I had the beef pho here. It was acceptable but not great. It just wasn't as flavorful as others I've had. Mekong Delta in Baltimore Pho Dat Thanh in Columbia are better. The Vietnamese iced coffee is very good and the prices are good, however. read more

The overall rating on this place should be so much higher... I love pho, I have Vietnamese family, this place is outstanding-bowl no. 37 all the way--met the chef once, she's super cool This is my only "regular" joint (upwards of 30 visits in the past year) and it always delivers-delicious food, nice yet still casual decor, speedy and accommodating service, and drinks are quite reasonably priced. Love it! EDIT: they upped their prices! Meanwhile I found Pho Saigon (just up the road), and it's so much better AND it's BYOB! Sorry Pho No. 1, you lost me to Pho Saigon read more

Great food and great service and fare price. No complaints and tolerance for children and always warm smiles. Pho is real

Best pho broth.... Love it!!! Awesome portion and great taste! Simple, straightforward and fast service! Love it just the way it is! read more

Went here for the first time today. I ordered the pho ga. To be honest I didn't like how I got the ugly pieces of chicken lol. The chicken kinda had a strange taste. It just didn't sit right with me. The broth and noodles were good though! So were the spring rolls. I enjoyed eating those! Hated it when they were gone lol. The pricing of the meals were pretty fair. My meal was around $13.00. read more

Was here with the ladies of the family and we all left full and happy! My grandma was in the mood for Chinese and quite frankly, I'm not a fan of what the city has to offer so we came out to Pho #1. I've been a fan of Pho since my days back in Silver Spring, and figured its close enough, she'll never know its not Chinese! lol Service: awesome Food: 5+ yums I had regular chicken pho, my mom had one but it had seafood in it, and my grandma had steamed rice with beef and broccoli. I was glad that they don't cook with a lot of salt and grease, etc. because my grandma really can't be eating all that, and it was still very appetizing to her without it. Pho met our dietary and hunger needs - I'm pleased! read more

Pho in a strip mall, why would I expect more than 2 stars. The food was decent but figuring out what I wanted was a bit of a task. The menu had pictures and some descriptions. When you're a pescatarian like me or have a dietary restriction, it's important to know what is in your food. My server seemed annoyed that I was asking what kind of broth was used. In fact I had to ask him to not rush my order. I was starved so I did eat all of my meal. I'm in no rush to return. read more

Slightly weird smell but oh my god these egg rolls are my favorite. They're really flaky and crunchy. The sauce is amazing, and the pho has good portions with a good balanced broth. It's my fave pho place. Seriously though, try the egg rolls, but not the bubble tea read more

The pho here is just AWFUL! First time, we ordered pho w/ well done flank - the meat was not edible at all since every piece was all fat. The broth was very watered down - needed to add lots of sauce. Second time, we ordered pho w/ chicken since the beef was all fat during our previous visit. Well, while the chicken was ok, this time, the broth tasted like canned chicken broth that you buy at a grocery store. Needless to say, we will not be back... read more

My favorite place to go to, Pho or otherwise. Exceptional service (maybe because I've been here like a hundred times). Pho is always great, beef broth/chicken broth or veggie broth. Smoothies are thick and delicious and filling. Coffee's great too. Is a hair pricier than other pho places, but I feel worth it. read more

Excellent pho noodle soup. Can be a little tough to spot from the outside, as it's in the corner of an outdoor shopping center. Seat is drab, but they have tables and booths and TV's overhead if watching the game is your thing. Our noodle soups were great. Appetizers of spring rolls and imperial rolls were tasty with plenty of dipping sauce. read more

The pho is standard, you really can't go wrong with pho. I really enjoy the summer rolls and spring rolls here.

Vietnamese restaurant that serves Korean beef. It's good and I've been back. Service is quick and I leave full on rice and Korean beef.

This place is about a 10 minute drive from UMBC! Pho is good and the pork/beef rice dishes here are delicious. Trust me, I'm Vietnamese. Service is decent. I was here recently with some friends and they all loved the rice dishes. I also got their fried chicken, I don't remember what it was called, but it was in the back of the menu! Great food, good service. read more

I really like the décor of the place. The staff seem to be pretty attentive as well. I went once years ago and recently decided to try it out again. I ordered egg rolls assuming they would be something like spring rolls but this egg roll had some sort of meat roll inside. The roll was ok but in the future I'll know to inquire about veggie roll only. I ordered the Vietnamese spicy noodle bowl. I was told by the waitress it contained pig feet (being from the south I do like pig feet) but instead it had some other meats inside. I only recognized the steak meat. I have no clue what the orange ball of meat.... and I didn't ask.... just pushed it to the side.... ok I nibbled it a bit but decided to just put it aside. Other than mystery meats the soup was yummy. I think I will try one last time and be very specific with finding out the contents of my meal before deciding. read more

I love Pho #1. I really do. I want to marry the place and make sweet, sweet food love to it. You do have to go in knowing you won't get good service and that they include the tip. However, their prices are so cheap, that the tip is so minimal and the food is so good...it's totally worth it. read more

