We came to this spot on the way to a show at the theater down the street and felt good about how the menu looked. I won't get into the weeds but our server was generally apathetic and made up a fake food safety excuse for why he couldn't take back the rice I didn't order so I had to pay for it and the brown rice I asked him for.. The place has a great vibe, the clientele is cool and the food is great, the service left a bad taste with me

I just wish the broths were boiling beforehand because the table heats up pretty slowly. Aside from that, they have a really nice hotpot combo for $23.50 during dinner time and you can pick one broth, one carb, one protein, and it comes with a vegetable bouquet, so I think it's pretty affordable as long as you don't order any extras. It's individual hotpot so you don't have to share pots and worry about sharing. The mala broth is superb and I think it's so flavorful because they use pho broth as the base. It does get sweeter as it boils down, but I guess I kind of prefer that over regular hotpot that gets saltier over time. They have a nice sauce bar with a good variety and even have pickled onions and jalapeños. If you're looking for a spicy and zesty sauce you can try my usual combo of: garlic, chili peppers, barbecue sauce, cilantro, scallions, red vinegar, and squeeze two slices of lime. The meat quality is not bad. They have meat combo platters as well if you want to order more meat on the side. I tried the blue jolly expecting it to taste sour like a blue jolly rancher, but it was more sweet and too strong for my liking. I tried the lychee green tea and it was not bad, a subtle taste of lychee. Aside from that the place is pretty big and they also have a separate bar room that you can eat in as well since this place was a tavern/club. Anyways I'm going again for the 3rd day in a row!

The bread here has to be the crunchiest bánh mì bread I have ever eaten. It's still light and airy inside, but the crust is phenomenally crunchy and gets absolutely everywhere. The pickled vegetables are on point, and the combination ham and BBQ are exactly how they should taste. If you've never had bánh mì before, then I totally recommend this place. Holy moly. Very expensive. The rice dish was $20 plus $3 for egg and if you want fried rice another $2. For $25 bucks it was mostly rice. The highlight was the mee ka tahng, full of flavor and delicious sauce. Again, skimpy on meat... 3 shrimps and few slices of beef. Do I recommend this place, not really. Apparently, the food wasn't the hard part; getting the details finalized was. Between scheduling mix-ups, unanswered questions, and repeatedly having to follow up, arranging catering started feeling like a second job. I was looking for a caterer, not a project manager position. The manager has plenty of experience in the food industry, but there's a difference between knowing how to serve a crowd and knowing how to serve a customer. Generous offers are appreciated, but clear communication and follow-through matter, too. Unfortunately, the booking process took more effort than it should have, so I decided to take my business elsewhere. The takeaway: Good food may bring people through the door, but good communication helps get them there in the first place.
