Back at Saigon today. As always the service was very friendly and attentive. The crispy spring rolls are Always insanely delicious specially with the Vietnamese fish sauce. The Pho I would give a (4) of 5 . While it's hot and great noodles the broths depth of flavor isn't quite as good as others I've had. All and all I still love this place.
Joined some friends for lunch. I have eaten here before. Casual restaurant. Service was good except for a $30 overcharge that friend brought to waitstaff's attention for removal. It was on the cook side inside the restaurant. I ordered the grilled lemongrass chicken. Others had seafood clear noodle soup and chicken claypot. No complaints except person that ordered the soup said it wasn't what she expected. That's on her. Her mango-pineapple bubble tea was partially frozen. I enjoyed my plate. The fish sauce was a nice addition. I do like the spot.
Our first time here and the food was pretty good! We ordered the spring rolls and chicken wings for apps and had the wonton soup and a vermicelli bowl for our entrees. The service was pretty good everyone was pretty friendly. A very chill atmosphere as well!
This was our second visit to Saigon Thai within a month--so good we had to come back! The food is incredibly tasty and feels truly authentic, with a menu that has something for everyone. We really appreciated our waiter both times for giving us spot-on recommendations. The BBQ pork chop (pictured) and the beef stew pho (not pictured--oops!) have been our favorites so far. Everything we've tried has been excellent, and we can't wait to come back and try more. Quiet atmosphere, and bonus points for the abundance of booths--always a plus!
I wanted to try out other Vietnamese restaurants around the area so I wanted to give this place a chance. It was a bit busy during lunchtime so we had to wait for a little bit before we got seated. I ordered the Quang style noodle soup while my partner got the grilled lemongrass pork meatballs vermicelli bowl. We also got a plate of Saigon Chicken Wings and egg rolls as our appetizers (forgot to take a pic ) The wings weren't anything special, they just tasted like standard fried chicken. I was hoping it would be like the fish sauce glazed chicken wings that I'm used to seeing at Vietnamese restaurants (cánh gà chiên nước mắm). The egg rolls came with a side of fish sauce as a dipping sauce. The fish sauce was way too sweet and I could barely taste any fish sauce. For the main food, the Quang noodle soup was just ok. The broth was a bit too sweet to my liking and didn't have much flavor . However the portions were good and there were a lot of toppings. The vermicelli bowl was also just alright. The meatballs didn't have much lemongrass in them so they kind of just tasted like ordinary meatballs. Overall, this place was alright. I would come back to try out other foods though
I'm gonna give this place 4 stars. I am a recent transplant to Nebraska from the west coast. I love Pho and have been searching for a decent bowl since moving here. I have got to say, as Pho goes, Omaha tends to fall short. I kept hearing how great the Pho is here at Saigon. I tried it and admit it is good compared to the others around town that I have tried so far, yet it still falls a little short as well. Don't get me wrong, the place is amazing. The other food I saw and had was fantastic. The pork spring roll was outstanding. The service was superb!! I had a decent meal, and found the place to do a steady dine in and take out business. Those are all great signs of a good restaurant. However, my search goes on for the perfect bowl of Pho here in Omaha (Remember people, it's all in the broth)
I'm actually struggling to review this place, because it's so good that I know if I give it the review that I want to give, then it's going to start getting busy and then I'm going to have a harder time getting a table, but the food and the service are so good that I'm compelled to give Saigon the raving review it deserves. Let's start off with some background...my wife has been looking for Vietnamese spring rolls a for long time now, after having them in her past, but we just never found them in the Asian style restaurants we had been going to, that is until we happened to find Saigon on Center street and 122nd, in Omaha. We had been talking about trying it out, but one night recently we took the plunge, dropping in for an evening meal, and have been there twice now....it is just that good. The ambience is quiet and comfy, with an Asian flavor, and the menu is diverse, with many options to choose from. Yes, Vietnamese spring rolls are absolutely on the appetizer menu, along with won tons, egg rolls and other really yummy things, and on the main menu there are so menu options to choose from that it was hard for me to just get one dish. On my first visit I choose to try the sesame chicken and fried won tons and my wife chose the seafood stir fried lo mein with her spring rolls. Of course they were exactly how she remembered them, light, fresh and delicious, and her lo mein was very good as well. Big servings and lots of seafood. My sesame chicken was also light and delicious, as were the won tons. Sooo good! We vowed to return, which only took us a week to make it back. Lol The second time we had the same spring rolls and won tons for appetizers, but this time I had the quang noodle soup, and she had the crispy shrimp. Again, it was delicious....and we have found our new favorite restaurant in omaha. As for the service, it's terrific....they treat you like a member of the family, so nice and outgoing, fun to talk to and offer great suggestions. There are so many things on the menu they I want to try, and everything is so light and fresh, that I can see us going back here probably once a week for years, if not more often. I hate to say it, because I'm afraid this will become the most popular place in the area, but if you like good Asian type food you, really need to check this place out.
We came in for pho but wanted to try some of their aps. The crab Rangoon was one of the best I've had in Omaha. They were fried enough to where you got the crunch but ooey gooey cream cheese center. I wish I remembered the name of the round flaky app we got. It was so good, warm & had a savory meatball in the center. The chicken pho was definitely the star of the show but I didn't get a picture unfortunately- too hungry to snap!
Whoa... a 'new-to-me' dish from here, Vietnamese beef stew. (Bo Kho) "Every bite of our tendered beef will bring you the lingering scent of basil, carrots, lemongrass, star anise, ginger and light cinnamon. Served with a choice of rice noodles." I was surprised at the hint of sweetness and savoriness of the broth. So good! Food, Service, Ambiance = 5

