And if Im being honest, I really don't know whats better, food or service!?! TLDR: Service was great but the food overall was a bit lacking. Service Rating: 5 stars Service was there, staff kept checking in on us and making sure things were good. Food Rating: 2 Stars Here's what we ordered: Walnut Shrimp, (2 Stars) Large Ox Tail Pho (2 Stars) and Bun Bo Hue (3 Stars) We were there during Happy Hour so ordered the Walnut Shrimp since it was $4 off regular price. The Walnut Shrimp was pretty small in size. There wasn't enough of the sauce and the batter was minimal. Shrimp wasn't as flavorful. Walnuts were nicely coated and sweet. This dish came out less than 10 mins after we ordered, which was very suspicious to us. Oxtail Pho - Pretty disappointing. The Oxtail wasn't as tender as we hoped. The broth? Overpowered by one of the spices (I think it was the Star Anise) and just didn't taste right. Noodles were cooked well. Bun Bo Hue - Broth was actually somewhat spicy to my surprise (I love spicy and can never find a good BBH that is actually spicy). But other than that was okay. Pho is usually my go to comfort food during the cold weather or if I'm not having the best day, for some reason it always seems to make me feel better, regardless of the weather temperatures outside . I was out and about running errands and wanted somewhere not too busy where I could just sit back, enjoy a nice meal and get my thoughts together, when i came across this location. I quickly pulled up google and yelp accounts to see what others had said about it and was interested after a couple of reviews that I had read. I found a small table in the middle of the restaurant. My server approached quickly. For an appetizer I order 3 egg rolls (stuffed with pork and vegetables & served with fish sauce), I also ordered a Thai tea and the pick any 3 meats Pho (I chose Tripe, meat balls & Duck ). This was my first time having duck in my pho and it was different but also delicious. My previous experiences with duck weren't the best , my take has always been that duck is too oily/ greasy to me. Still very much the case this time around. However, the greasiness of the duck paired well in my pho bowl and It was really nice and tender as well. The broth was piping hot and savory. The egg rolls were a 10/10, the Thai tea was 8/10, and the 3 meat pho was a 8/10. This location had some decent foot traffic. There were a few others dinning in but I did notice a lot of people coming in to pick up orders for take out. I enjoyed my meal & service so much, that I returned a couple of days later for take out. This time around I got an order of egg rolls again , their salt and pepper chicken fried extra crispy and the 2 meats Pho ( tripe and meat balls ). Similar to my dine in experience, I enjoyed everything that I ordered. I would have liked my salt and pepper chicken wings to be much more crispier, but they were still yummy. I wasn't too pleased with the price of the wings either . I paid $17 for just 6 wings, that to me felt like a rip off. For that amount it should have came with some fried rice or something. So i probably won't get the wings again. We came on a Sunday morning right at opening. The place looked welcoming and food came out in a good amount of time. I will say I love pho and I'm big on judging them by the taste of the noodles and broth. I will say that we were not disappointed. I always order the chicken pho with the chicken on the side. Idk I'm weird but my kids eat the chicken. My husband got a beef one. I can't remember which one. And we got the kids pho with the combination fried rice because we can't do pho without it in our family. The kids pho was a good decent size. My son also loves pho and he said he would love to come back again. Which we most definitely will. The only thing I will say is that the combination fried was ok. It wasn't horrible but didn't wow me but my daughter ate all the shrimp and loved them. The place was big so it could accommodate for big parties. Place Was also clean and we enjoyed our visit. Nam was an amazing host. Since it was my first visit, he took the time to explain the menu and how the dishes are served. I ordered the pork vermicelli, and my husband had the oxtail pho. The food tasted fresh, full of herbs, and well-balanced with a generous portion of meat. He also informed us about the drink specials. The freshly made margarita had me feeling good, and I later tried a basil martini, which was very refreshing. These were their happy hour options until 6pm. The worst dinning experience I have ever had. I hate to leave a bad review, but I ordered the pho with Filet Mignon. Although it was my first time to ever have Pho I never expected it to be sweet. When I told the waiter I didn't like it he never offered to give me something else or to take it off of my ticket. My son ordered the Fried Tofu Banh Mi he said it was okay. not good just okay. We received a $10 off coupon so we thought we would give it a try. We love pho and had high hopes. While the place was clean and the staff was friendly. The food took a while to come out, which is OK but not ideal and the food itself was very bland. The rice with broccoli and filet mignon was quite