Been sleeping on this place for a while. Boy was that a mistake. Pho Ha is incredible! First time in, picking up a take out order with low expectations. Staff was friendly, and inside had some chill atmosphere. The food exceeded my expectations with flavorful broth in the pho, tender cuts of beef, and the spicy jalapeños were such a great addition compared to most other restaurants that give jalapeños that taste like bell peppers. The egg rolls were good with a sweet fish sauce and the fresh rolls were... well "fresh" with shrimp and a sweet peanut sauce. I will be back again for sure, can't wait to try more menu items. I used to love this place. I think I've even left a great review here. I usually never leave a complaint or complain in person. But, after sitting (told to,"sit anywhere") and waiting 25 minutes for an type of acknowledgement to order. Then finally helped with a bland, "what you want", and requesting the regular plain soup pho, just to gety anything because i was starving. As this would have been my 1st meal of the day at 8pm. No Mango or Coconut Bubble Teas with no suggestion of an alternative. My food (soup) came in about 15 minutes after ordering. Yes!! PHO at my favorite North-North-End Viet. Joint. I was READY TO EAT. This after being in Ha approximately 48 minutes, without any CUTLERY. As I sat and watched the server walk passed me, help the table next to me, chit-chat with customer/friends of her's, I thought when she would come over to ask how everything was, I would just ask for a spoon. One SPOON. Thought about using my hands I was so hungry. Even worse, it smelt so good. Didn't even mind it was the wrong order. Didn't mind two sets pf people left, table reset and new guests arriving and had order taken. But, after 22 minutes of just sitting quietly, hands folded on the table, guy next to me gaze at me like, "what's wrong bradda, OHHHH?", I got up and pleasantly left. With a flip of a $20 on the table. Walked out. Got to my car, sat for 15 minutes trying to find a new place to eat of my phone, drove passed the large window, and saw my soup still just sitting there. Alone. No water. No Spoon. No napkins. Some really awful entitled guy got mad that his 5 person table didn't get waited before a 2 person table when the restaurant was packed, and it made me actually furious. He was actually yelling at the waiters right after they got slammed. Like dude, have you ever worked a job in your life? Like any job at all. Literally any sense of understanding flow of management anywhere. Come on. Do not go here if you want authentic Vietnamese food! I asked the waiter if the ice coffee was the traditional Vietnamese iced coffee when ordering and he said yes; this was not true--I could taste there was no sweet condensed milk nor did they use vietnamese coffee grounds. It was super watered down and had a lot of grounds at the bottom. When we left we saw that they used half and half in the back and some coffee mix. The rice plate came with a salad that had some type of dressing on it; this was very weird and I wished it was listed on the menu so I would've gotten it with no dressing. The sauce to go with the plate was straight up sweet and sour with water. The meat was decently marinated but nothing special. To top it off the waiter never came back to ask if everything was okay or if we needed water. Would definitely avoid this place if possible. read more

Pho Ha I am admitting that I was not going into this place with much hope. I was expecting to not like it. I was expecting it to pale in comparison to my other favorite pho, Pho 99 near Costco. And I'm giving it 5 stars for the following: from what I observed being in a large group of friends who were here, the staff was beyond kind and patient with us, were pretty generous with bean sprouts, and jalapeños, and sides stuff, they also have generous large vs small size pho's, The broth isn't my favorite of all favorites, but it did rank pretty high, the flavor is good. They have great parking, location to home is close for me all in all my impression of "they just want to be a trendy pho that's overpriced" to "this pho is a little bit more pricey, but they back up their Act as well. read more

