While the breaker issue caused real inconvenience and unexpected costs on my end, the owner was responsive and showed willingness to smooth things over to work toward a resolution. I also want to highlight that the panel upgrade and solar/battery installation itself was clean and well done. The workmanship that Eddie, Manny, Christian and Jamie performed had overall met my expectations, and once the issue was identified, Sunline did step in to correct it. No project is perfect, but how a company responds when problems arise matters a lot. In this case, Sunline's owner and Eric was engaged, responsive, and made a sincere effort to make things right. As an engineer, and after witnessing the symptoms and corrective actions firsthand, I believe the breaker issue was likely a manufacturing defect, and it was unfortunate that it occurred during the holidays. The panels have been sitting on our roof doing absolutely nothing while we continue paying full electric bills every month. Eight months of delays, no clear answers, and no firm activation date. Communication has been inconsistent and unprofessional. We've had to chase them for updates, and we still don't have resolution. To make matters worse, their installation caused a roof leak, which we only discovered when it rained. Now, instead of saving money with solar, we're dealing with potential water damage to our home because of their workmanship. At this point, we are filing formal complaints with the: * California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) * Better Business Bureau (BBB) * California Attorney General's Office If this situation is not resolved immediately -- including system activation and proper repair of the roof damage -- we are prepared to pursue legal action for breach of contract and property damage. The installation crew came out and they were EVEN better than the customer service and sales rep. Eduardo Naranjo needs a promotion and a raise. The man was so humble, genuine and all around a great guy. He dealt with my kids and many dogs with no fear lol. He was professional and kept me apprised of everything the crew was doing. At then end of the installation I was sad to see the man and his team go because they were so personable and efficient.