pricey at around $17 especially since the rice was dry and crunchy and the filet mignon was soaked in teriyaki sauce. The cherry on top was the fact that they handed out menus with "old" pricing which we didn't find out about until we were paying. when we asked them why it was $15 more than we expected. They said oh you have to check the QR code not the menus we gave you. I thought I'd finally found a Pho place in Midlothian, I was excited. Unfortunately it wasn't good at all. The pho broth is so incredibly greasy that there's no way to work around it or scoop it out. The round eye pho meat was like shoe leather. The crab rangoons are definitely not made fresh. The eggrolls were burned. The staff is not friendly and never bothered to tell us about any of the specials. I wanted to like it so bad I took it home to refrigerate and spoon the grease off. Doesn't work as it's pretty much all grease. The chairs are uncomfortable and hard to sit on for very long. Very disappointing. It's a big place but was empty when we were there. I'm so glad I didn't order the beef rib pho like I originally thought of because I would've been really mad at spending that much for a bowl of unflavored grease. I ran across an announcement about the soft opening of a new Vietnamese restaurant in Midlothian. With a sister spot in Grand Prairie already; Pho Duc has already established their cuisine and I was thrilled to hear that they were sharing their family recipes with Midlothian. We popped in late afternoon and were seated promptly. They currently have a shortage of menus, so we shared until I realized I should take a screenshot. But what a menu they have! Lots of choice and moderately priced, though eventually, we went with what we knew to check out the basics. I always order the Vietnamese eggrolls and my husband wants the fresh spring rolls with shrimp. I also decided on a Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi and my husband chose the Pho with "all the meats," a large bowl. The Pork eggrolls were flavorful, crispy and came with beautiful lettuce for wrapping and quite a few pickled carrots. I loved their dipping sauce because it wasn't overly sweet like so many are. The fresh spring rolls had perfectly cooked shrimp rolled with sliced pork and a giant plank of cucumber along with cilantro and the vermicelli. The peanut sauce was yummy. The cucumber was a little different, given the solid size; but it provided some interesting texture. My banh mi bread was the perfect conveyor for the sandwich. The marinated and grilled chicken was delicious and a generous serving. It had a single thick slice of cucumber per half, one round slice of jalapeño per half, pickled carrots, a smudge of pate, and some Cilantro sprigs. The sandwich appeared dry, generally, and I asked for some mayo. The sweet waitress came back - no mayo. I asked for a dressing of any kind and she returned with what I believe to be homemade Vietnamese mayo in a small dish. She just said "some of this is already on it." I usually combine a little mayo and Sriracha, so this offering, an aioli, worked out just fine. I love Bahn Mi and I know I am opinionated. The chicken was some of the best I've ever had and I would order anything on that menu with that chicken. But as for Banh Mi, I like more jalapeño and I prefer cucumber sliced into rounds that can cover the entire piece of bread, not one plank. I also like pickled daikon with the carrots. But hey ... that chicken. My husband found his pho very satisfying. A real carnivore; but soup lover, pho hits the spot for him. This bowl, a large, was way too much food for him; but he gave it his best shot. I tasted the broth and it had depth and unctuousness. A terrific pho all in all with a lot of meat, as advertised, according to my spouse. Pho Duc is all tables and chairs with a bar in the back. There's a style of stackable industrial bistro metal chair that's become popular in restaurants; but they're not all made the same. The seat can be too small and the side bars can bite into your hips with some styles and the chairs at Pho Duc were uncomfortable for us. I sat on the edge of my seat to eat; but my husband was really unhappy. He certainly loved his pho and the fresh rolls and we have more menu to explore. We'll still be back. Our waitress was lovely and checked in often as did the owner. We felt cared about. They're doing tableside checkout which has the drawback of not being able to see a receipt unless you ask to see the screen or ask to have one printed out. There's plenty of parking here in this Midlo shopping center near Brookshires. Pho Duc offers a few happy hour food items while they await a liquor license. Lunch Specials are from 11 - 3. read more

Atmosphere was really nice and even on a Sunday not super packed, but did not look slow either. I wasn't sure what to expect but the food was absolutely delicious. We tried: Deep-fried eggrolls - amazing flavor! Rice with Korean style, short beef ribs - ribs were so tender they fell off the bone! Vietnamese Sausage Banh Mi-- the sausage reminded me of homemade sausage fantastic! Vietnamese Chicken Banh Mi - probably some of the best flavored chicken I've had in a long time! Delicious!
