My first restaurant here in Omaha, Nebraska after moving from California! This place is right across our apartment so we decided to try it out. Our server was very friendly, greeting us as we got in. The restaurant was dimly lit, giving off a relaxing vibe while dining. My partner and I order the pad Thai with beef, basil chicken, and Panang curry with pork. The basil chicken was ok, missing a bit of the basil flavor as I tasted mostly salt from the sauce. The Panang curry was pretty good, however the portion sizes were a bit small. I was a bit disappointed in the pad Thai, because the flavor tasted a lot like Pad Kee Mao. The noodles were also a little overcooked so they were a bit soggy. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Omaha! The yellow curry is to die for, we come here all the time. The flavor explodes in your mouth! Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Bangkok Kitchen. We came towards close on a Saturday night. While service was a bit slow, we came towards the end of a big rush and the one server was handling both his dine-in tables and to-go take out orders so not judging this, he was doing the best he could. As any mom and pop shop I tend to seek out and find, prices are very reasonable and you basically get two servings for a curry dish. The tom ka soup was good, plentiful with mushrooms, onions and other veggies but I've had better in terms of flavor. I got red curry and my husband got panang curry, both at a spice level of 8. Plenty of meat and fresh veggies in both, the only con was we asked for more spice because we wanted more heat. We were also a little confused about the Panang because it seemed pretty similar to my dish and did not have fresh slices of jalapeño in it, which is typical of panang curries we've had previously. This could have been a misnomer where they were busy and gave us the same dish, but in any sense, it's clear they prepare their dishes fresh and made to order and I would return. I went to a conference in Omaha a few weeks ago, and my first night in I was crazing Thai food something bad. Popped open my Yelp app, and low and behold, this little gem was within walking distance of our hotel! So, we trekked out to find it. An unassuming yellow door led us into the smells of ultimately deliciousness. We were greeted and seated quickly with our party of four. The menu offers basic Thai fare as well as some interesting delicacies. One of my friends ordered a very spicy traditional Thai fish dish that I'd never heard of before, and she couldn't stop raving about it -- apparently everyone gets this dish wrong, but not here! I went the more boring route of Chicken Pad Thai because, hey, I am who I am -- I like it simple. I asked for a spice level of about 2-3, and what came out was perfectly portioned, perfectly spiced and perfectly balanced. The sweet/savory combination in this plate of food was off the chain. My friend and I went here for the first time this past weekend and I really liked this place. We wanted Thai food and we wanted to go somewhere that we haven't heard of or been to. We found this place and we are glad we went. We walked in, sat ourselves, and were greeted immediately. I ordered the Thai Iced Tea, a fried spring roll, Thai chicken wings and the beef Pad Thai. The Thai Iced Tea awesome and is the same as every other Thai restaurant. The fried spring roll was just okay; don't think it was worth the dollar. The Thai chicken wings were pretty good but just normal chicken wings to me; it must be the way they cook them to make them Thai. The beef Pad Thai was awesome. After the Children's Museum we decided to have lunch here because we though Thai food sounded good. We were glad we chose this place. The service was fast and the food was wonderfully priced. The server asked us how 'spicy' we liked it food on a scale of 1-10. Our party consisted of an array of choices. Jack got a 3 at the most, Karol choose a 2. BIL2 and I choose a 6. SIS chose a 4 and changed it to a 6 and Mom chose a 1. BIL2 and I thought ours was perfect. Jenna wished hers was a little spicier, it seemed as though her 6 was a 4 as originally asked. Karol, Jack and Mom all thought theirs was perfectly delicious as well. I got a Special Dish called the Shrimp Bangkok Kitchen. It came with veggies in the sauce and a side of white rice. SIS and mom both got the Shrimp Pad Thai. Karol and Jack both got the Cashew and Rice Dish. Nephew had a small piece of chicken. Our table also had Fresh Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoon The food came out as things were ready. Each to our own individual liking. The server was very friendly and even made a few jokes with us along the way. It was really pleasant. I know I would definitely be coming back here if I was in Omaha again. I had my usual red curry with chicken and a cup of hot tea. It was just as good as I remembered. It was fast and friendly service, and the curry was delicious. I can't wait for my next visit. Normally a lover of Thai food, I was extremely underwhelmed by my dinner at Bangkok Kitchen. Located downtown, it's a great place to grab a quick bite! It's currently take out only so make sure to call in advance! I ordered drunken noodle with pork with level 3 spice. In my to-go box, I got a decent amount of noodles, broccoli/bell peppers and thinly sliced pork. Overall, I felt that the taste was lacking and was disappointed when the pork was extremely overcooked. I also got the pad Thai chicken level 4 spice. They also provided a decent amount of pad Thai noodles, bean sprouts and chicken. Surprisingly, it did not come with some limes to balance the flavors. Overall, this was a good dish and was well balanced. I enjoyed the crushed peanuts! If you're looking to get some Thai food downtown and aren't too picky, then Bangkok Kitchen is the place for you. Dude is running around and needs some help. I asked for a Diet Coke. Be brought me Diet Pepsi. No thank you. I then ordered the crab ragoon. Meh. Definitely not homemade and tasted like freeze burn. I also ordered the yellow curry with potatoes. It comes out. Looks decent. I tried it. Taste pretty good. Spice level 7 (out of 10) was just right. Try to bite into a potato and can't because it's still raw. So I do what I never like to do. Send it back. Wait 10 minutes. That's ok. They're making right. Dish comes back. Guess what? Potatoes? Still raw. I pick them out of the curry and just eat the chicken and curry broth. Not sure what y'all are eating but this place is only rated highly due to lack of other options. read more

