I came here on a friend's recommendation. It's quite a smallish place, with a very big menu. When I showed up it looked like I was the only non-Vietnamese in the place. That was a good sign. I ordered Bun Bo Hue. It was good. Not earth shaking, but just fine. I ordered the Large, but the waitress brought over a Regular bowl. She apologized for the mistake, but it took another 10-15min to bring my actual order. This is a rare mistake in Vietnamese places, so I was quite taken back. This place is a whole in the wall gem!! Amazing food great ingredients always hot so be careful. My fiancé and I have been coming here for the past 3 years and it is our go to for pho and what lever else they offer I have been told that I'm very picky in the places I got to eat and she was amazed that I had no complaints here I have visited this place twice in 1 day that how good this place is. I usually order large combination pho with 4X the tendon and my girl gets the vegetables pho it has an amazing flavor we would pair that with spring rolls and eggs rolls and chef special fried chicken and rice plate. Sunny and his sister know us by face and always sit on table 7 last night his dad came over and offered me some pickled jalapeños to add to my pho and it gave it an amazing smooth spicy flavor. When we got there we were greeted right away by two friendly people and were sat right away! We were visiting from out of town and wanted something warm and cozy in the freezing weather - Pho 99 absolutely hit the spot! My partner and I were planning on going to Vietnam House but it was closed. Since we were in the mood for Vietnamese, we headed over to Phuong Trang. The decor was simple, but our food came out quickly and employees were friendly. We ordered cha gio, nem nuong, hu tieu nam vang dac biet, and banh canh cua. All very delicious! Since then, I have taken my best friend there, and we ordered bun bo hue, cha gio, goi cuon with nem nuong, and banh xeo. We took a while to order because we were indecisive, but our food still came out fairly fast. We packed the banh xeo to go and had it for breakfast the next morning, and it was so good! Have not yet tried the pho, but this will probably be my go-to place for Vietnamese from now on. Phuong Trang is an excellent choice if you want affordable and authentic Vietnamese food! read more

The boyfriend and I were discussing whether to get pho or ramen when I came across this restaurant on Yelp, so we decided to try it out. First off, it's a very small place, but has charm to it. The menu was extensive and with so many choices we were happily overwhelmed and excited to try different items to test out. We both are from Maryland and have been unable to find a pho place like one back home, but this definitely came close. We started off with the egg rolls because we were starving. The filling was delicious, I thought the skin was very crispy, but the bf thought it was a little chewy. I got the pho #1 and the broth was delicious. The tripe was too chewy for my taste, so will not be getting that the next time. Other than that, I was very satisfied and finished the entire bowl. The boyfriend got the Mi Bo Kho and loved it. He said that it was plenty of noodles compared to other places in the TC. We both also noted that the service was very prompt and our servers were all very friendly. BEST PHO in Brooklyn Park. Tops all other pho places in BC/BP area. If you are around Brooklyn Blvd and Hwg 81, this is the place to go for pho. Go no where else! Eggrolls are good. They have a unique way of making it and it is very good. Fried rice is great. Also I strongly recommend their BUN BO HUE noodle! A must! Better than most places. After walking out of another Viet restaurant across the street, I found this one on Yelp. We didn't eat at the other one because of all of the dead flies next to our table. Yuck. If I had to complain about the cleanliness here, I would say that they should clean their windows more often. The rest of the place is modest, but maintained. They're served with what appeared to be sweet and sour sauce. Skip it. They are not breaded. I assume they are wok fried. Smokey subtle flavor. Moist and succulent. (I ate half of his huge order). I had a beef and broken rice entree. It came with cucumber and carrots on the side, as well as a bowl of broth soup. It was good, but not "crave" worthy. My partner spotted an item at the back of the menu. There are 10 to 20 items at the back of the menu. No description. If you don't know vietnamese, you have no idea what they are. Luckily, He spotted one that he knew. Bo Tai Chanh. It is a raw beef salad. If you do carpaccio, or steak tartare, Do yourself a favor and get this one too. It was $20.00. Getting expensive for a strip mall viet place. Worth every cent. I had some. He ate his fill. He had lunch the next day too. Get is as a starter to share for up to 4 carnivores. It is a very hard dish to find in the twin cities, It was a treat to find this quality version. We WILL be back, despite it being a bit of a drive for us. read more

Whether you go with the beef or chicken pho, fantastic! Food here is also very affordable. A meal for two usually runs me around $25 or less. I recently went to Minnesota for a business trip. I tried my best to sample the meals that the area was known for (i.e. "Juicy Lucy"). I wasn't really a fan of anything, and I was craving some sort of Asian food (after being sorely disappointed by an All-You-Can-Eat sushi joint in the area). I happened to be near Phuong Trang, and instantly fell in love. Once I found this, I ate here 4 straight days (not counting their day off). The food was EXTREMELY reasonably priced, and the staff was very friendly. I'm from Connecticut, and I have never found a Vietnamese menu quite this large. I am used to most places serving almost exclusively Pho (which I am normally not too crazy about). I tried quite a few things here, and everything was delicious. The Bo Luc Lac combo was probably my favorite, but the soups (wonton, hot and sour) and appetizers (spring rolls, chicken wings- as someone else had recommended) were also phenomenal. I can't recommend this place highly enough- I'll definitely be back if I am ever in the area again. read more

They have a huge menu here. The pho want so bad but a little too salty for my liking. I didn't think they would have a table big enough for 6 people but they did! I didn't know what to order but since I have my kids with me I just ordered pho so I can hurry up and eat because I didn't want my kids distracting other customers! Hahaha but the fried rice was ok, tasted like burnt eggs in something in one section of the fried rice. Tables are littered with employee's personal items, beverage cases are so streaky with handprints you can barely see inside and one time an employee was LITERALLY SLEEPING BEHIND THE COUNTER. I would give zero stars if I could. This is Pho 99. I was served what looked like sewage or sink water. There was garbage floating around on the bottom of my glass of water with what looked like spit or fish slime, with some dark crap which looked like coffee grounds, and pieces of hair. There were two Vietnamese women and one Vietnamese man worker there. It was the lady who took my order and served me this crap. I was there at 3pm around last week and they said the manager wasn't there so they're not serving anything else but pho. Which was ok because I was only there for pho. This is a common occurrence in other restaurants that I've been to where there is high animosity towards other Asian groups. This place should be reported to the health department. I was there with my baby who was fussy and had my hands full so I did not make a scene. Also there were only a few customers in there and they had all left by the time I left. We did not finish our pho, I had lost my appetite and did not feel safe and did not know what else was tampered with. I told the lady about the water and she acted like it was a normal everyday occurrence, she wasn't surprised to say the least. My husband and I have found this little place to be quite a find. Cheap food, but quite good. I haven't tried the pho here, but that's because I know my mom's pho is the best and don't usually get pho anywhere we go. My husband, on the other hand, gets pho whenever he can. He thinks the pho is pretty good here. I've had other dishes and have enjoyed them a lot! I recommend the eggrolls! Best Vietnamese eggrolls I've had. I've had a lot of people tell me Que Viet's eggrolls are the best, and I completely disagree. Phuong Trang's eggrolls have the same texture as Que Viet's, but they're less oily, less burnt, and has the perfect balance of filling and crunchy wrap. I love their bun dish with eggrolls and pork. All the flavors go wonderful together. We will definitely go back again. read more

I ordered a bowl of pho tai bo vien and cafe sua da with extra milk. My bill came out to be 12.07. I have never had to pay this much for pho and coffee. I think they ripped me off because I didn't look at the price. Anyways, the pho broth was very clear, noodles were hard and there wasn't enough meat for the amount of noodles I has.
