Went to Phuong Trang for lunch with 2 homies. First of all let me say I try to be understanding of family owned restaurants and having the elderly take order, because my parents are limited on English too, but it would be nice to have someone who understands the order. There was only 1 waitress too. I ordered the hot wings (I pointed to it on the menu) and they were not the hot wings when it came out, and beef meatball soup, the other 2 ordered pho. The wings came out and they were raw in the middle, I checked a few others on the plate, they were raw as well. I let the waitress know, she apologized and said "we get you new ones", great! While I waited, my meatball soup didn't come out yet. Both my friends pho came out, I waited 2 more minutes because she was taking orders. She went in and out of the kitchen a few times and still didn't come back with my soup, while I watched my friends eat. I finally asked for it and it came out in 30 seconds. My "new" wings finally came back out. Well, they were not a new batch. They took it and just put it back in the fryer, fried it to death, it was so dry I didn't bother. I did ask if they would give new ones and just received a "no". As you can see in the photo they were fried to shit! I will not be going back for business there. read more

Excellent BanMi. Haven't tried everything yet, but will be back to dive into other dishes. Lots of BanMi in the area, theirs stood out enough to review. read more

I travel for business and have had Pho in countless places and this is the best I've had. Chicken wings were also phenomenal!! Service was fast and friendly and the establishment was clean and welcoming. Not sure what went wrong with some of the negative reviews but I'll be back every time I'm in town. Thumbs up!! read more

I came here on a friend's recommendation. It's quite a smallish place, with a very big menu. When I showed up it looked like I was the only non-Vietnamese in the place. That was a good sign. I ordered Bun Bo Hue. It was good. Not earth shaking, but just fine. I ordered the Large, but the waitress brought over a Regular bowl. She apologized for the mistake, but it took another 10-15min to bring my actual order. This is a rare mistake in Vietnamese places, so I was quite taken back. I think I will come back and try other dishes, so I will update the review later. read more

Dine in Our family has been going to this family owned restaurant for a few years now. We have referred friends and family members to this restaurant. The food is good. Good flavor and good quality. The service however it's awful. Tonight we tried to dine in and arrived at 7:5O Pm, it was a last minute decision. The restaurant was full but there were a few open tables, the sign on the door stated open. The owner's son asked us if we had a take out , we said that we were dining in. We were told that they were already cleaning the kitchen and denied us service. As repeating customers it was very disappointing to see how badly we were treated. I could understand if they had no tables, but the restaurant was full. In the past we also have had poor service but we always let it go because we liked the food. Prices went up a lot, they also add a fee to the bill for using a credit card which was never disclosed to us until we asked for an itemized bill. This restaurant tonight, lost a good sale and a repeat customer read more

This place is a whole in the wall gem!! Amazing food great ingredients always hot so be careful. My fiancé and I have been coming here for the past 3 years and it is our go to for pho and what lever else they offer I have been told that I'm very picky in the places I got to eat and she was amazed that I had no complaints here I have visited this place twice in 1 day that how good this place is. I usually order large combination pho with 4X the tendon and my girl gets the vegetables pho it has an amazing flavor we would pair that with spring rolls and eggs rolls and chef special fried chicken and rice plate. Sunny and his sister know us by face and always sit on table 7 last night his dad came over and offered me some pickled jalapeños to add to my pho and it gave it an amazing smooth spicy flavor. This place is small so seating is limited they also have to go orders too. Thanx for being amazing and holding on through COVID we appreciate you guys. read more

First time here since they opened and I have nothing but great things to say about it. The owner Sonny and his family were absolutely amazing. Personable, smiles, and wonderful food. My daughter and I got take out (Pork Bahn Mi and BBQ pork fried rice) it's our safe option when we try a new restaurant. First of all we couldn't even wait until we got home to start eating it because the food smelled SO good! It's the best we've had. Period. The overall experience was one to remember. Thank you Sonny! 10/10. We will see you soon. read more

I had seen this little place many times as i shop in the area. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I made in a long time. I'm from WI and I'd never heard of peas and carrots in fried rice. I asked for no peas and carrots the young man asked first. So worth i. Everything was delicious, fresh and in abundance in size. I have turned other people on and they too continue to eat there. read more

I was looking for a quick Pho dinner, my usual place was closed. I stumbled on Pho 99 on google maps and I decided to try it. When we got there we were greeted right away by two friendly people and were sat right away! I had asked for the Bon Bo Hue and the Owner had told me that it was so popular today that he ran out and he quickly recommended me a similar pho. IT WAS SO GOOD!! I felt like a friend was taking my order and taking care of me during this entire experience. This place has great food, staff, AND music!! 10/10 recommend and will 10000% be coming back! read more