This was definitely a hole in the wall thai place in omaha. I would figure many college students from creighton come here to have mediocre thai food. The food i ordered was not too bad however the portion sizes were smaller than I expected. The restaurant was empty when i walked in at 6PM. I had ordered the panang curry and asked for a spice level of 7/10. It was not spicy at all. It was served on a plate which is fine however it cools down too quick. Enjoyed a delicious dinner from BK last night. The tender yet chewy edge on the Son-In-Law eggs definitely worth trying. Jungle Curry with Chicken (medium spice) flavorful, packed with veggies. Stir fry mixed vegetables with tofu (medium spice) also good, but probably not the best item. We picked this one with soft tofu. They do offer fried. Next time. Ba Mee Moo Dong pork soup, medium spice should not be missed. Full flavors of spice, sweet, salt, cinnamon and many more came through. Pork was tender and easy to eat. Definitely a repeat item. Very covid friendly. No one inside but the staff. One or two pickup orders entered respectfully while I was there. Proprietor properly wore a mask. I've visited Bangkok Kitchen on two occasions. Each time the restaurant was pretty much dead and the same gentleman and lady were working there. I'm not sure if they are the owners but they are super friendly and the service here is great. In our two visits our group tried a variety of things including pad Thai curry, spring rolls, wings, etc. the food is fairly bland compared to other decent Thai places like Salween. I really enjoy spicy food and the first time I ordered my meal as a 5 because often times Thai food is prettt spicy. There was no spice. Next time I ordered a 7 which would ordinarily be overkill and this time the food was a little spicy but no where near a 7. The prices are decent and I'm not opposed to going back as it's decent food but if I have a choice I'll pick Salween or another Thai place. read more

I want to start this review off by saying that I am a DIE HARD fan of Salween Thai. In terms of customer service, speed and overall experience, Bangkok will beat Salween a million times over. We were seated quickly, ordered quickly, and our server was very polite. We were also able to split our check into many parts, which was another plus! The food was very good as well. I ordered the pad thai with chicken, and, although I think Salween is a little bit better, I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal and the almost unanimous vote was that Bangkok is better than Salween! I have a feeling that we will be coming back here again. I visited my friends in Omaha for a week and Bangkok kitchen was so good we got it 3 times. Im considering moving to Omaha so that I can work there and eat there every day. Our waiter was the same waiter we had at Thai Kitchen several weeks ago. Very friendly and he mentioned the owner of Bangkok Kitchen is the father of the owner of Thai Kitchen. I ordered Pad Thai with spice level 6 of 10. Very good with light sauce not the heavy brown as is some styles. The chili sauce on the table is nice so you can kick it up a notch. My wife had panang curry which was very flavorful and strong on kaffir lime which is fine with me. The lunch portions were just right. Ordered son in law eggs for app but did not get a pic as they disappeared too fast. Food came out quickly and I'll be back. read more

There food was fresh, yummy and something I'll order again. I ordered the chicken Thai fried rice and a side of crab rangoons. The reason I didn't give it a fifth star is simply because in my experience, Thai fried rice is fishy flavored and saucy. Their fried rice was more something you'd find at a Chinese restaurant but it was by far the best fried rice I've had in the area. I also enjoy that they allow you to choose your spice level. I chose a level 5 because I like medium spice. I could've ordered a level 6 or 7 because it was not a medium spice. Now onto the crab rangoons...they were delicious. I had my doubts by the pictures posted but much to my surprise, they were FANTASTIC. They shell wasn't too thick and the crab cream cheese filling was to die for. They also give you a nice dipping sauce for them. My favorite part was the customer service. It was a blizzard outside and they were still there happy as can be. The man at the front counter was very personable. The freshness of their food and their superb customer service (along with fair prices) is why I'll be visiting this place frequently. read more
