Basically, my parents are the pickiest people when they go out to eat. They rarely like anything. This was the best place we had in Omaha during this visit. I enjoyed the oodles of noodles that they had there. They had egg, rice, clear.... Everyone at our table had a different noodle. We had this puff pastry as an appetizer and dang. It was pretty darn delicious. It was flakey and so savory. I would have bought five for myself if it wasn't that expensive.... And I wouldn't be judged by the large amounts I would have inhaled. read more

My first time at this restaurant, everything is pretty disappointed 1. The portion of the foods is small 2. The price is high 3. You will feel very thirsty after eating here With the pricing I am expecting a more decent portion but the meat portion is so little but they do give a lot of rice, look at the meat portion and does it worth the money? I will not come again though The two stars is for the waiter that is really responsive but the foods is disappointing read more

Food piping hot and fast! Service was a little slow but was only because there was only on server and she was also taking care of to go orders. The fresh spring rolls the best I've had. Love that they are local. read more

Not authentic Vietnamese dishes. The taste is not original but mixed with some Chinese sauces and salty!

Saigon is by far one of the best places in Omaha to get some classic Pho! The food is always amazing! I recommend getting here early though and avoid the lunch rush and the dinner rush after they re-open! It seems there is always one server and the owner running out the food orders and closing out the checks at the front. It does take a little time to get your food and drinks sometimes but the wait is well with it! Be patient and of course the staff is friendly and very accommodating! read more

Meh. That's about how I would sum up my experience here. The place is really really nice inside, which is a sign that mayyyybe it's not the most authentic. It was packed as well, so people obviously like it. Also, to all those silly people who post that those pork puffs are "undercooked" and "raw", stop being silly. Those are pork pate puffs. That's how pate looks and tastes. If you don't like pate, don't order the PATE PUFFS! Anyway, I got the pork clay pot and the fried spring rolls. The spring rolls were actually really good. They had a good amount of meat and crunch, and the sauce paired really well with it. If you come here, I definitely recommend getting these. The pork clay pot, while nicely presented, was small in size for the price and was fairly one-note. It had a slightly sweet-soy taste, and that was about it. Definitely not worth it. Although prices are higher than they should be, I'd be willing to give this place another shot, but not the pork clay pot. read more

About 4 years ago I was introduced to PHO. The first place was downtown. It was good, then after a few other places, Saigon came into my life. I bought a house within a 5 minutes drive of Saigon about 3 years ago. So even though this is my first review, I've been here and ordered take out probably close to 100 times. I've had other food at Saigon but the Pho is my go to menu item. Rare beef to be exact. I enjoy the pho here like Pac-Man enjoys the big power boosts. When I find out I'm having pho from Saigon, I get happy, like a dog happy to see it's owner who just came back from a trip. The service is great, food is good, the place is clean and I always order pho. Try it, you'll like it. If your Vietnamese and have a better place please let me know. I've been looking and have been to about 8 other places and non have taken the championship belt from this place. If you think your moms or grandmas recipe is better, message me and I'm more than willing to come over and try it. Great job Saigon. Still killin the pho game. read more

5-6 of us regularly meet and eat here to socialize. Today we met, ate and socialized and as we were getting ready to pay our separate bills I was calculating my usual 20% tip when one of my companion's said that an 18% gratuity had been added to our bills. I hadn't noticed because the bill also had the usual space for a tip. We questioned our waitress about this because it never happened before. She said it was added because we were a 'group'. The food is ok, not exceptional, but the practice of adding a automatic 18% gratuity is sneaky. We will not be going back because there are many excellent restaurants in Omaha that do not do this. read more

This review is so overdue. I've been coming her for literally the last 10 years. So damn good. It's ALWAYS, consistently delicious. I love the spring rolls, crab puffs, vermicelli bowls, cashew chicken. Pho. Omg. So good. Would literally fly here from out of state for their food. Family has owned it forever, please support this place. It's hands down my favorite spot in Omaha. YUM. I dream about those spring rolls. read more

I have passed by this restaurant for several years, thinking about the opportunity to eat here and this evening, it became a reality. The parking lot and surrounding buildings do not help with the access, however once you step inside, you realize how clean and modern this restaurant really is. The seating was at near capacity bit we were given a nice clean booth near the front. Even though there were only 2 servers, they were quick, efficient, and very friendly during the time we were there. The egg rolls are excellent, hardly any cheap fillers and loaded with tasty meat along with delicious dipping sauce. The main course came out within 20 minutes. The Saigon Beef Galbi was also very flavorful, well marinated, and tender short rib meat. I wasn't expecting this place to develop a Korean delicacy and make it their own with a slight modification to the overall grilled flavor. The check came quickly and I left feeling very satisfied with the service, food, and price. read more

Great menu, service and food. Very tasteful and inviting decor. Thoroughly enjoyed. Will go back ofte

Not many Vietnamese restaurants open on Sunday in Omaha, so thought we'd try Saigon Restaurant. Walking in, we noticed they won several local awards and figured it should be good. I ordered the combo pho and my wife got the bun bo hue. Both dishes were plain as plain can be (no flavor). Even the bubble tea was nearly flavorless. Whoever was handing out the awards must not have any taste buds or is unfamiliar with Vietnamese food. Not a place we'd go back to. However, we did enjoy the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly (earned them an extra star). read more

Food was delicious and the customer service was great. We were happy with the food portions.

