I found Pho544 to have very nice pho soup offerings with a variety of meat combinations. The soup itself is just a shade oily. I don't know if that's the way pho soup is supposed to be by itself or if it becomes a little oily after the meats steep in the soup for a few minutes. Either way the soup is good, not salty. The meats are nice sized and have a fresh, not frozen taste. The meatballs are tasty as well. The rice noodles have a very nice fresh flavor too. Adding the crunch of the bean sprouts, the tart of the lime wedge and a little bit of hot sauce makes for a very appetizing meal on a chilly day. Service was good albeit I was one of only two customers present during this late lunch. I would suggest to mgmt that when your waitress is not busy, she sit at the staff's table FACING the customers instead of with her back to them. Okay, my bff is the queen of finding new food spots to patronize so I cannot take credit for finding this place full of warm and phoey goodness. We arrived late afternoon and the place was pretty quiet, the owner, Phil told us we had just missed the lunch rush...which I'm glad because as we were leaving the dinner rush was coming in and it was packed! Since it was a new spot we wanted to try a few items and see how they fare. Everything on the menu is moderately priced, which is always a plus. I got the vibe that beef entrees/Pho is their specialty because most of the plates were beef based. No issues from this chic...beef is what's for dinner! LOL. We started with a few items from the appetizer options: the chicken wings (with both oyster and fish sauce) and spring rolls. I noticed on the menu that all of the spring roll options came with shrimp....well I'm allergic to shrimp so I asked if it was possible to substitute. Phil was super accommodating and had some made with just grilled chicken. Yay! The chicken wings were great! I didn't really like the oyster sauce but that fish sauce...more, please? The spring rolls were probably my least favorite items, and they weren't bad, just didn't hit the bomb meter for me. The peanut sauce that was served with the spring rolls though....WHOA. I'd order the spring rolls just to dip them in the peanut sauce One thing that impressed me was how GOOD and FRESH everything tasted. Proud owner Phil let us know that everything is made, cut, rolled, whatever in house daily. They make the beef broth for the beef pho using 40 pounds of bones every night. Mind blown. On the pho menu there's actually an option to have any bowl made in kid size...let me tell you, those kid bowls will fill you up too! We ordered both the chicken and what I'm going to call the beef supreme Pho. The beef supreme has beef flank, beef meatballs, beef tendon, e I e I o. Lol. Warning, if you've never had tendon, it's chewy and looks like fat...or raw chicken. I almost had a moment. Lol. The first thing I did when our bowls arrived was taste the broth. The chicken pho broth was good...but that beef broth. My God. It was sooooo good! The last item we tried was the shaken beef and rice. He said all it is is beef shaken in a wok....I say it's yummy goodness in a wok. It was delicious! Perfect seasoning and super tender! Most authentic pho places are in Richardson and Garland and I'm so glad to find one 5 min from my house! What makes this place stand out from all other pho restaurants is that they are SO friendly and clean! Other places kind of only take your order and bring out your order and the staff will never come back to check on you but the staff here always smiles and checks on you frequently. I tried giving this place a chance but never going back again. Pho is ok, but quality of food is poor and unsafe. I ordered egg rolls and got served sour bad pork. When I tried letting "manager" know about it all she said was that she will let cook know and still charged me for something I did not eat. Um yeah, who does that??? Service was going down, probably because they now have more customers. It used to be a great family business. Our family has been visiting them since they open (in 2016 or 2017?) Unfortunately, they are not having customers in mind anymore. Today, I brought two kids planning for lunch. Since they do not enforce masking policy anymore, and I have an immune-compromised kid, I asked one of the servers to see if there is anything he could bring me so I could clean the outside patio. The server (or the owner?) was rude, saying since it was outside, it was not their responsibility. I was only asking for something that I could use to clean the table, not even asking him to clean it. The person then said, I could go to the restroom to get some "napkins" to clean it. That means that I would have to leave my kids outside by themselves. The food from my past experience was great, but their attitude changed dramatically. For the past year, I tried my best to support them because it is a local business and 2020 was really not the best year for everyone. After today, no, I would not recommend this place if you have a kid in need. After so many years of visit, I would not be visiting this restaurant ever. You, sir, were the problem. Your dad and probably your sister, were not. In fact, last time when I talked to your dad, we were talking about how hard the COVID did to the small business. Perhaps you sad was trying to protect you so he had to choose the side, which I understand totally. Our family, too once owned a restaurant business. Your altitude to the customer without trying to spend a minute to understand what customers need will cause your business. As I mentioned before, I was not asking you to clean. All I need was asking to bring some napkins to me so I clean the table without leaving my kids outside by themselves. You were not being reasonable. And to clarify, you did not went into the store to get the paper towel. In fact, you pointed the direction to the restroom asking me to go get napkins. People who dined today who later on seeing this review would see what you were saying was not the truth. 8:34 pm It is very obviously that I was told to go to the restroom to get the napkins. If not, how would I know where you wanted me to go get napkins? Again, if you simply said "I will grab some napkins for you," I would not even know where you get them from. Your mistake was, you told a customer at the very first place to get napkins in a restroom to clean the table, while the customer has two kids sitting outside with no other adult to watch over them. The place is very roomy and clean, but there is some improvement needed. We ordered 2 small bowls and one large bowl of Pho Chin. We were surprised to have only one small plate of bean sprouts, limes and mint leaves to share between all 3 bowls. Our table did not have enough Pho spoons which was an easy fix, but worth mentioning. Another omission is the lack of meat in the Pho. There weren't that many slices of beef which was somewhat disappointing. My fathers bowl was supposed to be a regular Pho Chin, but he was given the Dat Biet instead and we were charged $11 for the bowl after tax/tip that we didn't order. It's not that the price was off, but the fact that we didn't order it and had to pay for it that bothers us. The Pho itself was fine. I wouldn't put it above other places you find in the Garland area, but if you're in need of a quick fix, it's good. I hope they improve upon these small things. read more

