    Steak hibachi

We are new to Searcy and there were not a lot of reviews but we ended up taking a chance- and glad we did. (Not pictured spicy tuna roll that was excellent).

But it did not look very busy. I was seated pretty quickly, and that's where it went downhill. I ordered the Lechon and pork eggrolls. 10 minutes later my waitress informed me that there were no more pork eggrolls. So I chose not to get a substitute and just continue with my entrée. About every five minutes, my waitress came by and apologized for the wait and told me the food would be out soon. 42 minutes after I ordered food, it finally arrived. The food was very good and had amazing flavor. I just can't get over waiting 42 minutes for a plate of food. I hope their service will pick up and they can be a little bit quicker in the future.

The serving size was a bit small for the price. The chicken was overcooked, and the rice was just rice with some onions. It was relatively simple; there was no unique or impressive flavor. The waitress was nice, and made sure to check on me often. The restaurant itself is neat, clean, and inviting. I'll have to go back when I'm not on a budget, and order something fancier, I guess. I do feel like the food should be good no matter what, though. Lastly, they will nickel and dime you if you pay with card--you know, like most people do in the Big 26. The food was $12.99 before Searcy's astronomically high tax, and then they upcharged me over 50 cents for paying with card. It just doesn't sit well with me. I paid a premium, got some okay food, and then got upcharged again. It makes me sound cheap, I know, but I wanted something nice instead of just fast food.

The octopus sashimi was not tender. The white tuna was not particularly buttery as it should have been if it was escolar (not sure what it was really). The eel was deliciously soft and had the traditional sweet unagi sauce atop. The fried soft shell crab for $7.95 was a whole crab fried into about four pieces. It was not as tender as I've had elsewhere but good for Searcy. The unagi don was in good portion with about seven slices of eel atop a bed of somewhat dry rice. It came with some pickled ginger, a wee bit of seaweed salad, and some artificial wasabi. The eel was good.

I've gotta vent here..... as a former Sushi chef in Japan, this bastardization of Sushi has gone too far, and this place is just another contributor.... I see that people's favorites here are the Volcano Roll and other localized concoctions... Here's a hint: If you're seeing 'deep fried', 'sirachi', 'cream cheese' or a multitude of other American ingredients in your sushi roll, it's not Sushi. Sure, you enjoy it, and so do I sometimes, but let's stop calling it Sushi. Fair enough? Let's call them 'Fat Rolls' or "Saucy Snakes' or something that describes them better. OK, off my soapbox. This place is un-inspiring....

I came in and ordered, the person who took my order was nice and polite. I was the only customer in…read morethe restaurant the whole duration of me being there. Food was pretty quick, I waited for about 15-20 mins. Only thing I was turned off by is there is no soda fountain or anything so I was forced to purchase a separate canned coke. I will say something I was appreciative of is that my hibachi came with two free yum yum sauces, most places normally just give you one free sauce or charge you for it period. The hibachi was overall hot and pretty good, I would like to note that there was not as much steak as I would've hoped for but the quality of the steak that was there was pretty good. My plate was loaded to the brim with rice so that was nice also. For the sushi, not the best sushi I've ever had, I ordered one of the classic rolls but you can order the more expensive ones that are deep fried and I can imagine those might be better. But the 911 roll was 7.99 which I think is a fair price, for the hibachi it was 10.99, I spent around a total of 20 dollars. I do recommended this place, I would maybe lean towards the more expensive rolls if you want good sushi but I 100 percent recommended the hibachi and it was well worth the price and very filling. I give this place a modest 7.5 out of 10.