Saigon Restaurant has been around forever. I always remember driving by it and seeing it, but had never been in to eat. A friend had their birthday there recently - and unfortunately I was not super impressed. The interior looks similar to the outside, like it's been there for a long time and because of that, is a little run down. The service was great, especially since we were a large group. They were keeping all the drink and food orders straight, which was impressive. I had an appetizer and chose the Pate So, which are little puff pastries filled with a protein and delicious sauce. I loved these. I also had the meatball soup, which was pretty flavorful, but almost clear, so it didn't seem to have very much seasoning in the broth. And then for my entree, I picked the Sesame Chicken. It was kind of dry chicken and also in gigantic chunks, so was pretty hard to eat without doing surgery at the table. Ugh. The one other plus (aside from the service and Pate So), is that they are pretty inexpensive. So Saigon Restaurant has some good options, but others are not as awesome. It's a little dated inside and out, but the service is excellent, and you won't spend an arm and a leg. For those reasons, I still recommend trying them out, because you may find something you do like and not overspend on it, in case you aren't a huge fan. read more

I've been wanting to try this spot for a long time and finally made it for a lunch date with my daughter. Might be one of the best Vietnamese places I have been to in Omaha. Nice decor, friendly service, delicious food, and reasonable prices. Will def be coming back. read more

Love this place! Service is always great. There was almost no wait to be seated and served but there seemed to be a longer wait time for the many to-go orders. We have returned 3 times now and there seems to be the same main two servers that run the show here and they are so friendly and willing to create a yummy meal experience based on your flavor preference. This has been some of the best pho in omaha! Favors were incredible. Pork clay pot was a more sweet dish that reminded me of like an orange chicken/sweet and sour chicken but the pork was savory and yummy paired with the rice. read more

