Maybe I came on a bad day or something, but I immediately didn't like the broth in my tenderloin pho, I think it is 1A on the menu. It is very bland compared to other places I frequent in Houston. Not enough star anise I'm guessing. Service was non-existant, but I figured as much. They do give you an ample amount of meat in the large bowl I ordered, but not many noodles. The food is amazing. What makes this place different from V Bistro is that their menu actually includes combo plates that are extensive like the grilled pork plate with egg AND shredded meat AND egg roll AND a side of pickled veggies AND broth lol! Their Broth is significantly deeper & saltier in taste. I would also like to add that their Vietnamese coffee (dark dark coffee with condensed milk) is served well here. I just hate the staff during lunch hours. They seem to always be cranky or mean that it's not inviting or particularly professional. But hey! It's good food. read more

Saw the very high rating. My wife and I went there on Memorial Day for lunch. Ordered A2 egg rolls which was pretty good. However #1 large Pho noodle soup with every thing was quite disappointing, soup was very plain without much taste. We will not go back, can find much better Pho else where. read more

Well every other review was spot on. If you are craving Pho this is the place to go. It was delicious! But just like every other review the service was not service at all. You walk in, they ask you if you know what you want, and then you'll never see them again (unless you glance in the corner to see them playing on their phone). The decor is a little dated but the menus look nice and clean with pretty decent descriptions of the food. They also had a "specials" board, but we did not go look at it. The food is pretty competitively priced. It cost us about $30 for a family of four drinking waters. It would be a great place to get food to go as the service was sub-par. We will definitely go here again when I'm really craving Pho and spring rolls! read more

Lady with the short bob hair was super rude, kept smirking at me when taking my to go order and rolled her eyes when I asked for my bo luc lac to be made medium well. She commented we usually cook the meat well done. I'm like all the other Vietnamese restaurants have no problem when I make that request but whatever. I've never been before tonight but have wanted to try it--so I ordered to-go. I ordered the chargrilled pork vermicelli with extra fish sauce. I also ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls. I was disappointed by the amount of protein served with the bun. I don't know if it was because it was getting somewhat close to their closing time or just a stingy serving. I do have to admit that my other local go-to Viet restaurant always serves small portions of meat but they also don't give you very much vermicelli. When I order to-go from the other place, I always make my rice noodle at home. I'm sorry, but when I pay a certain price for a dish I've eaten for years, I know what the portion size should be without having to order with extra ANYTHING. I may have offended the woman who took my order when I asked if they served Mi Quang--which is my all time favorite noodle dish. I was just asking because their menu seemed pretty extensive. I will definitely go back and ask about the cost of ordering extra chargrilled pork with my order. I, am American, and My wife is Vietnamese. She has taken me to many Vietnamese restaurants around the Greater Houston Area. And we have discovered some good places you can enjoy high quality Vietnamese food and great customer service. Pho An however, does't come 10% close to any real Vietnamese restaurant, and I will give my reasons why.  First, let me say, we were really excited to try this place, since it was so close to home. We went inside and sat at the booth table by the front door, and we immediately noticed a strange odor in the air. Similar to a teenagers dirty room.  Then, because no one came to us, we were forced to grab some random menus off a different table. But we were still a bit excited to try the food.  We browsed the menu and made our selections. My wife selected the Pho Bo Kho, and I the Steamed Rice with Grilled Chicken and Grilled Shrimp. The server then finally shows up and does't even greet us. So my wife places our order. She also ordered a water to drink and a coke without ice for me. The server then returns swinging back and forth, a 20oz plastic bottle coke.Without a glass or straw and she sets it on our table. I felt like I was at the Shell gas station for a while, especially with the weird odor in the air. Then, the server returned again with my plate. You wouldn't believe but the server was actually swinging my plate front and back as well, as if she didn't care at all about her job or her life. She almost dropped my food on the ground. She sets the plate down before me and just walks off.  My wife put some sauce on my rice and I began to eat the rice before anything else. Then, I took a bite of the chicken. I was completely astonished how pale, flat, and unseasoned the chicken tasted. I couldn't even tell if it was real chicken. I took another bite, and I bit into something very soggy and disgusting at the same time. I could't tell if it was chicken fat or something else. After that, I tried a piece of shrimp. Again, very very flat and watery, like it sat in the freezer far too long. I couldn't take it no more. My wife who knows Vietnamese food very well, and is a great chef in the kitchen, told me that she knew immediately, how horrible it was, just by looking at it. So she packed up her soup, paid, grabbed me, and we literately ran out of that place, never to go back again. This by far, was the worse dining experience for us. It takes 1# on the worst service and food we have ever had! I'm surprised some of you are reporting differently. Maybe you haven't really tried any real quality Vietnamese food. But I guarantee you, it's not at Pho An's. The service and food was so terrible, it provoked me to write up my very first bad review of any restaurant. And I'm not proud of it. read more

This is the best Vietnamese food I've had in Humble! It's a quiet little hole in the wall, standard Vietnamese food, I usually order the Vermicelli with either beef or pork. Have been eating here regularly since they opened and they are consistently good. Service is quick and the restaurant (which used to be a Dairy Queen) is nothing fancy but it is clean. There is another Pho place nearby but it is usually jam packed at lunch time. If you want a more peaceful experience, try Pho An. read more

I just love Pho. Pho An is a Vietnamese restaurant that I'm quite fond of. It is located in Humble, next to the railroad tracks in an remodeled dairy queen. Now most of the items in this place are just Ok but as the name states the Pho is where it's at. An order of spring rolls while you wait for your #1 and all is good. Now this is not Mai's and I've defiantly had better, but it itches the Pho bug nicely. read more
