I live in Westminster, but I find myself here at least once a week. I only have had pho here which is hands down my favorite of all the 10+ pho places I've tried around here. I don't think I have ever seen this place not busy whether it's a strange hour between lunch and dinner on Tuesday or 10:30 am. The service can be hit or miss, but they're fast most of the time. I was scrolling yelp looking for a new pho restaurant to try and found Pho Cafe. We made the drive out to Lafayette and were seated immediately. The restaurant has a strong fish sauce smell but I've found that to be the case with good authentic Pho. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer and continued to lookt through the rest of the menu. The mussels were to die for, and I was almost certain that we had found our new favorite spot! As for the pho, my boyfriend ordered the Tai Nam Sach (Rare steak, well done flank, tripe) and I ordered the veggie pho with no tofu. I am a pho fanantic! Because I'm a nerd foodie I have looked up how you're supposed to experience and taste pho. You're suppose to taste the broth before adding anything to it to get a good sense of the base your working with. My boyfriend and I agreed that this broth was less than what we expected in terms of the flavor. I thought the broth to be bland and watered down. I asked for chili oil and added Sriracha, jalapeos, soy sauce, garlic chili sauce and chili oil (I always skip hoisin as it's too sweet). After doctoring up my soup it was good and they get an extra star for having zucchini and all around a lot of vegetables but I definitely think they could step up their broth game. I've had better in the area. I might make the haul back to Cafe Pho to try some of their other dishes but if you don't live out here and are in search of amazing pho this isn't worth the drive, you can find better. read more

This was hands down the best bowl of pho I've had! I don't often order pho because so many times the broth is flavorless. Hubby and I had #1, and 2. Broth was perfect, noodles were delicious and the beef was perfectly cooked. We also had an order of spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce. This is probably the best Pho place around. Authentic quality pho with all of the sides. It comes with fresh limes, thai basil, bean sprouts and jalapenos. The rice noodles are always cooked perfect, and the broth is so tasty. The atmosphere is lively, as it's always busy. I always get the same waitress and she is wonderful! Who's to say they all aren't but she sticks out to me in particular. Even when the restaurant is packed she always comes and checks on us frequently and has a great attitude. There is nothing quite as comforting when you're sick as a big, hot bowl of pho. I called ahead and got 1 beef and 1 chicken to go. It was ready shortly after I arrived. We also got an order of the veggie egg rolls which were very greasy, but tasty. The pho was generous in size and affordable, very tasty. This is the best pho place I have ever visited- and we just moved here from the Bay Area, a pho Mecca. We were seated quickly and all the staff were so helpful and really friendly. I got vegetarian pho and spring rolls, and my boyfriend got pad Thai and a taro bubble tea. We knew it would be good, but not THAT good!! The pho was filled with herbs and fresh vegetables, and the medium size was huge. I couldn't stop drinking the broth. The pad Thai was savory and full of sautéed vegetables and tons of shrimp. I have eaten a lot of pad Thai, and this was hands down the best one I've ever had. The sauce was perfect. Spring rolls tasted very fresh with peanut sauce on the side, and the bubble tea was sweet but incredibly flavorful. Food came out so quickly and service was fantastic. 3.5 stars for me with the extra for the space and staff. I stopped by and was pleasantly surprised they had bahn mi sandwiches. I tried both the bahn mi with grilled pork as well as the spring rolls with added grilled pork. So I'll start and say that both were good. Why only 3.5 if they were both good was because for the spring roll, the grilled pork wasn't hot and I thought the peanut sauce was just ok. For the bahn mi, this had an overall good flavor and will definitely have again, when compared with my favorite from a place with sweet old ladies in Austin, TX, the things that could be better to make it a great sandwich was I like a true baguette better than the bread they used. Adds some crunch. Also the daichon - pickeled carrots, etc didn't balance the pork as well as I would have liked. Overall a good sandwich that I'll gladly have again, just not one I crave like the one mentioned earlier from the sweet old ladies in the back of the Asian market in Austin. read more

I love Pho, this is isn't the best pho I've ever had BUT it's great for Lafayette! I love it! The broth is very savory and delicious I get the meatball Pho and its DELICIOUS! The meat balls are fully cooked and perfect! They provide you with enough toppings and Hoisin and hot sauce! The bean sprout are my favorite! I also love their Spring rolls with shrimp! You get two very big spring rolls and awesome peanut dipping sauce, it's Delicious! This is one of our favorite places to go when looking for something quick, cheap and tasty. The pho is the best in Lafayette and I am especially grateful that I can get it piping hot when I have a cold without having to go far. We were seated when we arrived. We started our meal with the cheese and crab wontons. They were very yummy and were loaded with cheese and crab. I had the sesame chicken with fried rice. I requested it to be served with light sauce ( since most restaurants serve sesame chicken with too much sauce). It was very good - dough was light and there was lots of breast chicken. My granddaughter had a bowl of chicken Pho. She said it was the best Pho she has had and she has tried many Pho dishes over the past couple of years.
