This place is a very cute hole in the wall restaurant. Upon entering, the decor makes this place cozy with a jungle vibe due to the plants. The service was great and the people were very nice. The lemongrass beef spring rolls were some of the best I've had. The beef was super tender and the veggies were very fresh. The broth of the pho was so good that I didn't even need any hoisin sauce. I only added a tiny bit of sriracha and extra extra limes because I love it sour. The meatballs in the soup tasted homemade and were the best I've had so far in California. I usually get #69, which is a lemongrass BBQ pork vermicelli salad. So good, it's my go to. I also like to get the BBQ pork spring rolls (#25) instead of the regular steamed shrimp. Don't let the fake review score fool you. I entered and was immediately greeted by a very nice, pleasant young man named Kenny, who returned to take my order. My Pho was delivered quickly and hot! All the side accoutrements were provided to include Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime wedges, and sliced jalapeños. It was a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere inside with piano music playing. The Pho Ga #3 was out of this world delicious!! The broth was extremely flavorful. I've been eating Pho for over twenty years and this was the best broth I've ever tasted. This is a family run business. Mom, dad, and the two brothers were there working and extremely friendly. I came into this "restaurant" twice trying to get food. The first time I was calling and calling to place an order, unfortunately, their phone system was down. When I arrived I was also informed their payment system wasn't working either. They would only take cash. I waited about 3 weeks before trying to get food here again. I work in quality assurance for a major health system and "hospitality" is my expertise. From the moment I step on the premises to when I walk out the door, I am scoring an establishment, I can't help myself. If that older woman is the owner, that is embarrassing, as she is completely unprofessional and a gatekeeper. I imagine her employees get harassed and are emotionally abused by her. The younger guy at the front needs to grow some confidence and learn to answer some general questions without the owner. He needed her for every question I had. If you work at the front and are the face of this restaurant, you need to be the subject matter expert and not run off to get someone for every little question. Is that his mom, IDK!? I visited this lovely establishment on a Saturday at 10:31a. Lights off and door locked. Google says it opens at 10:30a and so does the sign on the door. No biggie, I wait patiently, I understand things happen. Light turns on at 10:55a and I walk in. I ask when they open, Guy responds "10:30-11." I ask about catering and some other general questions. He states they no longer do catering since COVID. I understood and while I was asking some general questions like "Do I just order the plates individually then...?" he walks to the back. Cue the older woman and she comes out, no greeting, no warm welcoming, with an RBF. She states they don't do catering since COVID. Right, I got that part. I didn't go there for nothing, so I decided to try the egg rolls and the banh mi sandwiches to determine if I wanted to make a big order for the next day. I liked the sandwich! The egg rolls tasted ok and were the length of my thumb. I didn't feel it was worth the price. I'm Asian, don't cut them that short. I let them know that I wanted to put in an order, that I can pay today and pickup tomorrow. They already told me they don't take orders on the phone. At this point there's another employee, a younger woman, who responds saying that if I wanted to order the sandwiches, I need to come back tomorrow and that they don't take orders for the sandwiches specifically. Then the older woman chimes in again (while she was on FaceTime or watching something on her phone) and creates a barrier to this transaction. At this point, I realize, why am I still trying to find a solution? Forget it, they don't want to help me, which in turn is helping the re$taurant. They do not deserve my patronage. Oddly enough, there's hand written signs to the customer saying to be nice. How hypocritical. I will never go there again. P.S. If the older woman is the owner, I doubt she is the one writing the responses on the page. She doesn't speak that way, therefore, she undoubtedly doesn't write that way. read more

Service- Incredibly RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I went there with my son excited to eat Vietnamese food. Before being seated I requested to be seated at a different table than they pointed out initially because it was in the direct sun and in a small crowded corner next to the only other guest in the restaurant(they have about 25 tables that were empty). The host was okay to seat us at another table and gave us menus just to have the menus ripped out of my and my sons hands within 10 seconds of opening the menu by a server and told that "We can not serve you." I asked what was going on and he replied "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone." And that was that. Please note that they have a sign that has this posted on the front window. I have never in 50 years been asked to leave a restaurant. Me and my son got up and left, as I was getting in my car an older lady(cook/owner maybe) from the restaurant came out and I asked what we did to offend the server to get us kicked out, she replied you were disrespectful by asking to be seated somewhere else. After reading some of the other reviews I think that this type of poor service behavior is a pattern of kicking customers out because of a server or possibly owner is very sensitive. If you are the owner or manager please consider coaching your staff on basic customer service skills and patience as this was not something that needed to have this type of action and lost you money and potential future business. The host simply could have said this is the only table that we can seat you at or the server that pulled the menus just could have let us order and eat in peace. Super bizarre shocking treatment, I am not sure if the server had mental problems or maybe had been dealing with rude customers earlier in the day or over time, but I was not rude and did not deserve this treatment. Pho broth is very important but the two bowls had broth that tasted like either instant pho or the 30 minute cook methods that are floating over social apps. It was clear with a hint of grayish hue. Pho cooked over 5+ hrs with the rich hearty taste that an authentic Pho place is normally clear with a brown hue from all the beef bones. The meat was sparing. The "thit chin" was thin, but around the size of two fingers, round. The "tai" was chewy and flavorless (normally you'd reheat with broth to pack in the flavor). Both the small and Xe Lua bowls had the same amount of meat. The noodles were cooked correctly and neither overcooked or undercooked. However, the noodles were clumped in a ball in the broth when served. This occurs when it is cooked hastily and not shaken while straining. We also had a bowl of Bun Thit Nuong (grilled pork with vermicelli). The noodles were dried like it was made 2 days ago. The meat was seasoned but dry. The vegetables were not very fresh. Most importantly, the fish sauce was sour like vinegar and not how it should be for this dish (there are 4+ mixes of nuoc mam for vietnmese dishes). Disclaimer: I have eaten authentic pho from Vietnam in the north, central and South regions. I've eaten pho from "Bolsa" in westminster where there is fierce competition. I've eaten pho at multiple places in riverside. Had we traveled another 10 minutes to Pho Ha in Temecula, I would have had less to say. Service was decent. Our server was pleasant but our interactions were minimal so difficult to gage. The ambience was non existent. We were the only ones in the restaurant at 1 on a Sunday. There was at least 4 or 5 tables full at Pho Ha the Wednesday prior. read more
