Grilled Pork

Yum!! So cozy on a rainy day! Pho was great and my husband got 2 of the bahn mi's and was pleasantly full. Vibes in restaurant are very basic, but service was quick and efficient! Loved it!

Pho 79 was so delicious! A small shop but the food is authentic and tasty. I got the grilled pork bahn mi and the fresh spring rolls. The pork in the bahn mi had so much flavor and had the perfect balance of crunch from the bread and veggies. I also loved the peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls. The staff were very nice and helpful. Great food for a great price, I will definitely be coming back here!

Pork and egg roll Combo

Ate here for the second time ever this weekend. Got the exact same dish and again I really enjoyed it. On my third trip I will definitely try a Pho dish. The service was quick and the food was very good and I left full and happy. I drink water only and did get spring rolls for an appetizer as well as my entrée so my total was over $28 and me that's a little expensive but it is a good meal.

Ordered from pho 79. Very good food I ordered the pork chop with rice and egg a char siu bahn mi. And the egg rolls. First off the plate lunch was good. The rice was kinda hard but the pork chop made up for it. The bahn mi sandwich was yummy with the right amount of meat and spices. The egg rolls were big and flavorful. But kinda expensive for only 2. And the winter melon tea was good tasty and flavorful.

Listen--I've had a lot of pho in my life. Some were too salty. Some were suspiciously sweet. One tasted like it had beef trauma. But THIS? This pho was wholesome. It tasted like someone's Vietnamese grandma whispered life advice into the broth as it simmered for 12 hours straight. The broth? Clean, balanced, and just a little kiss of spice. Not too salty -- like, finally someone understands we have kidneys. Every sip felt like getting a warm hug from a retired pho master. The noodles were bouncy and joyful, like they were excited to be eaten. The beef? Tender, thin, and basically a love letter to my tastebuds. Bonus points for the green onions and herbs -- super fresh, not those sad wilted ones from the discount bin. Also, the spring rolls? Wrapped tighter than my budget after payday, and the peanut sauce had me scraping the cup like I was on a survival show. If you're looking for authentic pho that doesn't need a gallon of water afterward, this is the spot. My only regret? I didn't bring Tupperware for the leftovers. Or a blanket. Because I could live in that broth.

Overall, our experience is good. The waiter that serves us is very friendly and gave well explanation on some of the food. Since I feel like eating something different, I ordered the noodle with soup (there's a lot of noodle submerged in the soup), with an add on of grilled pork and I really like the combination. The serving is generous, the grilled pork tasted good but some cuttings can be a bit fatty. My husband ordered the spicy beef pho with the chili on the side and it's really good too. They used different type of noodle that enhances the taste of the soup. The spring roll was fresh, paired with the sweet peanut sauce. Overall, we enjoyed our experience there.

Love this place! Service is friendly and attentive. Kinda a hole in the wall but that's what makes it so great ! The food is FREAKING delicious! My rare beef pho today was so full of flavor. Perfect noodles. And the Vietnamese eggrolls are heavenly! Wrap it lettuce with some pickled daikon and carrots then dip in the spicy fish sauce. So good !!!! Can't wait to go back again

A great place in the Old Mill area if one is craving for some Vietnamese food. Their menu is pretty straight forward and the food is really good! The service is good the the staff are responsive. I highly recommend their grilled pork rice plates.

After reading some great reviews by other Yelp elites, I figured it was time to try Pho 79. This Vietnamese place did not disappoint! The flavor of the grilled pork in the grilled pork vermicelli bowl is phenomenal. The pork was perfectly cooked and just the right amount of fat. It was salty and acidic and umami and grilled.... everything really comes together in perfect symphony. And that's just the meat! It also comes with a large portion of vermicelli noodles, fresh vegetables, and a dressing for lack of a better term. Again, it hits all the right flavor points. It is a must-try dish. I ordered takeout this time, but I am planning to dine in the next time so I can try the pho.

Spring rolls with peanut sauce

I had been hearing good things about Pho 79, and being fairly new to trying Vietnamese cuisine, I had to try it! I got the spring rolls for an appetizer, which were packed with shrimp, pork, and veggies, served with a thick peanut sauce that was to die for. I could only eat one before our meals came, and the portions are huge! I tried the vermicelli with pork and egg rolls. It was fantastic! Perfect temperature, meat was so flavorful, and the egg rolls were crisp. So much food, we definitely had leftovers! Easy parking in the Miracle Hills Plaza, and service was friendly and prompt. Definitely check this place out!

I love Pho. Just moved to Omaha and tried to find a new place. Got 2 of the 1P Pho TOGO. Just got home and it had 5 pieces of meat total each. Definitely will never be back and I urge everyone to try a different place. Paying $34 for 10 pieces of meat and rice noodles and broth is just wrong. Please don't waste your money

If you are looking for the best Vietnamese food in Omaha then you have to go here! We ordered the chicken wing, pho and their special. Everything was amazing, with so much flavor and I could not believe how good it was! The staff was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend Pho 79 to anyone looking for amazing Vietnamese food!

