Drunken noodles
Ankita S.

As a medical student, I lived off the Salween Thai on Saddle Creek, specifically their drunken noodles. Since being back in Omaha, I had not had a chance to revisit an old favorite until recently when my husband and I went with some family. Because of our larger group of 7 of us, the Pacific street location was more easily accessible to everyone, so that's where we went for dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant is very spacious! There are plenty of tables, but a lot of unused space as well. There is also a bar area in the back of the restaurant that is unused as they don't serve any alcohol. There are a few pieces of artwork, but overall there really wasn't much of a vibe. We were greeted soon after we walked in and were seated immediately at a table in the back corner...and then were forgotten about for an hour. During this time, no one gave to get us water, make sure we didn't have questions about the menu, or to see if we were ready to order. During that time, someone from our group went up to a staff member two separate times (separated by 10 minutes) to get them to our table. Eventually a nice waitress did come, bring us water, took our order, and got our food in a reasonable time. She also explained that they were really short-staffed. I feel like they knew this when they seated us, however, and could have told us that they can seat us immediately but it would be a wait to get our food - we probably would have gone elsewhere. The food, itself, was tasty and flavorful. Our group got vegetarian egg rolls to share and my husband and I shared the Pad Thai Woon Sen with tofu and the drunken noodles with tofu. The egg rolls were really nicely crispy and the filling was very good. The entrees were nicely portioned and very good. The Pad Thai Woon Sen, in particular, was surprisingly good - the glass noodles really make this dish! We also asked for some chili oil - the spiciest I have ever had! While I personally really liked it, several members of our group had a harder time with how unexpectedly spicy it was. While the food was decent, the service was less than desirable. I would probably not go back to this location to eat in (would love to try the other locations though) and would prefer take out from here.

Fried Egg Rolls

I was definitely craving some delicious pad Thai tonight and Salween pulled through (as always)!! They offer online ordering so I order my pad thai, fried egg rolls, and fried shrimp online and it was super easy! There are lots of parking and they have a huge sign if you are unaware of where they are located! The customer service was so nice and easy! They also have a huge space inside for dining if anyone ever wants to dine-in instead of grabbing takeout. I had my slice level as a 5 for my pad thai and I will make sure to make it even spicer next time!! Overall, it was so delicious and much needed comfort food. Cannot skip out on the egg rolls!!! They are so crunchy and have that vermicelli noodles in them and is just so good I should've ordered 2!! The fried shrimp are always top notch! Next time, I'm definitely going to try their sticky mango rice and get some refreshing thai tea along with it! Definitely check them out, they also have multiple locations in North and West Omaha!

Yellow Curry and Spring Rolls

I met a friend here for dinner and it was the first time I'd ever tried Thai curry. It was so good! The spring rolls were delicious as well. The ambiance in the restaurant was nice. It is a very open layout, and it's nice to be able to see everything. The service was also great. My favorite part though was how the rice came to the table. I loved the presentation! Anytime I want Thai in the future, I know where I'm going!

Pad Thai

best Thai food I've ever had!! Pad see yew & pad Thai are my go to's! Highly recommend - really popular for Creighton students but they've expanded their locations to around Omaha! Service is usually pretty fast (unless there is a line) and ambiance could be better but the food makes up for it in all senses.

Ginger Delight

This place had quick service, and good food, I ordered the Ginger Delight and the Spring rolls.

Chicken Pad Thai

I have visited this location many times in the past few years and always find myself coming back for the delicious food. I have tried many things here from the Penang curry to pad Thai to Tom Yum noodle soup and pad see yew. All taste very good with my favorite being the chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai is full of flavor-so delicious! It is probably one of the my favorite places in Omaha to get pad thai. I came for lunch recently and got a pretty big portion of noodles, though sometimes I come and am disappointed with my portion size. I do feel overall in the last couple years the portions have gotten smaller. Now, for the service, I will echo many other reviewers, and that the service is not the greatest. Every time I come I always expect to wait a very very long time for my food to arrive. The place always appears short staffed, with maybe 2-3 people having to handle serving all tables and the many to go orders. The most recent time I came for lunch, we did not receive waters for such a long time and did not get any silverware or napkins until after our food was served and we even had to ask for it. The servers don't really check in on us either. Overall, despite the service lacking, I always end up coming back because the food is very delicious.

