I ordered sashimi, unagi don, and fried soft shell crab. I picked it up about an hour later and the sashimi wasn't ready so I waited another 7 or so minutes while they rushed around to prepare and package my order. The octopus sashimi was not tender. The white tuna was not particularly buttery as it should have been if it was escolar (not sure what it was really). The eel was deliciously soft and had the traditional sweet unagi sauce atop. The fried soft shell crab for $7.95 was a whole crab fried into about four pieces. It was not as tender as I've had elsewhere but good for Searcy. The unagi don was in good portion with about seven slices of eel atop a bed of somewhat dry rice. It came with some pickled ginger, a wee bit of seaweed salad, and some artificial wasabi. The eel was good. read more

I was quite unimpressed with this place. It lacked ambiance, character and warmth. The service was robotic, and the food barely met standards.... I've gotta vent here..... as a former Sushi chef in Japan, this bastardization of Sushi has gone too far, and this place is just another contributor.... I see that people's favorites here are the Volcano Roll and other localized concoctions... Here's a hint: If you're seeing 'deep fried', 'sirachi', 'cream cheese' or a multitude of other American ingredients in your sushi roll, it's not Sushi. Sure, you enjoy it, and so do I sometimes, but let's stop calling it Sushi. Fair enough? Let's call them 'Fat Rolls' or "Saucy Snakes' or something that describes them better. OK, off my soapbox. This place is un-inspiring.... read more

Sushi Cafe - Sushi Bars Near Me - Searcy, Arkansas

It's the best sushi in the area and never busy. In house dining is a little slow but prices are fair and the staff is nice.

Awesome! I went in not knowing what to expect. The server asked if it was our first visit. Then she recommended a few options to try. The food was great. Will definitely be back and out this place into rotation. read more

The decor in this restaurant is nice and modern and clean. Honestly, Searcy has very little restaurants so Sushi Cafe is probably one of the better ones however, I make sushi at home that is tastier than some of the sushi I had here. I thought their rolls were just A-OK and standard. The spicy tuna was good but the rolls came with too little ginger. It was hard to get my waitresses attention. She was busy talking to the sushi chef half the time and she barely understood me when I ordered. I had to flag her down several times but staring her down or waving my arm everywhere; it was as if she was avoiding me. read more

Really good sushi and egg rolls! They are always very polite on the phone and in drive though! I've never been inside but they do have a drive through some days they are quicker than others but I have no problem waiting. read more

Bento boxes are awesome for lunch. Great value. Lots of food for the price. Staff is great!

Visited tonight for dinner. I let the chef make whatever he wanted. I was very impressed. Had three special items not on the menu and my standby white tuna. The wife had salmon, tuna and white tuna sashimi. All were fresh and a 9.99. We ate numerous dishes that were specially made plus her sashimi, squid salad and the bill was less than $60. Similar experiences in Dallas, LA or NY would have been well over $150+ even without alcohol which is lacking in this city. The servers are not the best, but the food is. We always sit at the sushi bar and deal with the sushi chef. Makes it much easier. Most of the people we see here think sushi is cooked/fried fish or rolls with nori wrapped cucumbers and avocados. I have never had a bad meal here either in the restaurant or the numerous to-go lunch orders our office gets weekly. I would recommend this place without reservation. read more

Sushi was great! I am only giving 3 star because no wine which is probably just the county but I think you need to know before you walk in! I survived my meal without wine but would have enjoyed it more with wine! read more

I could not believe this place is sitting in the middle of Searcy, AR. I suspect Searcy is becoming a bit of a foodie hidey hole based on this experience and several other spots I've visited in the area. I came into town from uptown Houston and was brought here. It was amazingly fresh and the flavors were on point. We had the Volcano Roll, Bom Roll, Mango Tango Roll and salmon sashimi. I would have expected to pay much more for all of this in the city. Next time I am in the area, I will most certainly return! read more

I love Sushi Cafe! The staff is friendly and patient and the sushi I always made perfect. If you haven't tried the volcano roll and the chicken teriyaki you're really missing out. I've been coming here since they first opened and I've had the same order every time- I think they pretty much know it by heart now. read more

I love this place. We've been going here since they opened and it's been great every single time. The lady who cooks is very efficient and the food comes out consistently good. The sushi isn't as consistent but is still good. If I had a complaint about this restaurant (which I don't) I would say it's hard to place to go phone orders because of the language barrier but that's not really a problem with the restaurant or food. All things considered I have no problem giving them 5 stars out of 5. read more

This place has great food and great prices. Their lunch specials are even more affordable. You have to try the Eel Avocado roll, the Bom roll, and the Gyoza. The Hibachi is wonderfullly prepared and a large meal. I really haven't tried anything I didn't like. The service is good and fast enough for food that is made to order. We usually go in a good size group (6-8), and they always take good care of us. read more

We went for dinner since the reviews were so good. But the sushi was not very good, service was average and the decor was old and depressing. Overall not impressed. read more

Super great food and friendly staff I love going here! The only thing they could improve is giving drink refills faster. Most of the time when I go eat here I have to survive on 1 cup of drink for the entire time in there. read more