First time in. Decided to try lunch. There are lunch specials…read more We are not fans of pho per se, but we do enjoy a good seafood boil. The boils are the way to go. You can choose from a wide variety of seafood such as shrimp, mussels, lobster, snow crab etc. once you choose your seafood that you select your flavoring. Choices are Cajun, lemon pepper, garlic butter, or a mix of all three. Lastly, choose your spice level (mild, medium, hot, etc). We both selected the snow crab and snow boil with Cajun seasoning and mild spice. The boils also come with corn, potatoes and a hard boiled egg. Never seen the egg in a boil before. Everything comes out in a big plastic bag in a steel pan. Dump the contents out and prepare to dig in. Let me say that this is not the place to go out all dressed up. The boils are very messy. They give you an apron and plastic gloves, but still a mess. It was delicious. We also got a couple sides of hush puppies which were very tasty as well. Good portions. Staff was friendly and informative. Really great flavors in the boils. They did a real good job. Definitely worth checking out.

You should ha e explained to me what the server fee was. I would still have tipped good. It now I'll never go back.

We're visiting Omaha, NE for the weekend and was looking for a good pho place. We decided to give…read morethis spot a try since it wasn't too far of a drive from the hotel we were staying at. We did read through quite a bit of reviews and we figured that since a lot of reviews were older, perhaps there are some improvements so we gave it a try! I do have some thoughts and wanted to share a current review on our experience today. Pro to Food: We ordered 2 bowls of their beef Combination Pho. We absolutely LOVED how flavorful the broth was. We didn't have to add any additional sauce to the broth to enhance the flavor because the broth was already super tasty. Like many other reviews, the broth is a little bit more oily than we're used to seeing BUT we cannot deny how great the flavor was so that's a huge bonus which is why we didn't mind the "oily" broth! It wasn't too terrible. Just a little more oily than what we've seen at other pho places but it's probably the liquid gold! Cons: - lack of meat in both phos. Our bowls of pho had very little amount of meat so that was a disappointment. I didn't count how many slices of meat/meatballs but it was a lot less than we're used to. Several other reviewers said that same thing about this issue, but we were hoping that since it's been several years since those reviews were posted, perhaps things have changed but sadly, it's still the same. - pho sizes: they only have one size. It would've been nice to have different sizes in case someone had a bigger appetite. - ambiance/cleanliness: The entire place needs remodeling (walls, floors, paint). They need to remove all the chairs and tables, sweep and mop everything thoroughly, and then put everything back. It looks like a place that just opened and is still needing a lot of work. - TV: They had a TV that was playing a video shooting game (like Roblox). I have a feeling that this was more so as entertainment for the owner's little ones but as a customer, I thought it was inappropriate in a restaurant setting to have something like that playing in this restaurant space. I'm a mother as well so having my little one there while trying to enjoy my meal and trying to keep my child from not watching something like that was a juggle that I didn't appreciate. We did see the "Shortage in staff" sign at the front of the restaurant (by the entrance) so we are sadden to see that due to shortage in staff, they're not able to get things where they would like it to be. Hoping that in a few years, we'll see some improvements if we're ever in the area again! Overall, would I recommend this place? I'll say, maaaaaaaaaybe (only for the broth). There are a lot of things that can be improved to make the place more inviting & the experience better. We have a favorite pho place where we live so that is the standard that we look for when we're trying other places but we always like to keep an open mind and try new places especially when we're traveling. The pho broth here is phenomenal so hats off to the chef!

A friend had their birthday there recently - and unfortunately I was not super impressed. The interior looks similar to the outside, like it's been there for a long time and because of that, is a little run down. The service was great, especially since we were a large group. They were keeping all the drink and food orders straight, which was impressive. I had an appetizer and chose the Pate So, which are little puff pastries filled with a protein and delicious sauce. I loved these. I also had the meatball soup, which was pretty flavorful, but almost clear, so it didn't seem to have very much seasoning in the broth. And then for my entree, I picked the Sesame Chicken. It was kind of dry chicken and also in gigantic chunks, so was pretty hard to eat without doing surgery at the table. Ugh. The one other plus (aside from the service and Pate So), is that they are pretty inexpensive. So Saigon Restaurant has some good options, but others are not as awesome. It's a little dated inside and out, but the service is excellent, and you won't spend an arm and a leg. For those reasons, I still recommend trying them out, because you may find something you do like and not overspend on it, in case you aren't a huge fan.

Heads up, soft drinks come in a can so no free refills here, but water is available, thankfully. I treated myself to a strawberry lemonade with popping dragon fruit boba, and let me tell you, it was fantastic. Definitely getting that again. We started with crab rangoon. Service was a bit slow, even though it was not too busy, but the rangoons were worth every second. For the main event, we each grabbed a large bowl of pho. One special, one steak-only (mine), and one chicken. I love that all the sauces, utensils, and extras are right on the table. The broth is what makes pho, and theirs did not disappoint. The noodles took a little work, but everything came together perfectly. And the plate of sprouts, cilantro, lime, and jalapeño lets you doctor your soup just the way you like it. Lunch came to about $37 after tip (I covered the rangoons), which is a little steep, but considering I got a craft lemonade, a pop, a large soup, and plenty of leftovers, I think it was worth it. Honestly, the quality and quantity more than justify the price. I'm even starting to welcome colder weather just so I can enjoy this soup more often! I will absolutely be back.