Thai Noodle Soup

This is my favorite place to get Thai food in Omaha. I love asian noodle soups and my favorite dishes here are the Thai Noodle Soup and the Tom Yum Noodle Soup. Other classic dishes I would recommend are the chicken pad thai and the panang curry. As others have noted, service here is hit or miss but I will always come back and will still award 5 stars because the food is consistently excellent.

Spicy Tom yum kai soup!
Chad W.

Love love love some Salween. Can't say I've ever had a bad dish from them. I normally have the chicken Larb salad which I always get Thai hot. Which would be an 11. Love it! Spicy! Last night I got Tom yum kai soup and chicken Panang curry. So were absolutely delicious! I'm happy they opened this new Salween on pacific st. They always greet me with a smile as well and food is always fresh and Hot! I could go on and on but there is no point to. For sure Omaha's best Thai! Ok this Salween location needs to fix their service situation bad. He Foos is still awesome as always but the service is awful and beyond slow. Today there was only 3 other tables with people and it still took 45 mins to get our food. Last time I went I was there almost 2 hrs. Not sure what's happening but they need help

Salween Thai Sampler - Egg rolls, fried shrimp, samosas & fish tofu

This place has some extremely bad service. I came in to pick up my order that I ordered online, and there was nobody at the front desk. I stood there for a while hoping someone would come but I never got attended to. On top of that, the staff DID notice me several times but each time they chose to ignore me and find other people to help in the dining room instead. I was forced to go behind the bar on the far right side of the place and get the food I ordered myself because all of the staff refused to help me. Yes I did pay for the food beforehand; I will put the receipt in my pictures. All of the food tastes just fine, in fact its all really good - the Salween Thai sampler and the Pad Thai Woon Sen all tasted great. But this place, out of all the places I've ever been to, has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I honestly don't recommend this place. It really is disappointing that I have to leave this rating because the food is honestly very good. I'd like to believe that this place will improve their customer service, but I see from the ratings that this place does have a history of bad customer service. I was considering giving this place 2 stars and not 1 star because of how good the food is, but I can't forgive how the staff blatantly ignored me even after seeing that I was there. Plus as I said, I see a lot of other people complaining about the customer service here so they clearly haven't changed and probably have no plans on changing, so I will not be returning here. I expect far better from a place that is voted as supposedly one of Omaha's best Thai eateries. It has to be the food here that people are voting for because it sure can't be the service.

Outdoor patio of new Salween looks great!!!!! (Not open yet as of 4/30/18)

I Love Pad Thai II - Chicken Pad Thai

I Love Pad Thai II

(42 reviews)

Millard, West Omaha

I do love pad thai itself, but I unfortunately did NOT love "I Love Pad Thai" the restaurant…read more We ordered it for delivery when we were working one day and couldn't make it out for lunch/didn't have time to make lunch ourselves. I know everywhere is better if you eat it inside, but if they offer delivery, I think that it should be about on par with what you get in the restaurant (because they certainly charge the same or more than dining in). This either was just not great from the get go, or it lost a LOT of quality in the delivery time. I don't think that's the case, because a delivery time doesn't make most of the food almost FLAVORLESS. Cold, maybe - but flavor doesn't vanish from it being delivered? So if you couldn't tell, we were not fans of almost anything we received. My Pad See Yew was literally flavorless. It tasted like WATER was used for the "sauce" on it. The chicken in it was also very stringy and dry. My husband got the Pad Thai, which did have a little bit more flavor, with the peanut sauce, but not a whole lot more. The only saving grace was the fried dumpling appetizer we ordered. Those were tasty and the dipping sauce they came with was good (it said it was just soy sauce but it wasn't super salty like soy sauce, more sweet). At almost $50 for two entrees that were basically untouched because they were so dry and flavorless, I would say order elsewhere or dine inside so you can gauge what you are getting in person.

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty. I ordered pickup and it was ready…read morewithin 10 minutes. I ordered pork red curry and they were very skimpy on the meat. There were just three shreds of pork and the pork definitely wasn't fresh. The spice level was OK. The broth tasted a bit off--and smelled off in fishy/old kind of way. I don't think I'll be coming back here.
