Pho 79 reigns as my favorite Pho spot in South Florida! The Pho is delicious, vermicelli bowls are tasty, and all the servings are plentiful and enjoyable. I typically order their regular-sized Seafood Pho or their grilled shrimp vermicelli noodles. Both dishes are exquisite! This joint is always crowded and moving with an abundance of to-go orders. My concerns, however, are the lack of welcoming service and the uncleanliness of the restaurant. It's not the most sanitary-looking eatery, which can be a bit unsettling. Also, I've never seen them clean down those complimentary sauces left on the tables, which is another health/cleanliness concern. I'd give it a higher rating if they took more initiative in sanitizing their facility (especially in light of COVID-19 concerns) or modernizing it up a bit to give it a cleaner and more inviting feel. Customer service is lackluster as well. I'm never greeted upon entry or made to feel welcome. Very authentic pho! I stopped by around 1pm on a weekday and as soon as I entered, I was greeted and redirected to order my meal! The whole wait from paying and receiving my food was under 10 mins! The food was so warm when I got home that I didn't even need to heat it up but I did alittle to make it extra warm and the packaging for the base was so nice, just wish the foam containers for the add ons were alittle more secure! The noodles, were so tasty and the broth omg I got the spicy beef added to my chicken pho! It was so flavorsome and you could taste so many different spices in every bite. I ordered the following: Spring Rolls ($4.50) - it had pork, shrimp rice noodles and veggies. Very good and good size. I love the hoisin and peanut dipping sauce. Bun Bo Hue ($10.50) - It comes with beef flank, brisket, beef shank, pork patty, pig feet and pork blood. I got mine with pork patty and pig feet. It was OK, There wasn't any flavor, usually Bun Bo Hue is made with a lot of lemon grass and I barely tasted any of it. First time in Ft. Lauderdale and I had to find me a Vietnamese spot to get my vietfood cravings. This was place was recommended first by a friend of mine. I'd have to say, it must be popular because I have only been in Ft Lauderdale for two days and dined here twice. Both times, the place is filled with customers. I had the pho dac diet for my first visit and it was ok. Not the best I've had before comparing to other locations that I've lived in the past (Cali, Michigan, Maryland, and Alabama), but it hit the spot. However, when I had the rice platter dac diet with the beef short rib, lemon grass chicken, and grilled pork chop, that was very good. The prices were very fair for the quantity and quality of the food. The service was quick and easy. No hassle. No issues. I will be back soon to try other items on the menu! read more

Strange place with strange service, but very good. My wife was a bit sceptical at first since there wasn't much of a vegan choice for her. We started the grilled tofu, #13. Wow, it was good, my wife whom normally doesn't eat tofu, really liked it. For dinner my wife had a #52 vegetable bowl, she got with out tofu. She really enjoyed it. I had #5, it was a combination of grilled chicken, pork and short ribs served with white rice and two small egg rolls. It was so good. The strangest thing about this place is how you pay. Don't be an idiot and do what I did, which is to dump a whole mess of the Thai bird chile crisp in the soup, thinking it is only was hot as the Lao Gan Ma Chinese one that is commonly used (and I use all the time at home) It ain't. I was almost in tears again when I found this place, even though it was far as hell of a drive from south Miami. I got the egg rolls, the bun bo hue (which was a medium bowl), and additional tendons on the side. The bun bo hue soup was full of flavor, though I wish it was a bit darker and had more beef aroma. The medium bowl was huge. I could barely finish it. The noodles were nice and chewy, and there was a lot of beef. They definitely did not skimp out. The side of tendon came with a full small bowl of them too that I could barely finish. My only complaint would be that the pig feet was a bit more bland than other bun bo hue i've had in houston. Though overall, soup was good and there was a lot of beef. The egg rolls tasted very home made, but i wish they came in 2's instead of 4's. Easier for one person. Pho79 is one of those hole in the wall joints that will completely exceed any expectations you might have (or not have). Located in a not so aesthetically pleasing plaza, they're right in the corner next to Family Dollar. When you walk in, it's not very impressive looking either, but you'll be seated pretty quickly. What you order is up to your mood, for pho, I typically get the #30 (small) and the fried shrimp appetizer. The sizes of the bowls are larger than listed. I stay start