For Omaha, I'm impressed. The beef pho is a must-order. The beef broth was deeply meaty but not overly salty, and oh so fragrant! They nailed the balance between brightness and rich depth. Get the beef raw! The hot broth cooks the meat plenty as the two meet (pun intended). I also loved the beef vermicelli bowl. Definitely pour the entire little bowl of chili oil "dressing" over it and mix it up. Fresh veg, tender and flavorful beef, another nicely balanced dish. The service was fine. The interior could use an upgrade, but for the price I was just fine sitting in an old chair eating some very tasty Vietnamese cuisine. read more
We stopped here for dinner during our few nights in Omaha. It was pretty close to our hotel so we figured we will give it a try- especially the pho (as someone who grew up making homemade pho, I'm always down to try new pho places). We ordered spring rolls to share, my sisters got pho and I ordered the rice vermicelli salad with grilled chicken. The spring rolls were disappointing- the veggies in it were going brown and the dipping sauce was watery. My sisters said the pho was also watery and there was limited condiments- no chill oil, beef paste, etc. I tried their pho and agreed that there was really no flavor and the meat was dry. The only good thing here was the rice vermicelli salad- the grilled chicken was delicious, tender and full of flavor! The sauce that comes with was also authentic- making the salad very refreshing for a hot summer day. Honestly- one of the best place for rice vermicelli salad that I have had. Overall the environment is very pretty but the service is very slow and could improve- staff was unfriendly and although there were 4 young guys working, it seemed only like 1 was helping/doing work. read more

If there had 0 STAR option I will choose ZERO. I highly recommend Asian people do not eat here, because they treated Asian totally differently. The food was good, but the server was unbelievable terrible! We tried to ask to low the music voice. However, the female server first ignored us, then she did after we asked her second time. , after that we were totally be ignored, the server went to serve 2 other new customers. We went to the front desk and ask for help, but the lady said we yelled at her and harassed her! Excuse me?!!! Please please please, learn what is """"harassment""" means! read more

My boyfriend has been on the road for most of the year and we decided to meet in omaha. We stumble upon Saigon with a craving for a home cooked meal. We found it right here at Saigon restaurant; it kicked our craving and hit the nail on the head as far as flavor. We order the canh Chau ca (tamarind base soup with fish) and ca kho to (braised & caramelized fish in clay pot). I'm didn't get a chance to ask what type of fish, but it was light buttery and flakey filets that was used for both dishes. I would give their family style entrees a try the next time your here. My boyfriend said he will returning with his coworkers for the duration of work in Omaha. read more

It's hard to find vermicelli noodles with combination meat like I used to eat in Texas. I wanted to try a couple of things since I've never been here. The food was pretty good. The shrimp was a little fishy in the spring roll and the pork in the vermicelli noodles was touch. It didn't taste fresh. The crab regions were good and I loved the sauce. Overall I would try this place again. read more

I used to eat here at minimum once a month when I lived in Omaha and worked out west. I used to love it, which is why I would come back so frequently. I recently visited Omaha, and stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a big bowl of pho. I brought a friend who had never stopped in, and was super excited to share it with him. The menu has changed a bit (I was last there in November 2018). Our server pointed out (after we ordered) the pho now only came in large bowls, not the regular vs large size I was accustomed to. That was fine, no issue there - just what I wanted. I ordered my pho with the eye round steak and brisket. My friend ordered the hot and spicy soup with brisket. We also ordered the spring rolls as a starter (we had just finished walking Lake Zorinsky, and we were starving). The spring rolls were good as I'm accustomed to, although there was bit too much lettuce for my liking. Shortly after, our bowls of soup arrived. My broth was a little on the bland side (which I don't ever recall being an issue before). I added my cilantro and basil, and even added some hoisin to help flavor the soup. I was a happy camper with the additions. My friend was a little overwhelmed with how hot and spicy his soup was. I felt bad, but he was a trooper and kept eating it. We took our leftovers with us (love that they have plastic to go containers). The reason for 4 stars was it just wasn't as good as it's been in the past. read more

Basically, my parents are the pickiest people when they go out to eat. They rarely like anything. This was the best place we had in Omaha during this visit. I enjoyed the oodles of noodles that they had there. They had egg, rice, clear.... Everyone at our table had a different noodle. We had this puff pastry as an appetizer and dang. It was pretty darn delicious. It was flakey and so savory. I would have bought five for myself if it wasn't that expensive.... And I wouldn't be judged by the large amounts I would have inhaled. read more
