Enjoyed fantastic Bun, Pho and veggie egg rolls here. My Pho came with fried dumplings which were delicious! The Bun was prepared with soft tofu and everything was perfectly prepared and presented properly. Egg rolls we're good, but not great. Next time I'll try the Banh Mi, which looked very good. This has to be my least favorite restaurant. The food is good and tastes well. However, the staff gives unacceptable custmer service. Not only did they mis interpret the order, when we politely brought it up, the lady said if we cant read the menu, to get out. If you want Pho near Montrose, this place is a solid place to go. It is not the best Pho I have ever had but it is yummy. I always order the rare steak and my husband likes the rare steak and brisket. The egg rolls are my favorite thing on the menu and my hubby really likes their spring rolls. The service is fast and the family that runs it is nice. Seating is limited and I have been there a couple times where the place was packed so there was no place to sit. Ordered for pick up , they had my order ready w in 10 min ! Pho was really good ! If you close at 9 pm. Does that mean I need to get there by 8:30 and finish my food by 9? After further discussion from a fellow yelper that works in the food service industry I am going to modify my review. I am still in the opinion that if I enter before you close I should be seated. But, an owner can run a business how they choose. Maybe they need to be home at certain time to tend to family matters. Maybe they don't want to pay overtime to staff if they need to stay late? So, although I don't agree I will temper my review. I did return at an earlier time and the service was prompt but after my food was brought out that never returned to offer an additional beverage I had finished or to see if I needed anything. Regarding the quality of food, it was good, but didn't wow me. It was just regular pho. I will come back again but can't say it's the best pho I ever had. The price is high in my opinion for the quality of the food but then again it is in a high rent district of quaint montrose. BEST PHO I HAVE EVER EATEN. My favorite is the number 11, brisket and rare steak. A size small will be a large meal for one person, for two people could share a large and be quite happy. Aside from the Pho, they have the best egg rolls I have EVER. HAD. The bar was raised when I had them, so be warned that after you have their eggrolls, no other egg roll will compare. They take calls for orders or you can walk in to get a to-go order, they are very quick with getting orders ready to-go or dine-in. We ordered barbequed park and barbequed beef. Meat was not barbequed - boiled then pan fried with a little sauce. We substituted fried rice for white rice, at an additional $2.50 for each substitution. Ah, a Pho spot that my friends and I just stumbled upon....I must say it was a good thing that we ran into this spot....My friends ordered the Pho with the rare steak and some vietnamese sandwhiches, My girl ordered the #11, her son ordered the chef special (beef, chicken and pork with rice and I ordered the meatball Pho and to tell you the truth, they were all delish!! #1 they did not skimp on the meat....i had meatballs floating around everywhere in my Pho and the little sandwhiches were very tasty! The service was great and the staff were so nice to us! Note to self, this was the first place I ever ate at in La Cresenta/Montrose area and I enjoyed it so much I would definately go back for seconds....Good Stuff !! read more

We are definitely regulars here since my daughter is rather picky, and she'll eat pho 3 times a day if we let her. Best pho in the area for us for sure. Always clean with quick service. The owners are so very nice and always accommodating. The taste may not be fireworks amazing, but the other factors more than make up for it. read more

I went to the restaurant hoping to have some real Vietnamese food after eating American and Italian Food all week, but it wasn't all that. The soup did not have much flavor and the service was slow. I was highly disappointed and so was my co-worker. The restaurant is family owned and operated by Korean, which could explain the difference in the flavor of the soup. My coworker introduced this store to me a year ago. Ever since, this is our company's first place to go for Vietnamese food. I always go for #7: Rare Steak Pho and share egg rolls/rice roll with my friends. Thai Coffee is good, too. I do not like special flavored coffee..but this place, they do not use the flavored beans! I have tried many Vietnamese restaurants, but this place has the best soup in L.A. areas. (Fried rice is good, too) Recently they raised the price, and I am not sure about their quality anymore... Me and my coworker went there for lunch today. But....Thai Coffee was not as strong as it usually is, and the soup was...for some reason I wasn't satisfied with the soup today. It is good quality still, but I'll need to look for a new Vietnamese restaurant. read more

