Got lost in Kenmore and somehow stumbled on a gem for authentic Vietnamese cuisine! This place really impressed me with their attention to detail, especially in their broth-making. The phở combo was a standout, the broth was rich and flavorful enough to stand on its own without needing additional sauces, which is the mark of a well-made phở. You can tell they take time to develop those deep flavors through proper simmering. Was lacking a bit on the meat, could've had more with the soup. Used to love coming here because the pho is delicious however dealing with the front desk staff is not worth coming back. The cashier talks over you when trying to order and repeats the incorrect order each time. It would be one thing if it only happened once but it's happened every time I have gone to the point that I've had to ask the to let me finish my order. Normally I ask for a rare beef pho with veggies substituted instead of noodles, last time I went I was given brisket which wasn't what I ordered. I asked for the meat on the side and would be okay with picking it out in order to not waste and was left waiting with no other customers around until 25 minutes past and I left the establishment. When my daughter suggested Pho for lunch recently, I thought "why not?" and we tried Pho House Deli (first time here for me). This is a recently opened local place for me and I drive past it regularly as it's on the busy Bothell Way street. The outside Lake Washington views at this location are awesome! I wish they would make the entire wall facing the lake into a big picture window or even an outside deck. Maybe in the future? I had the Lemongrass Charbroiled Chicken Banh Mi sandwich which was delicious. It had a good amount of veggies and a slightly sweet flavor to the sandwich. My vegan daughter had the Tofu & Veggie Pho and she had enough for leftovers for another day. My son also had a Banh Mi sandwich but chose the Combo which has Pork, Chicken and Egg). He enjoyed his as well. This seems to be a small family run business that delivers on convenience and variety. Get your own water, get your own silverware, order at the counter and....bing! Tip starts at 18% up to 25%. They were out of green onion at lunch and the server doesn't come by to check in. I'd stopped eating out partly because of places like this. If you're due a tip, you'll get one and a good one at that. I've been craving Banh Mi, so it was perfect when I stumbled upon this spot! It was super convenient, easy to find and quick service. I ordered the pork and chicken combo for $10 and paired it with a Bubble Mango Tea for $6.75. While it might be a bit daunting if you're hesitant to leave the main street but good parking, the place is worth it. The atmosphere is relaxing, with good music, spacious and pretty surroundings, and large windows that let you enjoy the view outside if you are alone like me or couple or friends. Love coming here because food is delicious and service is always great! I love their clear broth for pho and their rice dishes never miss. I frequent this place probably once a week, either dining in or getting take out since it's on my way home. I love their homemade meatball pho and the combination fried rice! UPDATE Dec 29 I feel the sanitary condition and the meat freshness here need some improvement. I had a bowl of pho with well done brisket. My husband had Banh Bo Hue. The beef in both bowls tasted not fresh, especially the eye round in Hue noodle. He had to pick them out. The bowl we got for sharing didn't look clean, so asked for another one. And it still got some kind of stain from the last meal. I guess this is in line with the county food safety rating of "Okay". Original review Ordered 3 banh mi to go. Flavor is to the point. Good value especially on the combo one. Pickled daikon could be better. I asked not to put jalapeños and they followed instructions. The space looks nice. I got severe food poisoning after getting vegetarian pho takeout here last Saturday. I had four days of very bad symptoms and had to miss two days of work because of my illness. The owner said that the cook was probably very busy, so I guess he didn't have time to wash his hands after defecating. I'll never go back, obviously. read more

Ordered takeout from here for lunch on a weekday and enjoyed it! I got the veggie pho and subbed egg noodles. Came with lots of veggies, hoisin sauce, and the usual pho add ons! No sriracha but thankfully we had our own. Egg noodles had a $1 upcharge and it was thin, ramen-like noodles (possibly instant?) Packaged well so nothing spilled on the way home! I have tried their food twice. The first time was when they first open and did dine in pho. The pho is okay, but when we tried it the noodles weee stuck together and the broth was okay. Went again on 1/20/23 and had a better experience: order Taro tea, banh mi and fresh shrimp spring rolls. Taro bubble tea is from a powder and was blended well. The chicken banh mi is definitely something I would order again! The fresh shrimp spring rolls were good but I did not care for the provided peanut dipping sauce. Since it was carry out, I had the spring rolls with Thai sweet chili sauce when I got home and that was a better pairing. Lots of seating indoors and you can see lake Washington from inside. There is parking but it is a narrow lot so you have to maneuver a bit to get out. When dining inside you can spell weed from the neighbor cannibas store. I was so excited when I saw the posters in someone's picture of the place. Thought it would be my long lost favorite from next to the Kirkland Costco. Even if it is the same people this place was either having a bad day or something else. The places to sit were all dirty. Took almost an hour for 2 bowels of pho a coffee and a lime soda. The lime soda was amazing! My other half's coffee was meh. The broth seemed watered down. Not sure if we will go back to see if was a bad day. I was picking something up from my Naturopath in Kenmore and needed to eat, so I stopped in here. The people are very nice, and service quick. I got Pho Tai Gan, which was not as flavorful as I like, though a large portion. I also got Spring Rolls because i was starving, and the roll was OK, though there was no pork as advertised. Didn't care at all for the peanut sauce, pretty bland and weird texture. I had enough leftovers for another lunch, and I am not a fan of the new "package your leftovers yourself". I knew the pho would end up all over the table if I tried to pour it into the tall take-out container, so I asked if my server could do it. He obliged, and spilled it all over the table! read more

