I had the Pho Tai, and my husband ordered the Pho Tai Chin, but he got the Pho with meatballs, tendon, as well as fatty brisket, brisket, and round steak. He didn't send it back, just picked out the tendons and fatty brisket and ate the . He had been told by a friend never to order meatballs but he actually liked the meatballs, said they tasted a lot like bologna, which he likes. I asked for extra limes and got them. The vegetables were a little wilted. The hot chili oil looked as if it had been on the table since the beginning of time, but the garlic chili sauce was fresh. The pho broth was very flavorful and meaty tasting, could have used a little more star anise for my taste, but still very good. It was clear and hot, and we finished our bowls. The noodles were good. We will be back next time we are in West Palm Beach, which is at least monthly. read more

This is now my favorite Vietnamese food place! My girlfriend is a big pho soup fan and she was delighted with it here. I'm not a pho fan so I usually dread going with her to these places. I was happy to find the had the bun dishes (not sure what bun means) but it didn't have the broth so was more like a meal (in my eyes, anyway). I got the sampler bun and IT WAS AMAZING!!! Every one of the samples in it was delicious and it was plenty to fill me... and I'm not a small guy. We also went next door to Art of Boba which has same owner and fell in love with the drinks there also! Both places had awesome employees too. Their accents were a bit difficult for us but we managed. Their friendliness & being on top of everything was very much appreciated. My drink while eating never got less than half full and I even got some tips on using chop sticks and was able to make it through my meal without touching the fork once. ;-) We will be planning another trip here again soon for sure!!! read more

I loved it here! Some friends and I went here before going out and we cut it pretty close to closing time,7:30 which is my biggest complaint, but the food was amazing. Got the egg rolls and the beef/steak soup. The amount of meat to noodle ratio was a little off but that's ok. My daughter was craving Pho and through the Yelp reviews we decided to give Pho 16 a try because the dishes posted on the pics looked delicious. And believe me, they were! We had the Korean BBQ short ribs and the rare beef pho. The vegetables that came with meals were fresh and crispy. The sauces and spices just right. We ate til we were stuffed. Also had the yummy flan for dessert. Really good ,quick, friendly service and clean establishment. I am definitely going back. While there, many people came and went either eating in or picking up. It's that good. I also forgot my debit card in the restaurant after I paid. I didn't even realize it til next morning. No worries. I called and they had held it for me without any issues. Been here a solid 10 times before posting to ensure I post a fair review. Overall ambiance is unassuming. Ordered beef pho and fried pork spring rolls every visit, including a few take outs. Food tastes good but portion size is so small and price is so high for pho. I order plain noodle and a lot of times and they charge the same price as pho with meat ($12). Let's just say, i don't think I will be back again. I ordered the rare beef pho, it was ok but there was literally only 3 slices of the rare beef. The noodles were hard. ONE lime.. when I specifically asked for extra lime numerous times when I ordered over the phone for take out and was more than ok paying for more lime. When i went to pick up my order I asked the girl at the counter if there was lime in the bag and she assured me she put extra.. I get home and there's literally ONE slice of lime. The food all around was ok which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. But the attitude of the girl at the front will most definitely keep me from returning there. This has to be one of the worst Vietnamese spot I've been to. First of, I ordered the Pork Vermicelli Bowl, the noodles were slimy, which is an indication of not cook right or old noodles. I'm Vietnamese so I told the staff in vietnamese that the noodles were slimy. They told me, "yes, all the noodles are that way because the shipment is from a while ago." Wtf?!!! Did I just hear that right? Next is I ordered the grilled pork and rice combo which comes with salad. I told them to hold off on the rice, I just wanted the pork and salad for now. The grilled pork was flavorful, my daughter loved it. Since I couldn't finish it, I asked for a to go box ( hey I can eat it tomorrow for lunch). So they packed it up, I said you can go ahead and put in the rice too. Here's the catch. They wanted me to pay an additional $2 to add on rice when rice comes with the meal! I was so confuse. The young lady said, "you order meal, you say hold on no rice, just pork and salad, but now you want rice, so you have to pay for rice." I showed her the menu and says the combo I'm paying for said it comes with pork, rice and salad. So I don't understand, isn't the rice already pre-made. She said, "you no want rice, now you want, so you pay more" I am just over it, they will not see a red cent from me ever. read more

