggie spring roll vermicelli bowl, which was filled with delicious vegetables such as carrot and daikon, cucumbers, lettuce, and peanuts with delicious fish sauce dressing. I also ordered a Thai tea with boba, which was way sweeter than I am used to but it was still refreshing. The second day, I got one order each of shrimp and tofu fresh rolls that came with peanut sauce for me to take to go. It was so fast that from ordering to walking out it took under 6 minutes, so I was able to get back to the convention center, eat, and present within 20 minutes of the transaction. I wish I could have tried a banh mi and bowl of pho but you can for me! read more

A great lunch spot! I've tried all vegetarian options on the menu and they have all hit the spot.

Stopped by to grab a quick lunch during my conference. I was blown away by how amazing my food was! I got the 'bun' which was basically a vermicelli bowl with salad, pickled cucumbers and pickled carrots etc. It was deliciously fresh and absolutely yummy. I'm not a fan of tofu, so I asked them to half the quantity, but when I ate it - it below my mind! It was peanut-y and savory, flavorful and soft! I might start eating tofu again lol. My coworker got the rice and chicken dish and devoured it within minutes so I guess he liked it? Lol. My dish also came with 2 delicious veggie spring rolls that I loved - fresh and not oily at all. Service was quick - we had our food within 5-7 min of ordering honestly. They had self serve water for you on the side, it was super clean and drew a lot of neighboring working crowds. I would actually love to be back whenever I'm in town again. Way to go, Saigon! read more

I've lived two blocks from this place for two years but never tried it. Today was a rainy day and I'm home sick, so I thought some pho sounded great. I placed a DoorDash order for pickup, and it was ready in ten minutes. The amount of food I got for $12 is insane, it could easily be shared. Not to mention, it's delicious. Saigon Subs and Rolls - Vegetarian Pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

One of my daughters' favorite pho places (Cilantro) closed recently, so we continue our quest for good pho. Having been to Vietnam numerous times, our bar is pretty high. So we kept our fingers crossed when we came across Saigon Subs and rolls. The place is small, inviting and clean, located on the west side of 4th street downtown. My daughter and I had the Chicken Pho and did enjoy it. It had everything you would come to hope for in good pho, including the veggie adds (cilantro, fresh mint, bean sprouts etc). I wish I could give it a 5 star rating but the taste was not as good as I'd hoped. And it seemed a bit "oily" in the broth. I did make it better by adding some of the sides but it stilled lacked a bit. I will go back and try it again and add a bahn mi next time and will update my review. read more

I stumbled across this place looking for a good bowl of pho on a rainy day and was more than satisfied! I got the beef pho, which had flavorful soup, a good amount of sliced beef, beef ball, and noodles. It did not come with tripe or tendon, but I wasn't complaining because I usually have to take it out anyways. It's self serve so you grab a seat and then throw out your own trash and dishes afterwards. I also got a pork bahn mi, and it was very flavorful and good! I only wish they put the jalapenos inside instead of layering them on top, since they kept falling out and my lips were definitely burning by the end (although it a good way ). Overall this place is really good for it's price if you are looking for quick food in downtown ! read more

I was staying at the hotel close by and heard the staff rave about this place. So, I ran over before they closed. Keep in mind they have limited business hours. I decided to give Saigon Subs and Rolls a try. I am glad I made the trip downtown. I'm a sandwich guy so I had to give their Banh Mi a try. I chose the pork sandwich, and I will tell you it was delicious. French bread was perfect, not too hard or too soft. Meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. Topped with cilantro and jalapeños, made this a true winner. Next time I will have to try their pho soup. If you want a little something different for lunch, try out Saigon's Only negative, I felt it was just a bit pricey. I spent $13 and some change for lunch. read more

Broth worth walking in the rain for, actually the best Pho broth I've tasted in quite a while. The PHO itself was a very generous serving, with plenty of vegetables, basil, chili sauce ( I tossed it all in ). The texture of the noodles was perfect. I also added a Pork Bohn MI to go, which was not made (purposely) until I was ready to go. I forgot to mention it was for lunch the next day (other places will wrap ingredients separately). I arrived maybe 45 minutes before closing to eat in, but I didn't feel rushed. Until the sweeping began, already feeling a bit guilty for being the last patron, I got my remaining bowl of deliciousness to go. Oh, if you're the clumsy type, you do have to walk your full bowl of broth on a tray from the counter to your table. Don't focus on the bowl, just walk and you won't spill one delicious drop. The menu isn't overly complicated, but offers great choices. The lid of my to go container had a pin sized hole in the top ( I was baffled as to why there was broth in bag ). Unfortunately the chicken in the Pho was dry and chewy, especially the bigger pieces. read more

It's alright. Solid banh mi. Meat is a little soggy and perhaps a bit sweet, but overall decent. Boba tea was ok. Hey, Yelp user. Put down that tot-wich. Put down that mac-and-cheese taco. Put down that chicken-fried-steak-and-Jacked3D-Dorito-crusted "sushi" roll. Put down that bowl of fried-tofu and ranch-dressing "poutine." Forget all that stuff, and get down to Saigon Subs and Rolls and order the beef pho. Add the jalapeno slices and the sprouts, and hit it good with the lime. (The cilantro's pre-added.) Give it the Sriracha and the hoisin, to your taste. Mix it up, and dig in. Why? Right now, it's gotta be the best food item in the Cincinnati city limits that you can get for under ten bucks. That alone gets five stars from this corner. P.S. Donald B.'s two-star review, the review next-most recent to mine right now, refers to the beef pho having "[a] few strips of beef [that] looked recognizable, but some ... chunks reminded me of something like spam," and that he "left them" uneaten. Donald B., they're called meatballs, and they appear in almost every bowl of pho dac biet you get anywhere in the U.S. And those in Saigon Subs & Rolls' pho are delicious. read more

I ordered the bahn mi's, eggrolls and Vietnamese coffee. I have yet to try their pho but from the looks of it, the soup seems pretty generic and contain only the super basic stuff (no tripe, no tendon, etc normally you would find at other pho places) and for that reason, I didn't order their pho soup. Their bahn mi's were alright. Not my favorite as I had better elsewhere. Fried eggrolls were decent as well. Overall, their food was okay...would i come back again, probably not. If you want authentic bahn mi's, try Paris Bahn Mi in West Chester. If you want great pho, try Pho Kimmy off of Sharonville. read more
