I came in on a Sunday - just opening time. I was in the area because my son goes to FSU. The pork / shrimp spring rolls I definitely recommend. The pho is GOOD! I'll definitely come back when I'm back here to see my son. Overall 4 stars worthy for overall experience. Dining room is clean & service/ attentive is good too.

Fresh Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls

My go to and favorite place for pho in Tallahassee. I wish they would stop heating the "fresh" spring rolls in the microwave as one bite is cold and another hot. The interior is worn out and dingy but service is always on point and excellent.

Food was delicious! I recommend hangover cure. :) Service was fast; ambiance is average!

I tried Pho 7 today. It has turned cool and soup sounded really good. I had the grilled chicken spring rolls and Pho #2 rare chuck eye steak with meatballs. The spring rolls were ok the dipping sauce is fabulous. The Pho is really good and huge. Lots of noodles and very fresh veggies to add. Even the basil is fresh which it hard to find at other pho places in town. It was absolutely prefect hot and hit the spot. The broth is well flavored before adding extras. I will definitely be back. Pho 7 has good parking. The staff is very nice and helpful. Its pretty basic decor but clean. They have a huge menu with a huge vegetarian options. Prefect for a cold Florida day.

I've only ever had Take out from here. Every time it's perfect. My favorite dish so far is the House Special dry vermicelli bowl. It's really really good. From other Vietnamese places, I'm accustomed to this dish coming w a fish sauce dressing. This dressing doesn't have fish sauce on it as far as I can tell so I just add some when I get home. Otherwise it's perfect. The phô is very Good. The broth is savory and warming. They sell it as a side also which I usually crave if I'm feeling under the weather. One of the highlights of this place that other phô places don't have is the pickled daikon. It adds great complexity to the dishes. I've enjoyed every dish I've tried. I like to get it to go so I can add some heat at home. Nothing here that I've tried is very spicy so if that's what you're afraid of - don't worry! They serve everything 0 level heat.

Ask the Community - Pho 7

Do the bahn mi here have the pate or just regular mayo?

Yes, they have Pâte, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeño, pickled carrots and daikon. They're available with grilled pork, grilled chicken, grilled beef, bbq pork, Vietnamese pork sausage, or a cold cut combination. They are $5.75

Is the pho broth sweet? We really dislike sweet pho broth, which is a major problem with pho restaurants in our area (St. Pete). We are visiting TLH and want the most authentic Vietnamese experience. My husband is from Saigon and knows good pho.

Not sweet - unless someone squeezes a bunch of hoisin in it. I think Pho 7 serves some of the best bowls in town.

The covered concert space across from this restaurant hasn't seen any performances in ages. Dreamland BBQ that abutted the venue has come and gone and Lemongrass has changed owners. What the original owners probably had hoped would be a destination dining spot has become a hidden restaurant down inside the old mall footprint. You have to know it's in there, that you can drive into that center of everything and that there are parking spaces down in there. I suppose they get some business from people going to the nail spa or the cut and shave shop nearby. I think I saw a fitness center there too. Oh yeah, with the demise of the original vision for The Center of Tallahassee, it now has a bunch of State of Florida employees as a captive audience for lunch. The original Lemongrass was Thai and Vietnamese food. With the new owners there is now a separate Indian food menu as well. I remember enjoying the Thai dishes in the past and the Indian dish I chose this time was tasty. I asked for medium spice level and I have to give them credit for actually spicing it. So many seem afraid to actually make a dish spicy. I ordered a Mango Lassi after the spice level started to build in my mouth and on my tongue so I could mitigate the burn a little bit. Milk products never fail me. The service was laconic. The one waiter seemed more interested in what was on his phone. He had trouble understanding my English and I had trouble understanding his English so I was pleased that I got what I ordered. The food came out in good time but I wouldn't count on much attention being paid after you get your food. The restaurant is showing wear and tear. Vinyl baseboards are missing or drooping. Booths are comfortable but worn. In summation, the food is fine but there's not much going on that would get me to come back. Kind of a shame. That whole area down in the center of The Center of Tallahassee had such promise.

Although no one was at the front when I first arrived, the owner quickly came out, seated me, and checked in throughout my meal to make sure everything was going well. His hospitality set a great tone for the visit. My server, Romeo, was outstanding--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to explain how hot pot works, helped set up my table, and offered excellent broth and food recommendations. The broth temperature was perfect, and everything cooked just right. The restaurant itself felt a bit dated, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Even though it was quiet and I was dining alone, the attentive service and conversation made the experience enjoyable. While the location is somewhat hidden in a storefront area, this spot has strong potential and could be a big hit in a college town like Tallahassee with FSU, TCC, and FAMU nearby. Overall, it was well worth the visit, and I would definitely recommend Volcano Hot Pot.