This place made me felt like home in Philadelphia. It felt like an authentic Vietnamese joint. They have about everything. I tried their bunbohue and boy was it good. Loved it. Also, the wait staff was awesome. Very attentive and kind. Love this place!! read more

Pho 1 - Bunbohue #yummm - Vietnamese Near Me - Catonsville, Maryland

this is my favorite spot too go too in baltimore!! service is ok but the pho makes up for it , affordable and healthy

This place is large and clean. We came in on a Saturday morning and found the service to be decent albeit slow. Here's why I would not return: as a pho lover, the place needs to exude the smell of the broth. This broth lacks depth of flavor and the taste of a deep broth. The bun bo hue was huge but again, broth didn't have my flavor. There was a lack of lemongrass, mam ruc (shrimp pate) and the other traditonal Vietnamese flavors. The iced coffee WA good and made the traditional drip style. Overall the prices were high compared to nearby pho places. 10 dollars for a large bowl of flavorless broth. read more

I had the Bun Bo Hue. It tasted great. The broth was very good; the meats were very good; the vegetables were very good.

I was surprised when I entered because it was cleaner/bigger/nicer than I had expected from just seeing the store front in the strip mall. I had to pick up a rental car near by and found this place through a quick google search. Our waiter was there before we even sat down and promptly brought us drinks. He continued to be very attentive and took our orders as soon as we were ready. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls and they were pretty tasty. I liked the peanut sauce more than the actual roll though. I also ordered shrimp pho and my mom ordered hers with chicken. We both agreed that it wasn't the most exciting dish, but it was good. The broth is a little bland, but I'm not familiar enough with Vietnamese food to know if this is the norm or not. The portions were huge and we left plenty in the bowl and were still very full. Overall it was a good experience and the price of our bill matched the quality of the food. read more

I love this place and being going for years. Tonight we decided to order the fried shrimp wontons as well as shrimp spring rolls with no pork. For our entrées we got basil chicken special as well as eggs fried vegetable, chicken and shrimp. I am honestly not sure of exact name but I will post a picture chicken and shrimp noodles. We also tried the apple custard smoothie with bubbles. It was delicious and yummy minus the bubbles, I honestly could do without. However the customer service and ambience is great love sense calm, peaceful and private seating. read more

Have been many, many times and have had numerous dishes including the spring rolls with peanut sauce, however this is my 1st review. The green papaya salad was absolutely amazing the last time I went as was my other dish with shrimp and pork cooked to perfection. The service is relatively friendly and definitely efficient. Of all the dishes offered on their extensive menu, I have yet to have the Pho which always looks completely amazing when I see it going to other tables...a must if you are in the area or just want some great Vietnamese food! read more

This place is ok, but not great, or good. Now, I ate there one day and had the restaurant pretty much to myself. Just me, oh, and the waitress. She was eating at another table. Probably why it took so long for a bowl of pho ga. I don't want to be so negative about that because maybe it wasn't her fault. Maybe someone close to her had just died and she was using her chicken soup to comfort her soul. I'd say, in that case, she needed hers way more than I needed mine. I believe enough in karma not to spread ill will, but when it takes almost an hour to have a bowl of soup for lunch, something is wrong. And, getting a glass of water refilled? Or the check? Well, maybe they've fixed it up by now, hopefully. The soup wasn't bad, just not good enough to deal with the possibility of wasting another afternoon alone in a booth. read more

The pho at Pho #1 is inconsistent and, with such good pho restaurants in the Catonsville area, that means I won't be choosing Pho #1. I've had amazing pho here, mediocre pho here, and flavorless pho here. When it's good, it's great. When it's not, it's meh. That said, their vietnamese coffee is perhaps the best around (although I've yet to find a way to make it that doesn't leave a mess). read more

When I first came here, I was greeted with friendly and quick service. The restaurant is now under new ownership and the new owner is less than stellar. He did this weird thing where he'd walk around and and pressure you into buying the most expensive dish even if its not the one you wanted. I was kind of put off by his pushiness, I don't think I'll go back. I ordered the original pho and at least that part didnt change. It was delicious as always. But if you're willing to sit through uncomfortable stares from the new manager for the pho I'd say go ahead. Or just take it to go. read more

Have been going to this joint for 9 years, and it never disappoints me! After trying other pho out there, this is still the spot that I keep coming back to. Their pho soup is the best that I have had. Not only it's not too overwhelming, but also has that great aftertaste no other pho has. Their durian shake is also amazing, if you are familiar with the durian taste. Tried their grilled beef and pork, they rolled a piece of onion in their pork which makes it tasted amazing! read more