We've been to this little restaurant many times over the last 5-6 years. To begin, I must preface this by reminding folks that the restaurant choices in general are pretty skimpy in Searcy and the sushi availability is even less. Given this, I have to say that Sushi Cafe offers some pretty tasty Japanese food. They are fairly consistent, although we have had several meals that have kept us away for a bit (sushi fish not quite as fresh as it should be), making us somewhat regular customers but not dedicated regulars. We do know that if we are in the mood for something besides sushi, we are always happy choosing to eat here. Tonight hubby had the tempura udon and I had the unagi don. Both were excellent. The tempura udon is served with the tempura in a separate dish from the noodle soup (unlike the typical Japanese serving where the tempura is already in the soup, allowing it to soften). The serving size is very generous except for the amount of udon noodles, oddly. Unagi don is served with thin slices of eel generously placed over a round tray of white rice. Serving size is just right, certainly not skimpy. The service is better now than in previous years. More attentive, friendly as they have always been, much better at keeping beverages filled. If you don't mind just getting up to pay your check when you're finished, you won't be frustrated by that "end of the meal" delay with the check. read more

I love this place! The sushi is really reasonably priced and everything I've tried so far has been delicious. Gyoza is really good. The hibachi is fairly good. The only con is the turn around time. It doesn't take a ridiculous amount of time, but it's borderline annoying. Courses don't come out close enough together either (like you'll sit there having finished your salad for ten minutes before your entree comes out). Overall still one of my favorite restaurants in town read more

I wrote my first review over 4 years ago and I am adding another star. I've moved from there, but I am so happy to be able to eat at Sushi Cafe when I go visit. The food is still excellent and the price is right. I live near Little Rock and I haven't found a sushi place that I like as much as this little place in Searcy. It is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Searcy. My favorites are the seaweed salad, the miso soup and the Volcano Roll. I've never had a bad meal there. read more

Unexpected sushi place in Searcy. Ordered the BOM because of recommendations, not realizing it was fried. I've never liked fried sushi before this day. It was GREAT! Also had the Mango Tango and was impressed with the quality, but it lacked any layers of flavor. I had lunch on a Saturday, and it was not busy at all. Hope it catches on! read more

Absolutely wonderful! I had hibachi chicken which came with miso soup and friend rice. Delicious! This place is well decorated and has quite a nice atmosphere as well. My food took a while to get to me. So long in fact that the rest of my party had finished eating by the time it came. read more

Can't believe I didn't know about this place before. The food is amazing! The fried rice is the best I have ever had.

Great sushi, miso, and udon. Have eaten here 4 times and will go back. Clean nice staff.

I had the dragon roll, dynamite roll(I think?) and the white tuna sashimi. All were good. The tempura shrimp filled eel roll was great as was the dragon. The sashimi was forgotten at first, but brought promptly upon reminder. I recommend the rolls. read more

I love this place! I have Been coming here ever since it opened. The food is great, lots of variety, and at a decent price. The place is always clean and quiet and the staff are friendly. It's better than Fugi's too. read more

My favorite place in Searcy! I like the food and environment. BTW, the boss is a good seafood picker ; )

One of my favorite places in Searcy. Definitely the best sushi around. Supper friendly service. Great atmosphere.

Sushi Cafe is an urban gem in small town Searcy. One of the best Sushi places around. The Sushi is fresher and more affordable than many of the Sushi joints in Little Rock. Quality soups, noodles and Japanese entrees are served as well. The servers are a little shy but good. Bring a light jacket, sometimes it's a little chilly inside. read more

I have been going to Sushi Cafe since it opened and it has never let me down. They have a great lunch menu and excellent sushi. Compared to the other Japanese/Asian Fusion restaurants in town, they serve the best sushi by far. As far as their entrees go, they are good but nothing really stands out. The staff have always been extremely nice and attentive. read more

Excellent all around. Nice ambience, great food. Hibachi chicken is one of the best you can get anywhere. Sushi is very good. Service is tops. read more

Very good place to eat. Not alot of seating, but my 7 year old son loves their sushi!!! Really good food!! I will go back for sure!!

Not the best sushi place in town but the staff is courteous, and they have a small sushi bar where you can watch the chef make the rolls and cuts right in front of you, its a small restaurant but a nice atmosphere, some of the booths and chairs need replacing but it has always been exceptionally clean. The prices are about average for sushi, and when we pig out me and the wife spend between 35-45 on a dinner, the waits are a little longer than some but its worth it, Overall its a nice quiet little restaurant that could be romantic or relaxing, you can ask to be seated wherever if its not buisy and the staff is friendly, their spicy yellowtail roll actually has some spice to it, and is the best in town for that particular roll. Oh and the sweet tea is to die for. read more

Love their chicken teriyaki and the fried rice. They have an avocado salad that is amazing! Service and food is consistent and we've never had a bad experience. They make some amazing looking sushi (I don't eat much of it, but am always impressed with what my friends order) read more

The first thing I noticed were boxes and a plastic bucket stored near the front entrance. I expect higher standards for sushi restaurants cleanliness and presentation. The salad was slightly limp iceberg lettuce. The hot tea and miso soup were good. I had the feeling the California roll was pre-made earlier in the afternoon. I'd say half the sushi was really good and the other half average. The service was prompt but certainly didn't give me a warm welcome feeling. read more

This place is awesome! I can't really believe this place exists in Searcy. Really really good sushi. You MUST try it.

Truly a renovated Backyard Burger building. Searcy isn't exactly the ideal location for fresh seafood, but apparently cream cheese is a different story. Ate here a handful of times while in college. Gives you the sushi fix you need in between summer and winter breaks. read more

Definitely exceeded my expectations. The sushi chef gave us a free roll too. Very friendly service.

best Japanese food in searcy! I love it so much! great timing, taste, and atmosphere! highly recommend the chicken hibachi!

I am not a big sushi fan, although I did love the Bom Roll. We had the chicken and steak habachi with fried rice and vegatables, and it was all very tasty. If you like Fuji, you will love Sushi Cafe because the food is better and the price is cheaper. read more

This place is amazing. Very friendly service. The sushi chef sent us out a free roll to try. Best sushi I have had!!