I love the B1. Vermicelli Salad.. the lady who works there ( probably the owner) was so cute and nice. Definitely will come back and support

We were visiting from out of town and wanted something warm and cozy in the freezing weather - Pho 99 absolutely hit the spot! We came in with a party of 13 and they seated us quickly and were so so friendly. All the pho was incredible! Don't sleep on the pandas soy milk - that and the Thai tea were absolutely insane! We chatted with the owner and he even dropped off some free goodies with us before we left. Everything was so delicious and it will definitely be a first stop on our next visit! read more

My partner and I were planning on going to Vietnam House but it was closed. Since we were in the mood for Vietnamese, we headed over to Phuong Trang. The decor was simple, but our food came out quickly and employees were friendly. We ordered cha gio, nem nuong, hu tieu nam vang dac biet, and banh canh cua. All very delicious! Since then, I have taken my best friend there, and we ordered bun bo hue, cha gio, goi cuon with nem nuong, and banh xeo. We took a while to order because we were indecisive, but our food still came out fairly fast. We packed the banh xeo to go and had it for breakfast the next morning, and it was so good! Have not yet tried the pho, but this will probably be my go-to place for Vietnamese from now on. Phuong Trang is an excellent choice if you want affordable and authentic Vietnamese food! read more

BEST PHO in Brooklyn Park. Tops all other pho places in BC/BP area. If you are around Brooklyn Blvd and Hwg 81, this is the place to go for pho. Go no where else! Eggrolls are good. They have a unique way of making it and it is very good. Fried rice is great. Also I strongly recommend their BUN BO HUE noodle! A must! Better than most places. Desserts is decent Vietnamese coffee is good as always, also a great alternative for dessert. read more

After walking out of another Viet restaurant across the street, I found this one on Yelp. We didn't eat at the other one because of all of the dead flies next to our table. Yuck. If I had to complain about the cleanliness here, I would say that they should clean their windows more often. The rest of the place is modest, but maintained. The yelp ad, says Vietnamese, Chinese, soup. From the menu, I would say that this is one of the more authentic vietnamese restaurants in town. I didn't see any of the sweet and sour, etc you see added on at other places. I had the egg rolls. Perhaps a tad over done. But great texture and flavor. My partner had the chicken wings. GET THEM. They're served with what appeared to be sweet and sour sauce. Skip it. They are not breaded. I assume they are wok fried. Smokey subtle flavor. Moist and succulent. (I ate half of his huge order). I had a beef and broken rice entree. It came with cucumber and carrots on the side, as well as a bowl of broth soup. It was good, but not "crave" worthy. My partner spotted an item at the back of the menu. There are 10 to 20 items at the back of the menu. No description. If you don't know vietnamese, you have no idea what they are. Luckily, He spotted one that he knew. Bo Tai Chanh. It is a raw beef salad. If you do carpaccio, or steak tartare, Do yourself a favor and get this one too. It was $20.00. Getting expensive for a strip mall viet place. Worth every cent. I had some. He ate his fill. He had lunch the next day too. Get is as a starter to share for up to 4 carnivores. It is a very hard dish to find in the twin cities, It was a treat to find this quality version. We WILL be back, despite it being a bit of a drive for us. read more

I come here all the time specifically because of their quick and prompt service but also because of the food. The pho broth is one of the best in the twin cities in my opinion. Whether you go with the beef or chicken pho, fantastic! Food here is also very affordable. A meal for two usually runs me around $25 or less. If you are ever in this area, I would highly recommend that you stop by! read more

The boyfriend and I were discussing whether to get pho or ramen when I came across this restaurant on Yelp, so we decided to try it out. First off, it's a very small place, but has charm to it. The menu was extensive and with so many choices we were happily overwhelmed and excited to try different items to test out. We both are from Maryland and have been unable to find a pho place like one back home, but this definitely came close. We started off with the egg rolls because we were starving. The filling was delicious, I thought the skin was very crispy, but the bf thought it was a little chewy. I got the pho #1 and the broth was delicious. The tripe was too chewy for my taste, so will not be getting that the next time. Other than that, I was very satisfied and finished the entire bowl. The boyfriend got the Mi Bo Kho and loved it. He said that it was plenty of noodles compared to other places in the TC. We both also noted that the service was very prompt and our servers were all very friendly. We have decided that this will now be our go to Vietnamese restaurant and can't wait to try other dishes next time! read more

