Pho 22 on Honolulu in Montrose, CA.

I was starving so I drop by on whim, since Pho 22 is local to us. Didn't feel like driving further into San Gabriel Valley. The Pho here for my taste is not good. The broth is not robust, meaning lacking depth of flavor of bone broth; the aromatics were too strong where the predominant taste was of cardamom. Egg rolls were terrible. I will say: Taste is subjective, so maybe try this restaurant out for yourself and see if you like it. Am just very picky with Pho. The restaurant staff are kid friendly and the ambiance inside is cozy.

Local pho place. The pho is amazing. Egg rolls are good. Their other dishes like the rice with meats and other appetizers are too salty or not good. Also their pho portions are very generous so won't be disappointed. There is of course plenty of parking and the place itself have enough seating so won't be in line long if there is.

Light yet flavorful -- perfect for those who love clean comfort food! Pho22 serves a broth that's rich in depth but not oily at all -- a taste many women would appreciate. The flavors feel clean and nourishing, and the generous portion of tender meat makes it satisfying without feeling heavy. Plus, the service is quick! A perfect spot for a light yet comforting meal.

I've been eating here since I was a kid! They have always greeted me as soon as I come in. It's small but there is charm in that. My favorite is the beef pho combo. I crave it every time I visit the area.

My wife and I stopped by here last weekend and had a very enjoyable lunch. I had the roast pork sandwich while she had the chicken pho. The sandwich was very good. I really liked the crunchy cucumber, pickled vegetables, and the pork was perfect. We also split an order of rice rolls/spring rolls that really complimented both our dishes The outside is dog friendly, so we sat outside in a space in front that housed two small tables. The wait staff was very friendly as they took our order, and in no time we had our food. We were glad we came here and wouldn't hesitate to visit again

We started with the Egg Rolls which were absolutely delicious! Perfectly crisp and packed with delicious meat. The Stake and Brisket Pho was a bit bland but it got much better with salt and pepper. Our server was friendly and the ambiance warm and clean. All in all not the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant but a solid 3.5 Stars.

BEST PHO EVER!! Vietnamese pho with Korean influence and I can't get enough! The combination pho is so delicious, I can never just have one type of meat they are too good. I also like to get some shrimp spring rolls, perfect on a hot day! Small space but this does not take away from anything, gives family vibes. And the staff is so nice! Pro tip: ask for basil!

The food was delicious and authentic. We had the trio of appetizers, composed of egg rolls, springs…read morerolls, and cheese wontons. All were delicious. We also had a filet minon pho and a combination rice plate with grilled shrimp and pork, both of which we were outstanding. Would highly recommend.

A super solid place to stop by, especially before catching a movie at The Burbank 16…read more I literally walk pass by this place all the time on my way to the movie theater. Finally got a chance to come-in & I'm glad that I did. Although, I have my "go-to whole-in-the-wall Vietnamese" place in the SFV, there'a always room for more businesses to support & Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank definitely deserves your patronage. It's a welcome step-up from your typical no-frills Vietnamese place, so the vibe / decor is especially great if you're introducing someone to Vietnamese cuisine for their first time. FOOD **PRO TIP: Go "Family-Style" = split multiple dishes amongst your table so you can have the opportunity to try multiple delishes dishes at once. That's the move. Shaken Beef Garlic Noodles - 9.2 / 10 **GET THIS DISH!!!!!** I did my "due diligence" before coming here & I 100% knew that I wanted to try this particular dish before coming here. In fact, the person whom I came here with wanted this too. (She didn't tell me in-advance). Needless to say, when multiple people have the exact same dish in-mind, you know that this is a good sign. Strips of lean, tender, juicy, quality, tenderloin steak, well-sautéed onions, plenty of garlic, served on top of a bed of al dente noodles. What's not to love? It's like eating a big, bowl, or spaghetti, but without the overpowering tomato sauce. Don't let the simplicity fool you. Yeah, I could very, well likely make this dish as home, but sometime it' just nice to leave some things to the pros. You can't go wrong with this dish. It sounds delicious in theory & it delivers on all fronts in reality. Spicy Garlic Chicken Rice - 8.9 / 10 A nice counterpoint to the heavier beef dishes that are offered, the well-seasoned, not-overly dry, but not-too spicy chicken is substantial. Round that off with an adequate portion of perfectly-steamed white rice & some fresh veggies (your standard pickled carrots, daikon radish, & lettuce), & you got yourself a solid chicken dish. Grilled Ribeye Steak Sandwich - 9.1 / 10 I hadn't had breakfast, so I was definitely craving a bit more to satisfy my hunger. This beef variant of a traditional Vietnamese Bahn-Mi hit the spot. Since I'm used to eating more economical + fattier cuts of beef for my bahn-mi, it's a rather welcome + modern twist to be using more premium cuts of steak (I honestly might steal this move the next time I whip-up a bahn-mi at home). It was hearty & you can definitely tell that the quality is there. I could be mistaken, but I wouldn't be surprised is there was some fish sauce that was used to marinade the steak. It makes for such a well-rounded, savory flavor. The crisp veggies, & aromatic cilantro round-out all taste sensations on a fresh baguette. In many ways, this is the fancier, upgraded, "Rolls Royce", of a typical whole-in-the wall Vietnamese spot's bahn-mi, & that is sometimes what you want. I would definitely get this again, especially if I was on-the-go. DRINKS Mango Jasmine Iced Tea - 8.9 / 10 Don't sleep on Mama Hong's handcrafted beverages. The mango jasmine iced tea provides everything that I want in thirst-quenching drink. You get the tropical tones of the mango offset by the herbaceous jasmine of the tea. I especially appreciate that it's not overly sweet. I especially dig that their handcrafted beverages come in customized branded plastic packaging with that soda-can lever-opener-style lid. You just don't get that anywhere. The staff is super accommodating. Shout-out to Mariska for being such a friendly & warm server. Granted, I came on a Sunday afternoon (around 2pm-3:30pm), don't be surprised if you have to wait because I can see this place being quite the trendy spot. Granted it's casual, it's still feels a bit nicer/fancier than the more relaxed bars, fast-casual spots in the surrounding area. You can't go wrong with Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank. A solid choice, indeed.

So glad this spot opened up in town!…read more A small but convenient spot for pho in the area, especially when the rainy days kick in I've frequented other spots in neighboring towns for pho, but so glad this spot is here for the locals. It's small, but is great for a quick weeknight pick-me-up when the other spots get a little crowded or overpriced. This spot delivers pho and simply good pho. I've gone here twice on last minute whims and was so glad they were able to take me in. Their pho tastes great, and their portion sizes are perfect. Their tofu vegetarian pho hit the spot! You can add spring rolls (decent) or iced teas or milk teas (no boba) to your meal. They also serve banh mi which I've seen several people order but haven't myself yet. Definitely a returning customer here. Appreciate their prompt and attentive service for such a small spot! They get the craving done here.

It was a Sunday afternoon after my regular basketball run, and this was my first time here…read more I liked that the restaurant felt clean and neat, though the tables were arranged a bit tightly inside. The server was very nice, and all of our food came out really fast. My friend and I shared the pork spring rolls, and I got the special pho. The spring rolls were just okay -- the meat didn't have a lot of flavor, and I didn't get that charred taste I usually like. The pho was a little light on meat, but the noodle portion was generous for the price and definitely enough to fill me up. However, some of the noodles were also stuck together at the bottom of the bowl, which made me think they may have cooked them ahead of time. It was just my first visit, so I'd still be willing to give this place another shot sometime