with a small because it's a huge portion. If you're not into pho, they have rice dishes that are amazing. Generous portions with fresh eggs and the meat is seasoned to perfection. Their pho is just outrageously good. Broth isn't too salty and you can control just how spicy you like it. The food comes out quick, and the service leaves a little to be desired. I definitely don't come here for the esthetics or the service- the pho is out of this world good and not to mention delicious. I frequent pho79 at least every other week. We do prefer to order out, we ate in a couple times but after the last time my son dropped something in the table and ate it, he was horrible sick and it was scary. I've always known it's not the cleanest place, I wasn't quick enough to stop him from eating it. We wanted some Asian food so we found this place while driving by the area. For the interior, don't expect anything super fancy of some sort, but it's kind of typical pho restaurant. We order the pho with eye round steak and soft tendons and flank. Order came out pretty fast along with the add ons (bean sprout, jalapeño, etc). They came is a thick glass (?) bowl which was pretty common back then and good because it keeps the broth warm and hot a lot more longer than those with current ones that are thinner and made of plastic. Personally, the meat cuts are pretty thick/big pieces, but amount is equivalent compared to other places. But the broth itself is pretty clean and not greasy. I would come back if I have another chance next time. Also, i would be careful when going to the restroom. it's kinda of slippery - not sure if that was normal or not though. read more

Needed comfort food. I have tried Pho in different locations throughout Florida. And I keep coming back to this one. It is so perfect I can't even describe it. I know there are there are cloves, cinnamon and anise (to name a few) in the recipe. Other places I have had pho, one of the ingredients was typically overpowering. Not here. It's perfectly combined and it's almost hard to tell what makes it so good. The place is clean. The servers are friendly. The price is fair. I recommend this location. Over and over. I first tried Pho 79 last year in Miami. You see, they have a location near FIU and that's usually the one I frequent. As I was in Broward County though, I opted to bother with the Pho 79 in Davie, more so when I realized that they were on Uber Eats as we were in no mood to go out. ***This review is thus solely based on my experience with this Pho 79 being on Uber Eats. In no way, shape, or form will I be commenting on eating at the actual restaurant.*** With that said, my boyfriend and I placed an order through Uber Eats. Delivery was timely and food came properly packaged. We had ordered some egg rolls and two medium phos: the #24 for me, the #25 for him. The egg rolls were a complete bummer. While they were cooked well, they just didn't taste well. To be frank, they tasted fishy to me and they were supposed to be made of meat. I thought it was just me, but my boyfriend's roommate sampled one and wasn't a fan either. The sauce that came with it though was delicious. As for the phos, they arrived cold, but that's nothing a quick visit to the microwave doesn't resolve. With that, our broths were hot and we dumped in our toppings. The phos were on point. My only problem is that I forgot to request to cook my meat beforehand. I don't like raw meat cooking in the pho. It feels undercooked to me, but eh, that is a matter of personal preference. Honestly the phos were hearty, filling, and tasty. I do think, though, that for a spice monster like me, they didn't offer enough sriracha sauce. We dropped by here because it was on the way home to GA. We sat down for approximately 40-45 min waiting on our food. Or waiter took our order. After approximately 40 min, we got our appetizer shrimp roll like 30 min ago. 2 tables sat down 15 minutes after us and already got their food. Approximately 10 minutes later, the 2 tables that came after us already finished their food. The waiter came by and said sorry, that they are busy and it will be longer before our food gets here. We overheard the cook yelling at the waiter saying that he had forgot to put our order in. Waiter never owned up to his mistake. The manager walked around and saw us but didn't say anything. If I could give them 0 stars, I would of. I guess customer service is just horrible and they don't care since they are really busy. Funny thing is, they still charged us for the shrimp rolls. I have been waiting to try this place, but couldn't find the time to ever go. Finally I'm home and decided to get delivery through Postmates. I was really weary because most deliveries never end up as good as the restaurant. So I got 3 orders #32 Tai Chin Nam Gau Gan ( Pho soup with Eye round rare steak, beef flank, beef