Here once again! My…read moresister and I stopped by for lunch and got the Saltado Fries with Filet Mignon (5/5) and Mushroom and Beef Stir-Fry (4/5). The food is always on point! It was our first time trying the mushroom and beef dish, and while it was good, it didn't really stand out compared to the Saltado Fries. Still, no complaints! Service was ok. The servers checked in on us once, and after that, we had to call them over whenever we needed something. We do appreciate them refilling our lychee lemonade, though! That drink was so good! We sat in the outdoor patio area, and it was pretty loud. For some reason, the sound echoed a lot whenever people were talking, which made it a little hard to have a conversation. Maybe we'll try sitting indoors next time! Overall, we'll definitely be back!

Been here before and everything on menu looks good. Started with Ube cloud and Ube beer which both had strong Ube flavor. The cloud had a nice creamy coconut flavor to it. The garlic wings came out and had an amazing orange sauce to it. Wings crispy and flavorful. Unfortunately after the appetizer, service was slow. It took 20 minutes after that for our main dishes to come out. Then another 15 mins after our main dishes for the rest to come out. Not sure if they lost the order in the kitchen since the waiter came back out to check what has come out. Food solid here and aromatic. Garlic noodles with came with big prawns. The ribeye on the fried rice was more medium well than medium. Lomo saltado was my favorite. The filet mignon is flavorful and the crispy fries soaked up all the flavor. Great food here but service can be better. Can see the kitchen from dining area. Looks like they have outdoor seating but wasn't available when we were there.

Delicious bowls of pho with consistently well-balanced broth and generous portions of tender meat…read more They also offer a side bowl of oxtail at an incredible price, which makes this spot feel even more special and worth the visit. When I arrived with my family, there was already a lineup and a waitlist board hanging by the door. I recommend stopping by to add your name before searching for parking so you can save yourself some waiting time. A huge recommendation if you're looking for a satisfying bowl of pho in Westminster!

Be prepared: this place is incredibly popular, especially during peak hours. Parking can definitely be challenging because of how busy it is. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Phở 79 received the prestigious James Beard America's Classics Award, and it's easy to understand why after one meal here. This restaurant is truly an Orange County icon. The restaurant will soon be moving to a new location, as signs throughout the restaurant announce the upcoming move. While I'll miss the original spot, I'm excited for the new space--hopefully with more parking! Some places are worth the wait, and Phở 79 is absolutely one of them.

First of all, comment if you guys wanna hear me launch into a podcast about my thoughts on the…read moreevolution of Vietnamese food in the US. Anyways, let's get into this restaurant! This humble spot has been on the Michelin Guide, so you know even the big guys like 'em! It's located in Garden Grove, right off Brookhurst, so it's right on one of the main streets of Little Saigon. It's a pretty big restaurant, but I'm sure it gets busy especially during the night time. We hopped in for lunch, and the waitress was really helpful! We ordered a small variety, to try as much as possible, so come check it out! Spring rolls with peanut sauce to start, a great fresh intro to an otherwise pretty rich meal. Good crunch, and that peanut sauce is just mmm! Next, we got this Bo Ne, which is kind of like a fancy viet breakfast plate. We like it with the bread, for those dipping allegations. Steak, eggs, mushrooms, pate, sausage? I mean come ON. Look at this clay pot caramelized fish! Now it doesn't look like much, but the flavor coming from this guy is immense. It's a salty umami bomb that deserves some major praise. If you guys like miso black cod, this is the Vietnamese equivalent, for sure! And I'm pretty sure we did it first! No hate, of course. Finally, take a look at this unassuming side dish. It's corn sauteed with dried shrimp and fish sauce. It's street food commonly found in Vietnam, with not as much popularity in the states, but I'm telling you; this is the stuff, right here. It's savory, sweet, umami, everything! Get this EVERY time. If you wanna get well-fed when you arrive, you oughta stop by Garlic and Chive!

Still a great experience but not really worth the long drive from Newport to Garden Grove since I…read morethink I might have had some 'rose colored glasses' when remembering the food here...I mean it was still tasty (dare I say the Spring Rolls are even BETTER than Brodard's!!)) but not like 40 minute drive just for the food that good.... This is what we ordered and how I'd rate it: APPETIZERS -Beef Roll (Non Cuon Bo Nuaon): 10/10 delicious!!!! -Pork and Shrimp Roll (Goi Cuon Tom Thit): 10/10 yum!!!! -Fried Sweet Potatoes: 10/10 (basically sweet potato fries with spicy mayo dipping sauce = can't go wrong!!) -Toothpick Lamb = 5/10 (not as good as I remembered pretty much because it was over cooked and I like my meat medium rare or at least medium and this was well done it tasted deep fried!) -Pomelo Salad 10/10! MAINS -Black Tiger Shrimp Garlic Noodles: 7/10 (tiger shrimp were flavorful but garlic noodles lacked flavor) Pho French Dip - 10/10 this and the spring rolls were the best things I ate! -Sautéed Beef & Garlic Noodles: 7/10 (beef was ok and I liked all the onions but the garlic noodles weren't as good as I'd remembered they lacked garlic flavor) -Stir Fried Glass Noodles w/Crab & Shrimp: 7/10 (no real pieces of crab it only had like 3 shavings of the sinewy slimy parts of the crab that honestly I just throw out when I'm eating crab and it needed more sauce it wasn't as flavorful) DESSERT -Sticky Rice w/Mango: 5/10 (really skimpy not giving much mango and rice was very hard like undercooked) So in conclusion = order the Spring Rolls for sure (they are AMAZING) and their award-winning Pomelo salad is outstanding still and for sure order the delicious Pho French Dip! Service is nice and friendly too!