I had read excellent things about Pho Ha and had been looking forward to trying them. I'd heard that the quality justified the cost of their pho (menu averages $14). Well, that was far from our experience. I had the veggie pho, and my friend got the chicken pho and spring rolls as well as a side of vegetables to add to her pho (because it was otherwise literally just a $14 bowl of noodles, chicken, and broth). The noodles are wide and not what we're accustomed to. I'm fine with trying something new, but these were also not fully cooked. Like most of mine were just clumped together in the bottom of my bowl, somehow both hard and gloopy. The broth was very unexciting, but that was fixable with the normal acoutrements. Service was friendly, but most importantly, I can't fathom how they justify charging $19 for that bowl of veggie pho... It is a crime against humanity! It was not even good!! I really like their bun combo and pork. Their pork is really well seasoned and very tasty. Was not a huge fan of the Lemongrass Beef Vermicelli but I just stick to the pork or combo vermicelli bowl and I am very happy. Prices have seemed to go up and they may be on the higher end of some Pho places but they have big portions. The Vermicelli bowl for takeout can easily feed 2 if you got an appetizer as well. read more

Not sure if it was a one off or if there's a change in ownership but I ordered the brisket pho add veggies and fresh rolls to-go ($22 total). The noodles were wider and chewier- that was a pleasant surprise. What was not pleasant was the beef broth. It lacked flavor and depth. It straight up tasted like they diluted the broth with water because it was the bottom of the barrel and they ran out. It was so bland that I had to add fish sauce for there to be semblance of flavor/taste.. The fresh rolls were okay. I think they add coconut in the rolls and the peanut sauce was a tad sweet. Overall, I most likely won't be back. There are better, more consistent pho shops in the area. On the flip side- it was great to see the shop busy on a Tuesday night. Right off the bat, I'm new to this area so I don't know if 7.99 for a small is expensive or normal but that caught my eye. The next thing I noticed was the flavor of their broth. I've had many many bowls of pho in my life and I'd say 85% of the places I've tried are similar in taste. However once in awhile I come across a place with a unique broth that stands out. This would be one of them. It wasn't bad but it wasn't my favorite either. However, the portion of their meat was a lot! I had more meat left than I did noodles and usually my ratio of eating weighs out at the end. So can't complain about that! My wife and I come here often. We are always made to feel welcome and appreciated. The staff is top notch. Food is classic Vietnamese Pho, other soups, Vermicelli bowls, Vietnamese coffees, stir fries. The quality of produce and proteins is fresh and clean. Very well prepared. No-one questions us if we ask for a substitution such as vegetables over noodles as my wife has issues with gluten. The location is convenient on Aurora Ave N near 155th in Shoreline WA. After coming back from a trip somewhere warm, I came home to Seattle to find out that fall had indeed fallen upon us. On dreary, rainy days, nothing sounds better than a steaming bowl of pho. I didn't really like the pho I ordered from a place near us so I was looking for other options. I actually grew up near Pho Ha in Shoreline, but I don't think I had ever tried them. I saw the oxtail pho option and readied myself to just tip my delivery person really well because it knew it would be quite the drive. Oh man, it was sooooo good! I got a pretty generous portion of super tender oxtail with my broth and noodles. Delicious! The broth is okay but the meat and the noodles (thicker than most rice noodles from other pho restaurants) were reminiscent of pho I've had in Vietnam and in Vietnamese homes where I've been lucky enough to have homemade pho. I always order the Chicken and egg roll Bun. It's basically the best noodle salad of your life. If you aren't afraid of fish sauce, it's so yummy poured on top! It has all the veggies, pour in the sriracha, plum sauce and gobble it up. My husband loves the chicken pho ga and it's packaged wonderfully. Had to knock off a star. Service and cleanliness: our water cups came with obvious black specks in them--one cup had a white dried milk line halfway through along with the black specks. Something like this should have been noticed before it was taken to the table. This makes food prep questionable--if they neglected this, what else are they neglecting back there? We asked for different water cups and the dirty ones were taken away but we never received new ones. We ate and had no water and were never checked on. TLDR: Flavorful Pho. Coconut Juice. Yum! Spacious and very clean dining area. The mirror just makes the room look so much bigger! Nice aquarium set up in the middle. Ambient saxophone music. Shrimp fresh roll: contains Vietnamese pork ham slice as