Vegan Pad Thai

Great service, very friendly. They were able to make my Pad Thai vegan, which I appreciated. Good location and plenty of parking.

Broccoli noodles with chicken

This is a small Thai spot with a decent sized menu. Went here with a girlfriend for a quick dinner. We started with a Thai tea, which was tasty and not too sweet. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and would say it was okay. It was too sweet for my taste. I ordered a 7 spicy and it was more like a 4. The noodles were cooked well with a bit of tomatoes, basil, and a good amount of bean sprouts. My friend ordered the broccoli noodles (pad see yew) and I would rate it about the same in all aspects. The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night with just a couple of other groups when we walked in. Overall it was an okay experience.

Dining room

Went out tonight for a meal. Been here before but it's been at least four years. The last time I went was over lunch. Iremember it being very good and peaceful as the dining room was not very crowded. Tonight for dinner they were doing some hard-core take out as people were coming and going through my entire meal. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken. I Got the spiciness of mine with a four out of 10. To be honest there was absolutely no spice in my meal but that's OK I would rather have it be under spiced than overspiced. As I remembered the pad Thai was very good and the portion was perfect. I left full and happy. Along with the pad Thai came a spring roll and another little dough type of item which the name escapes me. The service was fine as well. Good stuff.

Tofu, Noodle, Broccoli

My good friend treated me to dinner at Thai Spice. We were the only people in the entire restaurant at 6:45 pm on a Saturday night, besides another couple at a table on the opposite side of the room We decided to share an order of Thai veggie crispy spring rolls. It was good, but I am sure bought frozen and fried. The sauce with it had a little kick to it, which enhanced the standard crispy roll flavor! I ordered the Thai Spice Beef Salad. My friend got the Broccoli Noodle with Tofu. I spit out the first bite of beef as it was tough and simply not chewable. Mind you I had asked what kind of beef they used to avoid ordering tough beef. I tried a second bite and spit it out to as trying to chew on tough, dry and inedible rubbery beef was simply YUK! My friend tried a piece of the beef and spit it out too!!! She ended up sharing some of her meal which was tasty especially the tofu. I told the lady who stopped by our table that she said the beef was their most tender when I ordered it, but my salad topped with beef was too tough and dried out to even chew. I got no response and she just walked away! To me this is totally unacceptable!!!!! I took pictures of my Thai Spice Beef Salad when it first arrive and again after a few bites showing it was barely touched! My friend who was treating me to dinner felt bad and kept apologizing. The restaurants staff should have been apologizing and offering an alternative. Obviously I would never recommend or ever return here again!

Broccoli Noodle (Pad See Eew)

Thai is usually on my mind and when I have the opportunity to try a new Thai restaurant with a friend I act on it. I had heard of Thai Spice from a few social media accounts and was intrigued by their affordable prices for both lunch and dinner. The menu had a decent amount of options to choose from, including some Thai staples. When I entered the establishment, I did have to wait for a while at the front to be seated. I understand that it might have been due to limited staff as it still is the case in many places. When I visit a Thai restaurant for the first time I usually order a classic. I have found if a restaurant can nail the classics then it can succeed with other dishes as well. One of my go to Thai dishes is Pad See Eew. The portion sizes of this Pad See Eew were satisfactory. Additionally, my friend and I were served quickly. However, I was not a fan of these noodles that were severed with my dish. They were slightly thicker and shorter width wise then other Pad See Eew dishes I have ordered. A personal preference but I prefer my rice noodles in this dish like fresh, silky cut sheets. Lastly, the brown sauce was good but it lacked that fresh Thai flavor that I so enjoy.

Pad Thai - yum!

The best Thai restaurant in Omaha. It's small and there isn't much seating, but most of their orders are for takeout anyways. And with Covid, that's all I'm doing now anyways. The gal who works the desks and takes orders is a sweetheart. Everything is always hot, fresh and delicious. Get the vegetable balls and spring roll appetizers! My boyfriend and I are obsessed with them. And the sweet chili sauce served with them is heavenly. I could drink the stuff! The pad thai and yellow curry chicken dishes are always my go tos. You can't go wrong with either. I've been coming here for Thai for at least the last 15 years and they've always been consistently top notch. You get a good amount for your money too.

green curry with chicken

Some of these reviews are accurate. The Pad Thai is way too sweet. For carry out we ordered the Pad Thai two ways; I had the heat at 4 and my friend had it at 11. We also ordered the Green curry with chicken. The gal on the phone seemed rushed when I called in but finally came to my level after several questions. The food was there waiting for me when I arrived just under 20 minutes later so that was nice. The best part about the meal are the small bread donut rolls which I believe are considered vegetable rolls. Those were pleasantly flavorful with the dipping sauce and we weren't expecting those because it doesn't say anything on the menu about getting those or the spring rolls. I don't eat spring rolls so I didn't try one but my friend didn't care for them. The curry had good flavor but the chicken was tough and the sauce was way too runny. The Pad Thai was way too sweet and contained too many bean sprouts. The heat was low in both dishes. The chicken was also tough in these dishes. The runny curry and the sweet sauce on the noodles of the Pad Thai is enough to turn me away. This is my second time trying here and this experience was worse than the first of which I would have reviewed at 3 stars. I don't like offering free advice but this place has been around for 20 years. I like to support small businesses as best as I can. Clearly the menu is saturated creating an enormous challenge for the chef. After reducing it I'd also cut the heat options. Then expand the hours a little and remain open on Sunday. Best of luck.

Ginger fish

The food was very average, but the people inside were very kind. I could have used a little more catfish in the ginger fish, but otherwise it was fine. I will probably order something else if I return.

