I was recently driving from New Orleans to Mountain Home, Arkansas, and anytime I have a road trip through barbecue country, I'm looking for an excuse to stop. Growing up in the Bootheel, barbecue isn't just food, it's part of life. Before this trip, I did a little research and kept seeing Suttle's listed among the best barbecue joints in Arkansas and that was enough for me. I rolled in about 40 minutes before closing and grabbed my order to go. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the bathrooms were spotless, and the prices were more than fair. I ordered a pig sandwich with the hot sauce and slaw, fried okra, mustard potato salad, a half rack of ribs, sweet tea, and a fried cherry pie. The pig sandwich was the winner of the barbecue. The hot sauce had just enough kick to earn the name without overpowering the pork. The meat was moist and tender, not quite pulled pork and not quite chopped, but somewhere in that middle ground. I also loved the slaw. It was diced instead of shredded and just creamy enough to complement the sandwich instead of taking it over. The mustard potato salad was outstanding. I grew up eating mustard potato salad, and this one had that unmistakable "deviled egg" flavor that great mustard potato salad is supposed to have. I completely understand why so many people rave about it. Definitely order a side of it. The ribs were good, just not my personal style. They had nice flavor, but they reminded me more of slow-cooker ribs than that low-and-slow smoked barbecue with a heavy bark that I usually gravitate toward. They were already nice and juicy, so I never even opened the container of mild sauce. The fried okra was fine. Nothing wrong with it, but it tasted like the standard pre-breaded version you find in a lot of restaurants. Now...let's talk about that fried cherry pie. It absolutely stole the show. It tasted homemade, with a golden, buttery crust dusted in powdered sugar and a tart-sweet cherry filling that was still hot when I bit into it. I'd drive out of my way for another one. The runner-up? The sweet tea. One more glass and I probably would've needed to schedule a dentist appointment, but it was exactly what I wanted after a long day on the road. Suttle's isn't trying to reinvent Arkansas barbecue. It's serving honest food, generous portions, friendly hospitality, and one of the best fried pies I've had in a long time. *The baked potato salad is 10/10 no notes and will have me returning. *Bbq Sandwhich with no rub, sauce or coleslaw was 8/10. They have a sweet rub that is not my preference and they will serve the pulled pork without it. *Baked beans were the weakest food element. *Also had sliced brisket 8/10 with rub. *Staff was 10/10. *I would give 4.5 stars if possible. read more

We ordered to go Mild BBQ Pork with pints of BBQ Beans, Coleslaw, & Mustard Potato Salad. Excellent food as usual. Friendly servers. Only issue that I had with my current & past 2 take out orders have been that I paid for an extra pint of their Mild sauce that I have NEVER Received & only received (1) single serve container for 2 lbs. of pork. I understand prices have gone up on products but it's NOT cheaper for customers that doesn't get what they order. read more

Though they're understaffed right now, the experience was great and the staff was very kind. The food was better than we expected. The atmosphere felt like a good old country, BBQ restaurant. We had the combo platters. The polish sausage, chopped brisket and pork was delicious! The corn fritters, fried pickles (chips), Road hog potatoes and coleslaw were on point! Great BBQ at Suttle's Roadhog BBQ. The place was so packed the first time I went there, I couldn't get a table for an hour. I didn't wait, but thought that if there was this much demand for the BBQ, it must be pretty good. The second time I went there (first time actually eating the food), I ordered take out ahead of time and by the time I got there, the food was ready. Ha, no waiting this way! The BBQ was good and worth the wait. I had the 3 meat plate or pulled pork, brisket, and sausage. Delicious. I also got to try the ribs that others I was with ordered. I ate the ribs with a fork. I couldn't really eat the ribs holding the bone because meat fell off the bone and then I'm just left holding a bare bone. The portion size is large. While I wouldn't call this cheap BBQ, you do get a lot for your money. Unfortunately, they do not offer a military discount, something I always look out for in a business. read more