Ordered carry out tonight. Pho tai, summer rolls and egg rolls. Even though I went straight home (I live roughly 5 minutes away) and assembled my soup, the broth was lukewarm at best. I had to heat it so I could cook my thin slices of steak in it. There was no sriracha or hoisin like you normally get with carry out pho. I like to use the two as a dip for my meat. Disappointed but I made do with BBQ and my own trusty bottle of sriracha. They also didn't include the chili oil I asked for. Didn't have any at home so, boo. I like to use it in my pho for heat on the tongue. The other standard accompaniments were there, fresh and there was plenty of basil, which I love. That being said, I wasn't wowed by the taste of the broth. It wasn't bad just not delicious. The summer rolls were just ok, kinda bland and I didn't care for the peanut dipping sauce. The egg rolls (summer rolls) were delish however. Crispy and hot. I'd return for those. I'd also return to try some of the other dishes (the grilled pork chop for one), but it won't be my go to spot for pho. Too bad. They're really close to my house. Service was very friendly and they offer you a beverage while you wait for your order. Restaurant was clean and had about 5 families eating in while I was waiting for my food. read more

I was looking forward to this being amazing considering some of the reviews, but disappointed. The chicken pho was pretty bland and not very flavorful. It was an ok experience but probably will not go back. read more

I may not be Vietnamese, but I do know good Pho... With most of their dishes ranging between $7-$13 Pho #1 is great pick. This place offers a wide selection of authentic Vietnamese meals with the freshest beef, chicken, pork and seafood dishes around. Having experienced dishes from the grilled "Bun Tom Thit Nuong Cha Gio" ("my regular #54" in my words) to the subtly flavored fresh spring rolls I can truly say that I have never had a bad meal here. Although they can be inconsistent at times depending on the time of day with presentation standard, what they lack they always make up for with customer service. Definitely one of my faves. read more

The food is always very good. And the employees are very friendly. Great pho and Korean bar b que.

Best Pho Ever! When I go in they make my pho special for me, with crispy noodles which is great. They also have a full bar, and stay open quite late in the evenings, so its a great place to chill after work. Ask Kenny (the owner) to make you up a drink of his choice - he comes up with great creations. They have a huge menu, and if you are in the know, you can order special things not on the menu, like wings. I gurantee that the wings are the greatest you will ever try, even if you disagree about the Pho. And I agree with Denise about the Avacado Shake - YUMMY! read more

so it's pho. and it's cheap. and it's easy. i guess that's the draw? i've been hearing about pho FOREVER, but never actually tried it until i came to this place on a fluke. lost in catonsville with a pregnant friend and both of us starving, i let her pick what/where to eat...and i honestly think she just selected the first thing she saw out the car window. fine. it was cold; soup sounded good. we were promptly greeted and seated. the place was quiet and a little...sticky. not terrible but they could definitely use a good scrub/mop. egh. i wasn't excited about having my pho cherry popped here. still, we ordered and enjoyed some hot tea while we waited. the pho arrives and holy huge steaming bowls!!! these things were bigger than our heads and filled to to the brim with veggies (mine), meat (hers), noodles and broth. wow. i got a little excited. unfortunately, i think it was just my hungry eyes taking in the sight of so much to eat. what my bowl of pho had in heat and abundance, it lacked in flavor. i spinkled in a couple of the spices from the rack at the table, and squirted in a bunch of sriracha. that gave it a different kind of heat, but still not much flavor. my preggers friend happily slurped away at hers, so maybe it was just me [or maybe it was her greedy fetus]. i don't see another occasion for me to go to catonsville or patronize pho #1, so we may never know. but i will give pho, in general, another chance. read more

The pho here is decent. It used to taste better and more flavorful but they've since changed that. It is now smaller servings, less meat, and a more watered down broth. However, their rice dishes are pretty good like the cornish hen with yellow rice and com tam. Now when i say decent, im comparing it to viet food in Socal...nothing can beat Socal viet food. When I get the com tam, i order a fried egg on the side...however they charge 50 cents for it. -__- I think com tam should always include fried egg at no extra charge. They also have boba! I got the durian smoothy boba once and it was aight. Wasn't fresh durian, more like durian flavor (I guess they don't want the store to stink?) The tapioca balls were actually quite good since it wasn't overcooked and still chewy. Service is above average for pho places and you can just pay separately at the counter and not worry about splitting the bill. Wish there were more viet places to choose from, but for now this place will have to do. read more

I think it's pretty good. The meat is tender. The broth is a little bit on the lighter side and they are a bit skimpy on the noodles. The Pho was tasty. The summer rolls were delicious. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The biggest plus is that it's cheap. $10 with tip and tax for a full meal. Can't beat it. read more

Their pho is pretty disgusting. It tastes watered down and very sweet. They have a large variety of other dishes. Their vermicelli noodles are kinda crunchy... think undercooked, but weird. Their rice dishes are okay. Its the one place in Maryland that I've found AVOCADO SMOOTHIES!!! YUM. read more

I think this place is great. Good tasting broth for the Pho - and a HUGE menu of other authentic dishes to choose from. My buddies and I stop by here pretty regularly - and the 4 of us eat enough for an army. Anyhow - it's a great deal, and tons of food. Try the fried shrimp, and the meat plate combo if you're loading up on protein. And of course - a #1 w/ meatballs. Check out the Durian shake if you're feeling adventurous. read more
