Oh wow, the pho is so good! Tender meat, broth with dimension, fresh bean sprouts, lime, jalapeno, and basil to dress. We also had the salad rolls- really fresh and rolled with skill. Nice homemade peanut sauce! The potstickers were so-so. A little skimpy on the filling, and a little over-fried. Unfortunately, the service was meh. The gal just disappeared. My friends and I went there to eat for lunch. The foods was not that great. The vietnamese coffee is made from canned food. It's doesn't taste the same ice coffee. Not fresh at all. Wow great service as soon as we walked in we found a seat . We got our waters and drinks next .The menu is big lots too choose from . I ordered the spicy noodle Pho with pigs blood and pigs feet and some beef . I ordered a large and had plenty to take home too . We had appetizers wontons and egg rolls all really good. I'm trying to understand the somewhat average rating here, and I don't quite get it. I gave them a 4-star, but to me it's probably more like a 4.5, if that was an option. I guess I rounded down because the place isn't super clean, and the owner seems to talk about everyone who walks in in Vietnamese, Anjelah Johnson style, when she has friends who happen to be in there... like you just know they're talking shit (or they're not, it just feels like it). The food, though, has been really good each time. Menu is extensive with Vietnamese fare... in fact their soup options alone are probably more extensive than many pho restaurants in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area's entire menus. Beef broth, pork broth, lemongrass broth... any number of meat/seafood combinations... different noodle options, etc. It's all been really good for me. Also, get the coconut Thai tea boba.. you won't regret it. With all the boba and milk tea options in the area, and many of them being quite decent, this drink seems to stand out as one I go out of my way for. In short - don't expect high-end service or a spotless setting, expect to get talked about in Vietnamese if they have friends in the restaurant, and expect good authentic tasting diverse Vietnamese noodle soups. read more

I typically order my pho from here. But lately The food haven't been great. If you asked for shrimp fried rice. Shouldn't you get shrimp fried rice. In my case, No i got some random mixture of meat and only 3 shrimp which i paid for shrimp fried rice. I called and they wanted to say sorry we usually do it like this. Which is totally weird. I have driven by this strip mall for years now and decided that it was time to put the Pho quest list back in action. The little joint is fantastic the Pho is solid on flavor, the broth is not clear but a tad cloudy but thats not important when the flavor packs a punch. The pho was super meaty more so than any other pho place I've been to so thats a plus, and lots of noodles also. I ordered the chicken wings and they were fantastic they were not the regular fish sauce wings but a nice lite battered style deep fried wing. Ok this review is not about the soup - This is about the important Vietnamese dish - Banh mi - or the classic Vietnamese Pork Sandwich. I stopped in while driving by to see if they have it and they do, as an appetizer and not prepared exactly as I had come to expect. After a few questions to a very friendly person (not a stranger, someone that works there, duh), the agreed to substitute grilled pork for the regular filling thus making the sandwich I know and love. The ingredients were good - except for the bread -which was either over toasted or a little on the stale side (I did go in late on a Sunday so I imagine it might have been purchased a few days earlier). The grilled pork was great and the pickled vegetables were perfect. Oh and the sandwich is $2.75. If you do not eat big meals then 1 is enough, if you are starving then get 2. I would have given 3 and a half stars to be honest but they were so accommodating and friendly and the sandwich was good so I will round up. Pho Hoai is not a bad joint for the area. There aren't a ton of Pho locations off 185th so I decided to stop here last night trying to relieve my cold. A+ for their salad rolls. They are HUGE and delicious! Everything about them tasted fresh and I could only eat about half. B for the Pho. It was alright, but not fantastic. Made the mistake of ordering a large, which of course I could not finish. The prices are a bit high compared to some other Pho restaurants. $7.75 for a large bowl of round steak Pho. The round steak was good and not too chewey. Broth was alright after I put in all my typical sauces and thai basil. D For the service. Upon entry we were seated and given some water. Then we were ignored for about 15 minutes until we noted we would like to place our order. Salad roll appetizer came out with the rest of our food. Took another 20 min. to get the food. The place was near empty. Word to the wise - to my knowledge they don't drop off a check at your table. We waited for about 15 minutes after we were finished eating expecting someone to take our plates or drop off a check. As this never happened we went to the front and was able to pay from there. The whole eating excursion took nearly an hour and a half. Not sure if I would be quick to go back. Food was alright but certainly not a place you'd want to go if you were in a hurry. read more