Just above average for a Thai restaurant. I admit that I do set the bar high. I want creamy, spicy curry. Lots of veggies and Tofu. At least I get tofu here. The service is pretty quick and it has a definitive Mom and Pop feel. My food is always hot, just not that spicy. There is no Panang curry on the lunch menu and I was told they could fashion some for me. It was off, but whatever. It is close and convenient for me. I will be back. On the plus side, the vegetarian rolls are vegan and pretty good

Thai spring rolls

I was browsing Yelp and Thai Spice was mentioned as one of the best places to get Thai food in Omaha. My husband and I were planning to go to the Saigon but I mentioned that I was interested in trying this place so we decided, why not? I am not schooled in Thai cuisine whatsoever so I don't really have much to base my rating off of. It's a small restaurant but clean and nicely decorated. We were greeted and seated immediately as there were only 4 other diners. The water was brought immediately but we were never asked if we'd like something besides water. We were given a few minutes to look over the menu and by that point all we knew is that we wanted the Thai spring rolls, which were absolutely delicious btw. I was not sure what I wanted and I do what I often do, panic order, as the server came back 5min later to take our dinner order. I ended up getting the Fisherman's Soup which comes in a volcano pot which was pretty cool and kept the soup nice and hot. My husband ordered the seafood pad Thai. The fisherman's soup was chock full of seafood, and not just shrimp which was nice. It had mussels, calamari, scallops (about 2.5 of small bay scallops), and shrimp. First off the soup was waaaaaay too sour. Almost inedible in my opinion. I love hot and sour soup but this made my mouth hurt. All of the seafood besides the scallops and shrimp were extremely overcooked and very chewy. The seafood Pad Thai, which my husband ordered a level 4 in spicy, was not in fact spicy at all. If I had to guess they forgot the spice. It was actually quite sweet and very peanuty. It was very good though, just not quite what he wanted. for my first experience I am giving it a 2 star rating. I will definitely return and order something different to get a better idea of what the restaurant has to offer. I will ALWAYS get the spring rolls though because seriously...I wish I had some right now.

Pad Thai was too fishy. Fish sauce over the top.

I'm truly surprised by all the rave reviews. I was in the neighborhood running errands and my beloved Salween Thai would not answer their phone for me to call in for takeout in time for closing. So I gave up and just yelped another Thai place. I ordered the standards: pad thai with beef, fried spring rolls, and thai tea. Not only were the spring rolls disappointing but the thai tea as well. The spring rolls were filled with just bean threads and cabbage. Really?! Cabbage and bean threads only?! Such a let down. Pad Thai was overly pungent with too much fish sauce and sugar. Beef was in cubes and very tough and chewy. Not sliced to tender perfection like how it should be. Thai tea was alright but too much condensed milk. Total was $17.99 much more than price of Salween. Not worth it. Go to Salween Thai or even Mai Thai for much better and authentic thai food.

Pad thai w/tofu

The only things I've ever had here are the pad thai and the fried tofu appetizer. The tofu appetizer is amazing and I always burn my mouth because I'm in such a hurry to shove that deliciousness down my gullet. The pad thai is usually good, but last night, not so much. I had only ever gotten a 4 heat level (out of 1-10), which was just the right amount of heat for me. However, the last time I went (before last night), it was too spicy for me to eat. So this time, I was wary and decided to get a 3. Of course, it came out so sweet it tasted like a ketchup sauce. :( Also, the tofu this time was underwhelming. They had taken a piece of already-fried tofu and just sliced it up and added it (so only part of it had crispy skin). This is probably neither here nor there for most people, but last night after I left, my whole mouth was red and swollen. It looked like I'd drawn red lip liner outside my lips to make them look twice as large, lol. I'm guessing that someone dumped half a tub of MSG in my pad thai. I've never had that reaction here before, so it was probably a fluke (like the extra, extra spicy level 4). That only matters to those who are sensitive to MSG...the rest of you can carry on. :) At any rate, I'll probably be back. When this place is good, it's really good...it just isn't consistent.

Mercy Thai, perfect char and umami flavor.

The Pad Thai is delicious! Portion wise, if i can't finish a meal that costs under $15, then it's a good portion for the price!

I Love Pad Thai II - Chicken Pad Thai

I Love Pad Thai II

(42 reviews)

Millard, West Omaha

I do love pad thai itself, but I unfortunately did NOT love "I Love Pad Thai" the restaurant…read more We ordered it for delivery when we were working one day and couldn't make it out for lunch/didn't have time to make lunch ourselves. I know everywhere is better if you eat it inside, but if they offer delivery, I think that it should be about on par with what you get in the restaurant (because they certainly charge the same or more than dining in). This either was just not great from the get go, or it lost a LOT of quality in the delivery time. I don't think that's the case, because a delivery time doesn't make most of the food almost FLAVORLESS. Cold, maybe - but flavor doesn't vanish from it being delivered? So if you couldn't tell, we were not fans of almost anything we received. My Pad See Yew was literally flavorless. It tasted like WATER was used for the "sauce" on it. The chicken in it was also very stringy and dry. My husband got the Pad Thai, which did have a little bit more flavor, with the peanut sauce, but not a whole lot more. The only saving grace was the fried dumpling appetizer we ordered. Those were tasty and the dipping sauce they came with was good (it said it was just soy sauce but it wasn't super salty like soy sauce, more sweet). At almost $50 for two entrees that were basically untouched because they were so dry and flavorless, I would say order elsewhere or dine inside so you can gauge what you are getting in person.

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty. I ordered pickup and it was ready…read morewithin 10 minutes. I ordered pork red curry and they were very skimpy on the meat. There were just three shreds of pork and the pork definitely wasn't fresh. The spice level was OK. The broth tasted a bit off--and smelled off in fishy/old kind of way. I don't think I'll be coming back here.