An update on our first experience. While running errands and eating by myself I decided to call in a Togo order and would never do that with Pho! I love a good viet egg noodle soup and have my favorites in south king and Seattle do I tried that since it travels ok. It was about the same quality and flavor as our previous meal there. I still occasionally think of getting it again when I'm driving home and too lazy to cook but I remember how it compares to the good places I get it from. BBQ pork tasted like grocery store version and broth and such not very flavorful. Egg noodles were just that. Best part of it. I think the take away here is that we all appreciate the new choice in Kenmore and along the 522 corridor for Asian food. I would like to go there more often but it's hard to get too excited when I can have better versions while out working around two counties. It's a good option if your expectations are not too high and it is better than most all Asian food within 5 miles and not "Icky yucky"! read more

For me, pho is one of those meals that seems easy to do "pretty decently" and hard to do "exceptionally well." Unfortunately, Pho House Deli doesn't do it event "pretty decently." I started with the A1 spring rolls (oops! contains pork - My fault though, as this is marked on the menu) and found the rolls to be of decent size but relatively flavorless. Other places put mint or thai basil for a little nuance, but if either was in these rolls it was in too little a quantity to notice. The peanut sauce was likewise bland. One member of our party had the #6 pho tai chin and found it edible but somewhat flavorless. It's hard to please a teenager, but that being said I'm not sure whether it's his opinion or the pho that requires a grain of salt. Two of us had the #9 seafood pho and were disappointed. The seafood was all of the pre-cooked variety (read: rubbury shrimp) and the faux crab stick felt a little low-rent... The soup would have been better without it. But the real problem was the nearly tasteless broth. I never add sauces to my pho, but on this occasion both sriracha and hoisin were needed in generous proportions to make the soup palatable. Finally, the boba tea meant to accompany our kid's meal showed up at the end of lunch, apparently because the tapioca needed to be cooked (if I heard correctly.) Not ideal. There are plenty of "pretty decent" pho places and a few "exceptional" ones within a couple of miles. Better to spend your hard-earned money at one of those establishments. read more

Recently I had beef pho that was very disappointing. The broth was weak & watery, not the usual beefy flavor I am used to when getting pho. They also did not serve me the usual accompaniment of vegetables that come with pho - standard is basal, bean sprouts & sliced hot peppers. My table did not have any red chili paste or napkins. I do not routinely put red chili paste in pho, but I would have to give some flavor to the weak broth. Passed by this place numerous times thinking it's going to be another restaurant where the food doesn't justify the price, like a lot of pho places in Seattle.. It was 11am and I wanted something hot and salty and thought, let's finally try this place. Order taking was pleasant, friendly and honest. I got the pho tai gan, pho house, bahn mi, and the viet coffee. I dined in on the tai gan and did the rest takeout. The broth had a good temperature, finally! I thought the portion was good as well though maybe they should have an extra large option for those extremely hungry people since there were some comments about portion size. Then again they do have a Pho House which seems to be larger.. but then again.. we do live in a country were super size is the normal size.. When I was eating pho growing up, not in Seattle, most pho places had their regular sized pho bowls and then there was the #1, "Fire Train", kitchen sink, whatever name they gave that first item on their menu, which wasn't a large but an extra large bowl of pho, catering to the labor workers, or the especially large or hungry people of the area. The broth was also good. Im a big fan of basil and lime in my broth. Some prefer as-is. Whatever works. Place is clean, organized, glasses for water looked clean. Menu could be better but it's aiiight. I gave them 4 stars because the rare beef came fully cooked instead of raw/rare. The pho house I ordered takeout did have it raw so it was great to put it together and pour a hot broth over at home. The noodles can also use some work. It was a little hard when served but fine when I prepped at home. Lastly, when I get viet coffee, I expect it to be strong. If it's not strong, it's wrong, else I get coffee at any of the other hundreds of weaka$$ coffee places in Seattle. Their coffee was good, would most likely get it again.