We finally tried Saigon after me wanting to for quite some time! The building could definitely use some updating and we ordered carry out so I can't say much for the inside ambiance. I got the bbq pork vermicelli bowl with an egg roll and my husband got the beef pho. Both were really flavorful and good portions. The sprouts and other veggies were really fresh and good quality. The meat was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was that the egg roll had shrimp in it and I'm allergic to shellfish. It didn't designate any fillings on the menu, simply stated "egg roll" so I guess that's my bad too for assuming it was just pork/chicken or veg. My husband ate it and thought it was really good. read more

Whenever I am craving some delicious authentic Vietnamese food in Omaha, I go to one place, Saigon. Not to be mistaken with another local restaurant located downtown with a similar name... But this place is delicious! I have yet to be disappointed and the staff is the nicest! Every time I am craving food that reminds me of my parents' cooking, I find myself coming here, even though it takes me about half an hour to get here. It's SO WORTH IT! Their pho is tasty-- not the best I've had but their other dishes make up more than enough. I particularly enjoy their Quang Noodle Soup, featured in the handout that comes with the menu. It has a rich broth that includes both seafood and meat. Super flavorful! Their other noodle dish that I actually found VERY delicious and VERY similar to home was their mi wonton soup! It was the bomb dot com!! I am super excited that I found this place! And I will continue visiting this place as long as I still live in Omaha. read more

I'm a regular at Saigon for the past 6 years. I had a pretty bad experience here tonight. I've seen the servers change after these times and 70% of them seem to not smile or care much which detracts me from going there as frequently as I used to. One really annoying thing, the owner just sits there and stares at you. Let's talk about today. I ordered the spring rolls (my favorite ever out of all the places), and I always say in English "Pho with rare beef and meatballs". It comes out as combination, with Tripe (which I can't stand) and beef brisket which I don't like either. I'm a regular and I hate saying when I get the wrong food but I think it should be able to be corrected without being rude especially since it's not my fault. I told the server immediately and he said "sorry my mistake, I'm new here" and I replied saying "no problem, I completely understand". So I'm waiting for about 15 minutes then he goes, "would you like like a box?" Since I don't want to eat something I don't like and expected the correct order to come out, I asked if the new one would come out and he seemed kind of shocked and then it took another 15 minutes. The new one came and it was wrong again! They put a piece of tripe but no beef brisket at least. Also, they really skimped on the meat, 3 pieces of each. I just took the tripe out and ate some because I needed to go. Not only that but the owner just kept staring at me the whole time which I thought was pretty rude. But it seems obvious to give the correct order by default upon getting it wrong, not assuming the person is going to eat something they didn't want. At least he was a nice server more than most of their servers in the past. I'm definitely staying away for some time maybe forever. I don't like how I don't feel wanted at a place especially that I come to frequently and feel like I have to suffer for something that isn't my fault! It's interesting to me that it helps so much when you're a nice server and owner it'll make me want to come back more often. This place isn't one of those most of the time. I miss some of the past servers. read more

Saigon is one of Omaha's best Asian restaurants. It also is one of the prettiest and most relaxing. The menu is large, featuring Vietnamese food, with French touches. If you are unfamiliar with Vietnamese food it is totally unlike Chinese food. Much lighter, with a greater focus on main course soups (pho) and noodle dishes. Clay pot dishes are also offered. Absolutely everything we have ordered has been delicious. The tough part is trying to decide what to order, as the menu is large. Beer, wine and liquor are all available. Table service is offered. At times it can be a bit slow. Prices are reasonable. There is ample parking near the door. read more

Saigon is pretty good. We came here because we couldn't decide on anything else, so we thought we give it a shot. We both tried something completely off our normal charts and had a mixed reaction. My wife had a clear broth chicken soup (not Pho...we eat that regularly), and I had clay pot chicken. It was flavored with coconut and curry as it is described on the menu. It tasted pretty good.If you're tired of all your other normal spots, maybe give it a shot. read more

Not being a huge connasseur of Vietnamese food, I guess I don't have a lot of perspective on Saigon. I enjoyed the Pho (which is large enough to split) and appetizers... and the joke that our server told as he was ringing up our check about how the bill was $10 more than it actually was. I didn't get the joke and was ready to pay $35 for two people, but it was only $25. Good deal. I'll probably be back sometime... and maybe by then I can review with more gusto. read more