bisket, fat flank and soft tendon) and it was 90% as good as the one I used to have when I spent time in Vietnam, The Large feeds 2 people easily #49 Com Suong Dai Hang (Korean short ribs) 3 long short ribs, served with rice and sunny side up eggs. The parking lot is big but very busy and often it is hard to find a spot. The pho soup comes with many variations of meat (rare steak, meat ball, tripe, tendon, flank steak etc.) in small, medium or large sizes. The quality of the soup broth varies....some times it tastes quite good and other visits it is a mediocre salty water. The rice vermicelli dishes like bun thit nuong (rice vermicelli with pork and no soup) seems to be have more consistent flavor. What I crave when I want a light meal that satisfies in ways only a rich, flavor-packed broth can. Vietnamese pho broth is also made from simmering bones, usually beef bones, for a long time and additionally includes lots of seasonings such as ginger and star anise. I'll admit I'm a later adopter of pho myself, so I feel it's even more important people know that the pho at Pho 79 is so good (plus my legit Vietnamese friends approve)!! I usually get the small size ($8.25), while my boyfriend gets full off the medium size ($9.45). The bowls come out fast and with a plate of fresh toppings: culantro, bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and limes. We ordered in Asian fashion a "small 34 and a small 33." The small is a great individual size. Order a medium if you're really hungry. Get a large if you have the time and it's going to be your only meal for the day LOL. The flavor of the broth is perfection. They've got it down to a tee. The ratio of meat to noodles to broth is balanced. I love this place. You don't even need to add anything to the soup, but I still put jalapeno slices and sriracha because I need some spice to open up the sinuses. Living in South Florida, it's very rare for me to crave hot soup. Even so, I do love me some pho and just couldn't stop thinking about having it for dinner while in Davie for a meeting. At Pho 79, they thankfully keep the AC cranked so even if it's not in the 60s outside, you will want something to warm you up upon walking in. At least that's how it was when I recently popped in for dinner. While the thought of pork blood and beef tendon in pho may sound appealing to some, I kept it simple and with a small bowl with only rare beef that cooks in the broth (#24). My fiancee went with a Korean beef rice plate, and we got a starter of spring rolls to share. All the food came out super fast. The spring rolls tasted fresh and had both shrimp and beef in them. To be honest, I was mainly using the roll as a vehicle for that delicious peanut sauce that comes on the side. Now, the pho... That pho was pho-nomenal (sorry, couldn't resist). The broth was so flavorful on its own, but I couldn't help piling in all the toppings, as well as liberally throwing in some chili paste. The small was the perfect size when paired with the spring rolls. I left full and happy! My fiancee loved his dish as well. It's pretty no-frills but there is a ton of seating! In the end, we paid about $30 for both of our meals which felt like a steal. Stopped in on a rainy day- bc pho makes everything better right!? It's a small restaurant tucked away in the strip center off of Stirling. The whole strip is dedicated to Vietnamese restaurants/stores. The food was REALLY good. Clear broth for the Pho Ga (chicken), and super flavorful brother for the flank steak pho. The spring rolls were very fresh and tasty. Would have given 5 stars, but the service was not good. It took them 20 minutes to come take our order after we were sat down. Simple, quick, tasty. That's how Pho 79 is in a nutshell. Went to lunch sometime before going to the office, and after having a discussion with a friend on IG regarding ingredients, my craving for pho surfaced. When I arrived, I was seated quickly and attended to immediately. The menu is relatively simple. I ended up ordering a number 25, which is their pho base with eye round and with brisket. I don't care how it comes - I love brisket. About two minutes after I sat, one of the employees brought me ice water and a set of herbs and other things to put into my soup (mint, culantro, lime, jalapeños, bean sprouts), and maybe three minutes after that, I had already received my soup. Talk about fast. I ordered a medium size, and I was not necessarily ready for how big it was. I didn't use all of my mint because I'm not too much of a fan, but I could have used a bit more jalapeño, so I opted to just throw in a bit of the chili paste that was already on the table setting. The taste was great. I can see why everyone talks about this place. After about 15 minutes, I could say that I finished all of my key ingredients: meat, noodles, vegetables, bean sprouts and broth.