Pho544 is legit. They use top tier meats. You can tell because the broth is gray and not yellow with a whole bunch of fat. The broth is flavorful without being to bland or salty. You can taste all the earthy flavor first and then the broth after. It was just right. Mr Phil nailed it on the broth. Will be back to try the other dishes. read more

Had my doubts about another Pho place, as most are the same, but this place impressed me. They have a nice outside seating arrangement so if the weather permits, would be a nice place to eat. If you don't want to get sick, you should not eat hear. The food is old. My husband and I feel sick even we just tried a little bit of them. We didn't eat the food and stood up after the taste because we were scared to get sick. I ordered chicken pho, the broth was sour because of old broth or old noodle. I'm Vietnamese and used to work in Vietnamese restaurant so I know how and why the food taste off. I think the owner is very cheap. He or she just saves the leftovers and sell in the next day. It's dangerous for customers to eat that. A lot of MAG, that why even we just taste we still feel dizzy and sick. We paid the bills even we didn't eat them. The service is horrible. read more

I thought I had reviewed this a while back, but Yelp told me I hadn't. Once got takeout from this place for 3 people. All 3 of us were not happy with what we got. I know personally I had the spring rolls and they were wrapped in plastic. The reason is that the wrappers themselves were too thin and the whole thing fell apart as soon as they were unwrapped. I forgot what the other 2 ordered, but I remember neither of them being happy and we ended up throwing away most of it. The place smells like Fabuloso cleaner when you walk in which is strong for a place with food. The trouble is they must use it in the kitchen also because it is soaking into the vegetables that I presume are left out or they clean the inside of the fridge w it. Amazing service; everyone was really friendly. We ordered takeout: chicken pho and egg rolls. With pho it's all about the broth and this broth is subtle but flavorful definitely freshly made. By far the best pho I have ever had noodles a fresh broth is fresh everything is homemade. No msg all meets are halal! Best cuts quality and tenderness. I'm so addicted to their fresh cuisine I go every single day for lunch! We've had everything from vermicelli bowls- egg rolls- spring rolls- pho chicken and beef- their fried rice my son is obsessed with. The green tea they serve is authentic green tea brewed freshly and hand steeped. I hve cancer and take 20+ medications a day I'm only able to eat preservative and salt free foods. I can't explain enough that the bone broth is all natural no additives of salt! It's amazing! Had the beef pho P6, and it was delicious. The broth was flavorful with floating scallion tabs, the noodles generous, and the beef had wonderful fatty edges and was very tender and tasty. The vegetable plate had a generous stack of fragrant basil, plump limes, slices of jalapeno and succulent sprouts, all very fresh. The staff was welcoming and friendly and attentive. The meals were on the table in less than 10 minutes. Despite other reviews of this brand new business, these folks are really getting their act together into an outstanding production. I live around the area and my favorite pho place (Pho Bac) is a longer ride than I'd like it to be so I've been searching for local ones. My local go to pho restaurant is Pho Street (which I enjoy), but I saw that this one was recently opened and I wanted to give it a try! The owners and staff were so friendly from the get go and the place is big and spacey. Sadly I did not enjoy my meal. Both my spring roll and pho broth were lacking flavor which is honestly the only reason I need not to return. I ordered the beef meatball pho and the broth was extremely watery and lacking something. The grilled pork spring roll I had lacked seasoning but their sauce was really yummy. On a positive note, the portions are very good. read more

I am by no means an expert on Vietnamese food. I do know the owner told me his recipes were all original from his family. This is my go to place because everything I have had is consistently fresh and taste great. This has been one of my favorites for a while. The staff is awesome and the owner truly cares about his product. I was having a conversation at my table about eating healthy and having a low gluten tolerance. Phillip overheard the conversation and started explaining his Pho was 100% gluten free. He went on to say he went out of his way to ensure this by using all fresh products from the base stock through every ingredient. He also said he is very conscience of the sodium in his products. He said his base stock is low sodium and he provides sauces for those who are fortunate enough not to have any food concerns. These things all reinforced why this place is an easy choice for me. This attention to detail has shown in every dish I have tried. Keep up the good work Phillip and Staff! It behooves the entire community to support local businesses and you guys make it easy. read more