Came here for lunch with coworkers on a weekday. The inside was nicely decorated and has the nicest/cleanest interior of the vietnamese restaurants around town that I have been to. They serve cucumber water as their regular option, so if you are like me and tend to avoid greens, make sure to request no cucumbers. I settled on trying the rare steak pho, while one of my coworkers decided to try the pork clay pot. The food took a quite a while to come out (might not be good for those in a rush). My friend liked his clay pot, but was not blown away by it and the same can be said for the pho. The noodles and the meat were great, but the broth itself was mediocre. There was not much flavor and I had to supplement it with a lot of siracha and hoisin sauce. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for service. Waitresses are very polite and welcoming even when busy. We got served raw wontons, yes RAW. They were cold and mushy in the middle. The outside was wet and sloppy. Tasted like a diaper. My brother got tempura shrimp type dish. He said it tasted extremely oily and rubbery. I had the bbq pork vermicelli. It was okay, didn't have much flavor. I'm super disappointed because I love pho. But this was worst pho experience ever. read more

Another visit on the "Omaha pho trail" for me. I have been here a few times in the last 2-4 years but didn't remember enough to write a proper review and add it to my Omaha/Lincoln pho adventures yelp list. The Saigon location is easy to find and there is ample parking in a private lot. There is a large scaling sign that says "Sagion- Great Vietnamese Food", which was either a hopeful omen or a for-sure overstatement. I would find out soon enough. Entering in, the restaurant opens up and there's lots of seating-booths, round tables, and the bar. Decor is updated, and not the usual hole in the wall appearance that I have come to expect with a lot of family run places. There are a lot of Vietnamese people enjoying their meals quietly, which to me is a great sign. We sit down, and service is prompt and curt. No frills or whistles here but solid service. This isn't your grandmother's diner. We start with the crab rangoons- not asian in the least but it always intrigues the American side of our taste buds. Solid crab rangoons and sauce. Next up, the pho. I go with combo and he goes with large combo. The Pho also comes out in a timely manner and is steamy and aromatic-perfect right? While the noodles and the meat were excellent (tendon, meatball, brisket, flank in my bowl), the soup/broth fell short in my book. I thought that the broth was lacking flavor and was a little bland. This surprised me because the son of the owner also owns Saigon Surface and Saigon Bowl so I was expecting it to be the same recipe. I found that I actually like the Pho broth at the son's two restaurants better. I do remember trying other things on the menu in the past and liking it, but with the proximity to my house, Saigon is probably not going to be on the top of the list for Vietnamese food and pho in general. read more

The BEST Pho I've had in Omaha! The servers are always incredible and so kind, and the vibe is very peaceful and chill. The food is AMAZING. This was my 2nd time eating here and I just love it! It's our best friend's go to place and just yesterday I was craving the clay pot they have here! My boyfriend and I met up with his best friend and his gf last night and I knew I wanted to try the fish clay pot! I just wasn't sure which one. The waiter suggested I try the curry one while Amy tried the regular fish clay pot both for $10.95. They each come with steamed rice. We tried each others and they were both on point! Lots of flavor and generous amounts of fish and fried potatoes. I loved it! My boyfriend ordered the calamari and crab Rangoon and the calamari was cooked to perfection! No rubbery texture, just grand calamari! The crab Rangoon was also delicious! He enjoyed the grilled onion fish which you can request rice paper to make your own rolls! I tried a roll he made for me and the fish did not taste fishy! It was grilled perfectly allowing the taste of the fish come through yet having that smokey grilled taste throughout each bite you took. It was yummy on its own and in the rice paper roll with the veggies they provide. I'm already looking forward to the next time we can go. The meals are reasonable, generous, and service was great. They refilled our waters about 4 times, I think we were all dehydrated. Enjoy Saigon soon, you will love it! read more

Service is good, place is clean. My go to place for pho in the winter and any time I'm from out of state and this place hit the spot for my Vietnamese food craving! I'm just gonna throw it out there - if you love Vietnamese food, then know that there is no such thing as "great Vietnamese" in Omaha. That said, my review is probably skewed a bit. Cafe au lait was sweet, creamy and tasty. Egg roll appetizers were fresh, hot and crispy but lacking in flavor. Lemon grass squid was cooked well with a sauce that was just spicy enough. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Our waiter checked on us multiple times throughout our meal and was quick to refill water (with a slice of cucumber - nice touch). I've tried a variety of entrees from their menu (on prior occasions). Overall, the food is tasty, but doesn't satisfy that craving for Vietnamese - you know, a fresh banh mi, a steaming bowl of pho, a savory catfish clay pot. So again, skewed review. I'm giving them three stars because the service, quality and flavors are good. If I were rating based on all of the Vietnamese food I've eaten in my life, then I'd give two stars. read more

The Pho with shrimp, pork, and wonton is one of the best choices in the Pho category. The bowl is so full of broth and ingredients that you almost need a nap afterwards.