This place has dying slow service. Also they vaule their own pwrsonal people before customers. We have been sitting at our table for a good 10 min after ordering our foid already and people they knew came in, sat and within 10 min got their food. We are still sitting without food. This is just wrong. The food is ok to good. This isn't my first time here either. read more

I recently went to Minnesota for a business trip. I tried my best to sample the meals that the area was known for (i.e. "Juicy Lucy"). I wasn't really a fan of anything, and I was craving some sort of Asian food (after being sorely disappointed by an All-You-Can-Eat sushi joint in the area). I happened to be near Phuong Trang, and instantly fell in love. Once I found this, I ate here 4 straight days (not counting their day off). The food was EXTREMELY reasonably priced, and the staff was very friendly. I'm from Connecticut, and I have never found a Vietnamese menu quite this large. I am used to most places serving almost exclusively Pho (which I am normally not too crazy about). I tried quite a few things here, and everything was delicious. The Bo Luc Lac combo was probably my favorite, but the soups (wonton, hot and sour) and appetizers (spring rolls, chicken wings- as someone else had recommended) were also phenomenal. I can't recommend this place highly enough- I'll definitely be back if I am ever in the area again. read more

They have a huge menu here. The pho want so bad but a little too salty for my liking. I didn't think they would have a table big enough for 6 people but they did! I didn't know what to order but since I have my kids with me I just ordered pho so I can hurry up and eat because I didn't want my kids distracting other customers! Hahaha but the fried rice was ok, tasted like burnt eggs in something in one section of the fried rice. Egg rolls was nice and crispy and enough salt on the filling so I would for sure order that again. Customer service was very nice! I'll come here again and try the other dishes! read more

Love this place, I'd eat here everyday if I could we come in at least once a week and bring our friends to try it. Love the owner he always treats us like family. read more

I cannot get over how dirty this restaurant is. Seriously dirty. The food is good but now that I've seen the inside of this place, I'll never eat there again. Tables are littered with employee's personal items, beverage cases are so streaky with handprints you can barely see inside and one time an employee was LITERALLY SLEEPING BEHIND THE COUNTER. BAREFOOT. Not an ideal ambience for eating, drinking, hanging out or literally doing anything. I am bummed because the food is decent, but I am so appalled by how disgusting this restaurant is. Can you say CODE VIOLATIONS?! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. This is Pho 99. I was served what looked like sewage or sink water. There was garbage floating around on the bottom of my glass of water with what looked like spit or fish slime, with some dark crap which looked like coffee grounds, and pieces of hair. There were two Vietnamese women and one Vietnamese man worker there. It was the lady who took my order and served me this crap. I was there at 3pm around last week and they said the manager wasn't there so they're not serving anything else but pho. Which was ok because I was only there for pho. This is a common occurrence in other restaurants that I've been to where there is high animosity towards other Asian groups. This place should be reported to the health department. I was there with my baby who was fussy and had my hands full so I did not make a scene. Also there were only a few customers in there and they had all left by the time I left. We did not finish our pho, I had lost my appetite and did not feel safe and did not know what else was tampered with. I told the lady about the water and she acted like it was a normal everyday occurrence, she wasn't surprised to say the least. I won't be eating here, and you should take your money elsewhere. read more

My husband and I have found this little place to be quite a find. Cheap food, but quite good. I haven't tried the pho here, but that's because I know my mom's pho is the best and don't usually get pho anywhere we go. My husband, on the other hand, gets pho whenever he can. He thinks the pho is pretty good here. I've had other dishes and have enjoyed them a lot! I recommend the eggrolls! Best Vietnamese eggrolls I've had. I've had a lot of people tell me Que Viet's eggrolls are the best, and I completely disagree. Phuong Trang's eggrolls have the same texture as Que Viet's, but they're less oily, less burnt, and has the perfect balance of filling and crunchy wrap. I love their bun dish with eggrolls and pork. All the flavors go wonderful together. We will definitely go back again. read more

I ordered a bowl of pho tai bo vien and cafe sua da with extra milk. My bill came out to be 12.07. I have never had to pay this much for pho and coffee. I think they ripped me off because I didn't look at the price. Anyways, the pho broth was very clear, noodles were hard and there wasn't enough meat for the amount of noodles I has. The waitress was nice and the overall service was fine aside from the guy who ripped me off. read more