I'm from Orange County so I'm a little particular about Vietnamese food. First off, their service is terrible. I know Viets are known for their lack of customer service but geez they need to get their act together. We had a party of 6 and 1 kid. They didn't have any high chairs and when I looked around none of the kids were in high chairs. I believe they only had one. Get more high chairs! We finally ordered after being rushed and told that the kitchen was closing although the sign outside said they weren't closed for another half hour. They were even refusing new customers as they were walking in. Do you guys want to make money or not? 2 of us ordered the com dac biet. The food was good and its cheap. I had the lemongrass chicken made extra spicy. You can really taste the lemongrass. I tried the durian shake which was good. I was expecting it to be pungent but it didn't smell bad or anything. The short ribs were cut real thin and tasted like korean BBQ but half the price! Very good. Continuing on my quest for half-decent Asiatic cuisine in South Florida, I happened upon Pho 16 the other night with stalwart and battle-worn dining companions JP and Prof. Ja. Our evening began with egg rolls, which were cylindrical meat-filled morsels of deliciousness. Accompanying dipping sauce proved a zesty companion. From there, we dove into our Pho with reckless abandon. The veritable pond of floating meatballs, pho noodles, and generous bean sprout/cilantro/jalapeño toppings were no match for me. There were no noodle survivors, I sucked down every ball, and vacuumed the broth remnants after devouring the balls. As with all Florida restaurants (ok, not all, but MOST), Pho 16 inhabits a sad^2 location in a strip mall with bad fluorescent light covers (oddly the same bad light covers that Aladdin uses -- so bad that the first time I saw them I thought "those are so horrible, Aladdin must have picked up the last ones on clearance"), but the service was cheery and apologetic that they had run out of most menu items that night. I was initially annoyed, but by the end of my pho bowl I honestly didn't care. I just wanted another bowl of pho. Good luck with your renovations, Pho 16. We'll be there when you reopen later in the month. Hopefully your contractor will take out those light covers. Your noodles deserve better. read more

Second visit: service keeps getting worse. Upon arriving we were seated very fast, and that will be the only time the staff will acknowledge you. Afterwards service is just beyond horrible. This waiter came to get our drink orders, we asked for 4 waters and 2 cafe su da and came back with 3 waters and 1 cafe...asked for the drinks again and came back with just 1 water. 3rd times the charm these staff finally got my cafe su da after back and forth. We proceeded to go ahead and order food, after ordering appetizers and 2 dishes with 2 more remaining, our waiter just walked away...umm okay rude much???? Then another waiter came to take our order, so we ordered again and at the end never got our appetizers until we asked again and again. Butttt the good food makes up for the lack in service. The hours of operation are odd too! They close at 8pm. The prices did go up a little bit and portions appear smaller but food is still good! Pho takes time to make, so it's easier to go and buy it. It is hard to find good pho in S Florida. So far this place is the exception. We've tried places in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and this place is at the top. We usually get the Pho Tai, and the one with the brisket. A lot of Pho places have problems with msg and oversalting their broth. The broth at Pho 16 is not too salty and it is flavorful. The soup comes out piping hot so the meat can cook. The raw bean sprouts, culantro, lime, cilantro and mint are fresh as well. We tried stir fried noodles with mixed seafood another time and it was pretty tasty as well. Just to warn you, this place is very busy. I had to take away one star for service. Our spring rolls were either forgotten or mixed up with another appetizer the two times we went there, and sometimes it was hard to catch the attention of the staff to refill water cups. But the staff is friendly, and for the food, we would go back. read more

I would never proclaim myself to be an expert on the level of someone who lives in say, L.A. or San Francisco, but for someone who lives in Palm Beach County, FL, I would say I have a pretty firm grasp on the subject of what's good and what's not. I've encountered a few different styles of pho broth in my day and this is of the sweet variety. For those that like the more savory variety of pho broth, this may not be your place. However, within th lighter, sweeter style, this is done perfectly. The noodles and beef are on point, so put it all together, and you have a pretty good option if you need a fix. I've found the staff there to be friendly and attentive, however I have noticed that if they don't like someone, they can be a little short/pretend not to know English. The moral of the story is be friendly to your servers. I've been here twice now and I haven't been disappointed, so 5/5 stars. read more

I noticed this small hole in the wall place for the first time today. It is small unpretentious personnel very friendly. The menu is extensive and was almost not understandable by me. I did however, notice the dish I had not had in more than 20 years. I noticed from the photograph, Banh Xeo, it was referred to in Houston as a Vietnamese pizza. It looks more like an omelette and is a fun dish to eat. Feel free to use your fingers. I will visit this place again in the near future with more information. read more

Was great UNTIL TODAY. Short story: They REFUSED to fix my order on their mess up after I paid cash. Also, there was a green moldy substance growing on my raw meat. Ordered the usual, but the usual girl didn't answer. The one that usually has no personality answered. She mumbled back my order, I told her I didn't understand. She got angry and I told her my order once more. I won't bash her for misunderstanding or a language barrier because I've dealt with language barrier all my life and understand the struggle. Basically I ordered one thing, she packed another thing and refused to change it when I picked it up after I paid. When I got home, I opened the box...put the liquid in the pot to cook the raw meat and found a moldy green substance on the meat. We went to walk in cuz the open sign was on and all three doors were locked with a some stupid sign that said "on break from 3-5p". Amazing egg rolls. Should have more options for Pho. I ordered the shrimp pho and it came in the same broth as the beef pho. I prefer a seafood broth when I'm eating seafood... Besides that, this place is pretty awesome. I got around 10 shrimp in my pho! My other preferred pho joint I only get 6. And it's cheaper here. The place is always packed and that says a lot.
