TBH, I've seen Pho Van in Beaverton Town Center for years and somehow never went in. My visit today was a complete accident, as I originally planned to have lunch at a newly opened Vietnamese coffee shop, only to find out ... they don't serve food in their Beaverton location.  So, in a moment of hunger-driven panic, I Googled and saw Pho Van right across the street and decided today was the day! As soon as I opened the door, I received a warm greeting. I was holding my Sea Salt coffee and awkwardly asked if I could bring it in. The staff said it was totally fine and guided me to a booth. What a relief! I looked around and was honestly impressed with the decor. The whole place has a post-WWII vibe, with an old-school scooter out front and 1960s music playing in the background. It felt cozy and charming, and I immediately thought, why have I been ignoring this place for years? When the server came back with water and condiments, I ordered a small Tai Nam Gau, pho no. 3, with round steak, flank, and fatty brisket. The food came out quickly, and it looked delicious. The portion size was perfect for a solo diner like me. I've been to other pho spots where the bowl looks like it could feed a family of four, and I always feel a little guilty leaving food behind. The broth was rich and comforting with good depth, and everything tasted fresh. The fatty brisket was my favorite, it was tender and flavorful. Just the right amount of indulgence. Overall, both the food and the service were solid. I went in by accident, but I'm so glad I finally discovered Pho Van.  I won't wait years before coming back again. read more

It's been over two years since I last had amazing pho like this! I haven't tried any pho places in Oregon since leaving California (the bar was set high!). The exterior and interior is well-decorated and sets the ambiance well. The wooden bench seating was a bit hard and I had to hunch further to my bowl as a tall-ish individual. I got the pho bo tai nam gau as a small bowl, which was very filling. The broth is very hot when served but is so flavorful and warms you up just right. The noodles themselves are cooked just right and are a good texture. I finished my bowl so quickly. I will definitely be coming back for more. read more

Oscar, the Hispanic man with the soul patch, was flat-out rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. From the moment we interacted, he acted annoyed, judgmental, and openly disrespectful for absolutely no reason. The sarcastic tone, and smug attitude made the entire experience embarrassing and humiliating. The restaurant was quiet enough for me to overhear him talking shit about customers(me included) in Spanish to his coworkers. He got my order wrong and acted like it was my fault. People like Oscar are exactly why businesses lose customers. If he's that miserable dealing with people, he has no business working in customer service. Ordered a combo rice plate which including pork chop, grilled honey lemongrass pork and shrimp, dried shredded pork, pork skin, and egg and pork patty. Some of the proteins were better than others. This spot is the go to for pho in our family. We decided to come to celebrate a birthday in the family. It was for 4 of us. We came on a weekday evening. Plenty of parking, as the location is in a decent sized shopping center. The restaurant was decorated in a traditional Vietnamese style, with paintings and signage. There were a couple people inside, dining. It was not totally packed yet. We had no made a reservation and were promptly seated. We were then given menus, waters, and utensils. I chose the #2 Tai Ñam pho and the cha gio for the appetizer. For the pho, you are able to choose between a small and large. I chose a small. My family chose a variety of things, such as the Bo La lot. Our appetizers were delicious, this was my first time trying this specific dish. It was severed within 15 minutes. Another 15 minutes went by for our dinner to be served. The pho was perfection, especially the broth. Portions are generous. The noodles and beef were cooked great. I enjoyed my meal. My family did as well. As the evening had gone on, more people had shown up. Our server did his best in accommodating us, due to the crowd. He was very nice and friendly. I came here for the first time and let me just say that the Pho was delicious!! The portions are so worth the price. Attended us very quickly and always came to check if we needed anything else. Greeted and seated right away 11:30am weekday, asked if we wanted a booth or table. Our server was efficient and fast. We waited for the rest of our party and when we ordered our server asked if all the toppings (like onion and cilantro) of certain dishes was okay for us. She also confirmed our order. Also asked if chopsticks were okay with us too. We started with two appetizers. The spring roll was fresh and the rice paper was the perfect consistency. The fried spring roll was really good, surprisingly not as greasy and stayed hot for a long while. My entree of the chicken vermicelli came out quickly and had a lot of chicken! Pho Van in Beaverton is located within the Fred Meyer parking lot across the plaza. What a gem of my favorite Vietnamese food. The menu has a huge variety of dishes, I wanted to try one of my favorite dishes that typically is served with either white rice or vermicelli noodles. I ordered the #51 with all veggies, it's served on a bed of lettuce, cilantro, pickled carrot, jicama, fish oil your pick of protein and a large deep fried roll with peanuts. Plenty of food for two. I enjoyed it with chicken that is glazed and added some siracha. All of the protein and well cooked with a lot of flavor. The interior is extremely ample, great for dinner for two or a large party, the staff were very friendly and I was served very quickly. I have a favorite place where I would normally get my fill of Vietnamese food but I will be returning here to try the rest of the menu. read more

