Was not a huge fan of the Lemongrass Beef Vermicelli but I just stick to the pork or combo vermicelli bowl and I am very happy. I had read excellent things about Pho Ha and had been looking forward to trying them. I'd heard that the quality justified the cost of their pho (menu averages $14). Well, that was far from our experience. I had the veggie pho, and my friend got the chicken pho and spring rolls as well as a side of vegetables to add to her pho (because it was otherwise literally just a $14 bowl of noodles, chicken, and broth). The noodles are wide and not what we're accustomed to. I'm fine with trying something new, but these were also not fully cooked. Like most of mine were just clumped together in the bottom of my bowl, somehow both hard and gloopy. The broth was very unexciting, but that was fixable with the normal acoutrements. I always order the Chicken and egg roll Bun. It's basically the best noodle salad of your life. If you aren't afraid of fish sauce, it's so yummy poured on top! The noodles were wider and chewier- that was a pleasant surprise. What was not pleasant was the beef broth. It lacked flavor and depth. I saw the oxtail pho option and readied myself to just tip my delivery person really well because it knew it would be quite the drive. Oh man, it was sooooo good! I got a pretty generous portion of super tender oxtail with my broth and noodles. Delicious! The broth is okay but the meat and the noodles (thicker than most rice noodles from other pho restaurants) were reminiscent of pho I've had in Vietnam and in Vietnamese homes where I've been lucky enough to have homemade pho. Shrimp fresh roll: contains Vietnamese pork ham slice as well--not listed on the menu. There are minimal vermicelli noodles and is heavy on the bean sprouts and pickled carrots. I believe the lettuce used is ice burg lettuce. Tastes good but there is definitely a lot of vegetable "crisp" in it. Beef Lo Mein: nice flavor and not too salty. Veggies are nicely blanched and still fresh/crisp. Chunks of the beef are thicker cut and slightly chewy. Pho: the most flavorful broth I've had so far! Meat is good as well and not chewy! My only insignificant complaint is that the noodles were a bit weak and broke when I tried to pick them up with chopsticks. The lime and basil leaves were pristine and fresh looking which is always a plus--if the I condiments look this good, then you know the main course will be delicious! Coconut juice: very good! Is a bit on the sweet side but very refreshing. The coconut slices at the bottom are also very tasty--nice and tender! Taro bubble tea: blended ice and has a slight vanilla taste to it. I see they renovated the restaurant and it looks super nice in there. The pricing on the phone is odd and not like other pho places. There's a different pricing for beef pho vs combination pho, and the combination is more expensive with $11 for small and $12 for large while beef is $9 for small and $10 for large. Other pho restaurants group all combinations of pho together and charge for the price, so this was a surprising difference. Probably won't go back due to the price. While not packing a savory punch, it has none of the "watery" or top-ramen-fake notes I dread when I venture into pho-land. The food was quite expensive for a relatively small portion. The amount of food that I received relative to the cost is quite low compared to similar restaurants. The restaurant was quite slow in making my order as well. I had the Pho and it was just ok. One trend I have noticed on Yelp is that occupancies that are nice in appearance tend to have better scores than they might otherwise get. I think Pho Ha is one of those restaurants. Came here with some friends last Friday and it was actually one of my friend's aunt's pho restaurant! They share a parking lot with a Mexican restaurant next door but we came an hour or two before closing so there wasn't any parking issues. The inside is very spacious and clean. This also seems like a very popular place for Shoreline CC students. I got a small bowl of pho with tai, nam, and bo vien. I am still experiencing some residual flu symptoms so the heat and texture of everything seemed to help me feel better. I still couldn't taste very well but the pho tastes just like mom's. I also shared the chicken wing appetizers with a friend. DEFINITELY get these, they are HUGE! If only they came with more wings!! I think this place has changed hands many times since I first started coming here a decade ago, and although I've always thought they had the best Pho in Seattle, now they've step it up a bit in other areas too. Best pho in Seattle I've had! Handmade noodles and the broth is absolutely delicious. The noodles are very soft and are so much better than other pho restaurants that use packaged noodles.