Went in for a quick meal. No one was here, really. Thought that meant I'd be in and out. Instead found myself waiting for the check with no one in sight, but heard them in the back. Ordered boba (bubble) tea and did not get it until the end of my meal. Ordered "coconut shrimp," but got store-bought Van de Kamp breaded shrimp instead, which was disheartening. Also tasted like it was cooked in old oil. I couldn't eat it. The pho ga was yummy. I wish the chicken was a little smaller. The broth was tasty and I wish they offered more cilantro on the plate with garnishes as well. I got my boba tea right before leaving, so she gave me a discount. They also offer 10% off for students and employees of certain businesses. I understand there are 2 people to take orders, cook, clean and ring you up. Ok...so if you like things on the sweeter side, I would say go here because the food definitely got an extra kick of sugar. The food is not exceptional. Typical of any Vietnamese restaurant. I must say the Pho was not bad. I wasn't even hungry and I finished the entire large bowl of Pho P7, which includes everything except for meat balls. It was delicious at the time but now the after taste is telling me major MSG!! The price is $5.95 for either a large of small pho of your choice, which is a great deal compared to most other places that charge a bit more. Is it comparable to other pho places I've eaten? Yes. Is it better? Not really. But for me, excellent customer service is a must. I enjoy my meal a lot more if the service is good. And the service I might say was excellent! They offered free green tea, candy with your bill, AND we got a special treat of fresh juicy sweet oranges. The owner is quite interesting and friendly. We were informed that he goes on a medical mission trip to serve the underprivileged every year around Jan and Feb. The profit he makes go toward donations for those people. Yay! read more

Not really sure why this place doesn't have a higher average rating! I originally came to this strip mall for sushi (but truly craved ramen). When I saw Pho Hoai, I Yelp'd it and was surprised to see 5 star reviews raving about the pho, and yet still such a low average rating. I tried it anyhow and was glad I did. I typically consider Pho to be the less flavorful alternative to ramen but wow, the broth of my round steak and brisket pho was so flavorful. It truly exceeded my expectations. Yum! Ordered the everything pho (asked for no tripe). It came out fast & was chock full of noodles & meat. Brisket, round, flank, tendon & meatball. All tasty. I like how they finely chop the cilantro & add it to the soup so it's not overwhelming. I'm not a huge cilantro person. Service is super friendly. Wasn't so full when I went at 5:30 on Friday after work. There was another table who were obviously regulars & they got a warm welcome but the staff never made the rest of us feel neglected. Deep fried chicken wings were ok. Not great. Thus the 4 & not 5 stars. I would definitely go back, just not order the wings. Maybe I'll become a regular too. :) read more

I ordered Pho Hoai for delivery after driving by it several times. I ordered beef pho for myself and lemon grass chicken vermicelli for my husband. I also ordered a taro milk tea with boba. The pho was okay and very filling. The milk tea tasted good and the boba was appropriately chewy. My husband said the chicken didn't taste that great and then discovered a couple of small hairs on the chicken. He ended up throwing the rest away. I've had better pho (broth was just okay) and the fried spring rolls was lacking flavor and they don't use high quality meat (on both the pho and spring rolls). The noodles were a bit chewing (I've never had chewing rice noodles before). Service was okay as well I was seated instantly but they only came by 3 times 1. When I place my order. 2. I stay away from their pho because it's just a bowl of MSG. Their vermicelli bowls, rice plates and spring rolls are just aiight. What I come here for is their mi quang, a noodle dish that I don't often see on menus. It has a thicker broth that is composed of turmeric and peanuts, among other ingredients. Sure I've had better mi quang at other places (ie: Brodards in Garden Grove, CA), but when I'm feenin, the mi quang here hits the spot. read more