First off, the 1-star rating is due to the fact that it's not even "meh." It's more along the lines of "I don't think I'm ever going to come back to this place." The reasoning for it being a place I'd not return to are (they're just reasons, they're in no particular order): 1.) The service was poor. Plain and simple. They came, took our order, never came to refill drinks, and rarely paid attention to the table in any other manner but to bring the check. Perhaps due to our "party" being young looking, or maybe the fact that we're white (I don't want to go that far though... But it happens). 2.) The price of the Pho was too much for such a little amount of noodles... The bowl was big, sure, but all there was in the bowl was broth and um, well... Broth. Which, mind you, had barely any taste to it due to the fact that it was so much water... The fried rice was also $8.25, which was a rip off for the amount of rice you actually got... It was say... 1/3 of a dinner plate?... 3.) Not only did the waiter(s) not come and ask if we'd like a refill on our drinks (oh, wait, I mentioned that they didn't come to our table at all... Even if I looked around or called to one/held my hand out), but refills on normal fountain drinks aren't free. Carl's Jr gives free refills and a "classy" restaurant doesn't? One good thing that I can say is that the fried rice was actually good. My friend didn't lie when he recommended that part. I will admit that there was parking, although on a Friday night, it's hard to find parking. I won't attribute the parking to this restaurant though, as before it was even around, the parking was already there. They don't deserve to have a plus on their restaurants status because of something they don't even contribute to. In conclusion: I'd suggest spending the extra $9 you'll pay on gas to go to San Gabriel for cheaper and better Pho. (It won't even cost you $9 to get there, by the way.) read more

This restaurant is a good place for causual dinning but not really a place to impress your lady friend. Pho 21 serves the popular Vietnamese noodle soup called "pho" among some other popular Vietnamese dishes. The owner is actually a Korean but the chef is a Vietnamese. They serve some common Chinese dishes as well. For those who are really into authentic Vietnamese pho, you might be disappointed. By the way, if you are allergic to MSG, stay away from pho items because it's in the soup and there's no way to avoid it. As to authenticity of Vietnamese food, I would give this place a two stars. The service is decent. It's supposedly a Vietnamese restaurant but no Vietnamese spoken here. Only Korean and English. By the way, what's up with the Koreans? this review is coming from someone who has only had pho from one other place..so im in no way shape or form an expert but.... the pho seems to be good, the other place i had pho at was awful so i guess anything would be good after something like that... im a creature of habit and ive only ordered the white chicken pho with no onions...its pretty awesome. my girlfriend and i always get the egg rolls to go with it cuz after all it is soup! lol the staff isn't overly friendly, but i think its because they don't speak English, but then again im not looking to make friends with them i just wanna eat. the place looks clean and organized its tiny so a chair that askew makes the whole place look like crap. over all i like this place its a few min. away from where i live so its convenient but im sure there are better places out there. :) read more

Very disappointed. There may have been a change in management or staff but the service was horrible. We asked for water and were provided glasses a third full all around. Appetizer arrived 20 minutes after the meal which they confused with the only other table seated. Lastly, we are still trying to enjoy our meal when the waiter placed the check on my husbands hand, since there was no other room on the table. I would have expected to be asked if we needed anything else or to have our plates removed before feeling rushed out. Needless to say, there are thankfully many other great pho restaurants in Glendale and neighboring Eagle Rock. We won't be returning. read more

Customer service was good a little pricy considering there was hardly any meat. Pho places in El Monte are always doing it better. That city is a bit far for us so we thought we try pho22 instead. Its not bad just wish it had more meat. Id go back but not sure spending in the future close to 40 bucks on 2 soups and coke is worth it, since i would have to ask for extra meat or try a more expensive soup. read more