Have eaten their food from when the parents had a small trailer. Wonderful smells and memories. Still the same good ribs etc. Restaurant is nice. They seem to take very good care of the kids that work for them. Love all the entrees. Try every single one of those and you won't be sorry. As for the sides, I am kind of particular about my potato salad as I like the sweet pickle mayo style but I am told their potato salad is good. Beans, fries (non spiced), and slaw I recommend. Have not tried many other sides but maybe someday. Always check out the desserts. read more

We've lived in Ward Ar and never knew Sittles was only 6 miles from home. BEST BBQ WITHIN MILES!!!! There jumbo pork sandwich hot bbq sauce was so delicious. They make a ranch potato salad that is incredible. The coleslaw and pork n beans are better than my grandpas. When we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest lady working the front. Her family owns the business. They have live Blue Grass Band the first Saturday of the month. We found our self's loving it so much that we've eaten there 3 times in a week. I would give Suttle's at least 8 stars if I could. Yes, it is that delicious. Yes, you will leave completely satisfied. Yes, you should go right now. I'm from South Carolina and love our BBQ, but Suttle's takes smoked meat to an entirely other level! I can't praise the ribs enough - they are smoky and the meat just falls off of the bone. everyone is very scatter brained. Food took a long time to get to our table. Food was okay. Nothing is priced on the menu.

I have been here several times, both by myself and with my family. I keep hoping for more from the food but no matter what I get it is average at best. The BBQ is chopped and dry but they have goo sauces. Most everything else from the fries to cole slaw to the beans are the same thing you can get anywhere. Went in at straight up noon on a Thursday. At 12:45 after we found out it was going to be another 15-20 minutes before our food would come out we left. They were focusing on their drive through business while their dining room customers sat and waited forever. Yo top it all off, their menu has all of the prices whited out "because they keep changing". We ordered take out for a large party and all loved it! The pulled pork sandwiches were outstanding! The ribs had a very tasty rub and were falling off the bones. We had onion rings, fries, beans and potato salad for sides. FOr dessert, we had fried chocolate pies. The pulled pork sandwiches did not need extra sauce that was sent as the flavor was moist and tasty without. The buns were very good quality and full of flavor. Saw this little hole in the wall and thought I'd give it a try. Got the 2-meat with brisket, Polish, beans and slaw. Asked for moist brisket and got chopped. PROS: Fast, friendly service. Clean and cute decor. CONS: They chop all their brisket, which I prefer sliced and so it came out very dry. Thank goodness they have good sauces. The slaw is sweet, which is also not to my liking. AVERAGE: The beans and polish were just average Keep in mind I'm hard on BBQ Joints because I know what good barbecue is. read more

I just ordered the rib platter with half rack ribs, bake beans, Onion rings. Ribs fell off the bone and very juicy, bake beans dead on even though picked up onion rings crips. We ate here for the first time tonight and loved it! Prompt, friendly service and best of all...the food was fresh and delicious!

If you get BBQ get the slaw on the side or you'll end up with a soggy sandwich. BBQ is ok if you're already in the vicinity and for a small town like Beebe which doesn't have many choices, but don't go out of your way to come here. I'll go elsewhere next time even if I am craving BBQ read more

I don't like giving any place a bad review, but this was just not good. The BBQ did not taste like it was done on a grill or smoker. Tasted like it was done in the oven. I don't like my pulled pork pre-sauced, and this was. The mustard potato salad was too sweet and had more mayo than mustard. The green beans were too salty. The ribs were the best part of the meal. The sausage also had too much sauce on it. I just did not like it. read more

Excellent service. Great food. Family had everything from the pork to beef, ribs and a burger. Descent sauce but the meat has great flavor. Baked beans were solid and the slaw was light and crisp with good flavor. Fried okra was okay, fries were well above average. Meat portions could be larger for the price but it is worth it.