well--not listed on the menu. There are minimal vermicelli noodles and is heavy on the bean sprouts and pickled carrots. I believe the lettuce used is ice burg lettuce. Tastes good but there is definitely a lot of vegetable "crisp" in it. Beef Lo Mein: nice flavor and not too salty. Veggies are nicely blanched and still fresh/crisp. Chunks of the beef are thicker cut and slightly chewy. Pho: the most flavorful broth I've had so far! Meat is good as well and not chewy! My only insignificant complaint is that the noodles were a bit weak and broke when I tried to pick them up with chopsticks. The lime and basil leaves were pristine and fresh looking which is always a plus--if the I condiments look this good, then you know the main course will be delicious! Coconut juice: very good! Is a bit on the sweet side but very refreshing. The coconut slices at the bottom are also very tasty--nice and tender! Taro bubble tea: blended ice and has a slight vanilla taste to it. I see they renovated the restaurant and it looks super nice in there. The pricing on the phone is odd and not like other pho places. There's a different pricing for beef pho vs combination pho, and the combination is more expensive with $11 for small and $12 for large while beef is $9 for small and $10 for large. Other pho restaurants group all combinations of pho together and charge for the price, so this was a surprising difference. Probably won't go back due to the price. The broth is flavorful, with a clean and pure taste. If that was all I was served I'd drink it, and enjoy the heck out of it after adding a little sea salt. While not packing a savory punch, it has none of the "watery" or top-ramen-fake notes I dread when I venture into pho-land. Although pho is not my foodie wheelhouse, it would be tough to imagine anyone being too disappointed by the brisket pho I had - the broth makes the dish and the broth is well-prepared. (In a decidedly non-fatty, not-too-meaty, "reserved" sort of way.) The thai basil and accoutrements it came with were fresh. Someone in the kitchen here does care about the food in a four-star way, the pho just isn't a great value for the price. Came here with some friends last Friday and it was actually one of my friend's aunt's pho restaurant! They share a parking lot with a Mexican restaurant next door but we came an hour or two before closing so there wasn't any parking issues. The inside is very spacious and clean. This also seems like a very popular place for Shoreline CC students. I got a small bowl of pho with tai, nam, and bo vien. I am still experiencing some residual flu symptoms so the heat and texture of everything seemed to help me feel better. I still couldn't taste very well but the pho tastes just like mom's. I also shared the chicken wing appetizers with a friend. DEFINITELY get these, they are HUGE! If only they came with more wings!! Most my friends got com tam dishes which looked very appetizing with the ribs/pork chop and fried egg. This restaurant is a nicely decorated spot in Shoreline. I have ordered pick up there for a number of years. This is probably the last time I will order there. The food was quite expensive for a relatively small portion. The amount of food that I received relative to the cost is quite low compared to similar restaurants. The restaurant was quite slow in making my order as well. I had the Pho and it was just ok. One trend I have noticed on Yelp is that occupancies that are nice in appearance tend to have better scores than they might otherwise get. I think Pho Ha is one of those restaurants. I think this place has changed hands many times since I first started coming here a decade ago, and although I've always thought they had the best Pho in Seattle, now they've step it up a bit in other areas too. The dishes are not clean. You can literally wipe off the dried tea drips n' other odd things off your teapot with a swipe of your fingers. They do not seem to bother washing them after each use. They kind of force you to tip. They even have a tip jar that says "Roses are Tips, Violets are Tips, Please give us Tips, Tips, Tips!" Food is decent. Figured it would be the usual carrots, onions and carrots. All it had was bean sprouts, onions, green onions, basil and jalapeños (I asked for no cilantro so there was none). So pretty much, I got noodles, which were soggy and the toppings that come with any pho. *Edit* upon reviewing my order, it's listed as "no meat pho". Maybe my fault for assuming this was just a strange way to describe vegetarian pho. Almost positive it's a beef broth. Just something to be aware of if you're a vegetarian. read more