We're new to this area so e wandered in for a lte lunch. The decor is very pretty, lots of carved wood. Quiet, clean, good service. My husband ordered the steak & brisket Phó and really loved it. I tasted the broth and gave it a thumbs up. Nice anise flavor. I had the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl and didn't like it at all. The sauce was flavorless, the noodles more like thin spaghetti rather than rice vermicelli noodles. It did have lots of herbs, but not what I was expecting and I've had this dish many times. Basically lacked lemongrass flavor, was bland. The iced coffee was good, as expected. Overall I would say it's an average and not anything write home about Phó place. I preferred Phó Oregon. Phó Bistro up in Hillsboro was good. I really enjoyed their Salmon salad. read more

The lady greeted us warmly and said our server would be with us shortly. Came by and got our order down but then forgot to put it in? The table that got sat next to us 5 minutes after we sat got their appetizer first (we ordered one as well but never recieved it) and their entree before us. 25 minutes passed and we get told that our food was going to be out shortly. For how long we waited I was quite disappointed at both the service and the pho bowl. read more

I took a photo of the booth because the food was not worth a penny. I was more driven by the racism I encountered. They sat me in a row by myself, I was instructed that I needed to order and pay before being seated; then proceeded to lie to me that its their proceeder. The waiter didn't think I was paying attention to her seating the family that came in15mins after, and taking a card payment from another table who were done eating. I asked for my meat to be on the side and was told its against Health Department regulations (I thought that was just for togo orders?). Always good, always consistent throughout the 20+ years I've come here. I love their fresh salad rolls with shrimp and pork and their amazing peanut sauce, they are the best in town. I always ask for an extra sauce. Called an order in and it's ready in 10 minutes. During covid they built a large outdoor covered patio in the parking lot but now they have taken it down. My family and I come here every once in a while when we're craving for some Vietnamese food. We usually order pho or vermicelli noodle dishes. This time the weather was calling for some pho. I like that they have small and large size bowls. Even though we order small bowls, they are filled with so much meat and noodles, so it's quite satisfying. They are also fairly quick when bringing out our order. The round steak was kind of raw and chewy in the center; it wasn't the ideal steak texture. This has been our go to pho place every trip we've visited Beaverton after our first trial and error with a different spot. Could we have ventured out and tried something new? Probably, but during the pandemic, information online wasn't the most reliable and if it works why change it? We started taking trips at the end of last year (2020) so the cold was the best time for pho! With the pandemic still ongoing, the restaurant provided an outdoor covered seating area with heating lamps, right outside of the restaurant! The seating was limited, so coming before the lunch rush was best and also due to social distancing. As restaurants opened up indoor dining, we tried that as well, just to compare. Between the two I prefer the outdoor seating. The ordering and payment varied. Outdoor seating: order and pay at the podium they provided outside before seating yourselves. Inside: ordered and paid with the cashier before being seated. The last visit we were seated first, ordered then paid at the end. Depends on protocol and seating area. Gratuity will already be added and they will verbally say so, so there wouldn't be any confusion. We'd usually order the cha gio and our pho. My usual is the lean brisket and he'd get the combination. Can't go wrong with pho! Especially theirs. As for the cha gio, I feel like I need to be in the mood for it to order it. First time we visited, we chose the large sizes since IT'S BEEN SO LONG! After that, the regular sizes will suffice. Other than those two items, I haven't tried anything else. We put in a takeout order on friday night, and the order was ready right on cue at 15 min. For the pork & shrimp bowl, the pork was far tastier than the shrimp, well marinated, and with a nice char. As the photo shows, the tofu version comes with plenty of crispy rolls, and they had a perfect crunch. But we wish some of them could have been replaced with some fried tofu. i was waiting outside like their sign said, but they were understaffed and took a while to come get me. The waitress let me know that if the door is closed, you can go inside. It wasn't a problem for me, just thought I'd let y'all know. Dine in was clean and social distances. Gloves and masks. The seafood lemongrass soup was really good! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The toppings were all fresh, the noodles were the perfect texture, it was flavorful (pretty sour and sweet) and had perfectly cooked seafood, but the soup could just use a little more depth. Pretty damn good though. Perhaps next time I will try their pho! If you're thinking about eating here, I'd say it's definitely worth trying it out. Outdoor fenced-in dining decorated with potted plants, An outdoor check-in for ordering and seating or take out. Indoors has limited seating with tables far apart.
