John, the owner of JMT Electric is a "class" guy. He is dependable and knowledgeable.. Let me be more specific. My GFI went and needed replacement. I tried to do it myself but it was a difficult task simple because of all the lines connecting at that point, such as, my refrigerator, Microwave and Oven. I made an appointment for John to do it. John said fine, but if you go buy a new 20 amp GFI, I can walk you through it and save you the cost of him coming out. So I said I'll try is. I was busy with doctor appointment but in between he fit me in. Oh, I actually called him of Father's Day and he was at a party. To make this short, I bought the GFI, came home and called him and he walked me through the process, including turning the circuit breaker off and on. I did it and it worked. We were putting in a spa and needed to add a junction box. John showed up with two of his sons. He installed the pre wiring for the spa and stated he would return to hook up the spa once it arrived. Once the spa arrived it was supposed to be a quick and easy setup. He hooked it up and it did not work. He confirmed there was power going to the spa. The problem was with the mother board of the spa. At this point he could have left and had the manufacturer come fix the problem. John took the mother board of the spa off and read the schematic. He could see that there were some wires that appeared to be in the wrong location. He called the manufacturer to confirm. The wrong wiring caused one of three fuses to blow. Fuses are not a standard part electricians carry around. John went to Home Depot and bought fuses. He came back and again got on the phone with the manufacturer. After blowing two more fuses he determined there was another wiring error on the mother board. He was able to correct the errors and get my spa running. A job that should have taken 30-45 minutes ended up taking over three hours. He was on the phone with the manufacturer numerous times trying to locate the wiring issues. He had to cancel his afternoon appointments to complete the job. John took the time to find the problem and fix the problem. I am sure that many other electricians would have left and made me call the manufacturer to fix their mistake. John Thomas went way above and beyond to make sure he completed the job. I rarely see this type of work ethic. I asked him how much more he was going to charge based on the length of time it took to complete. He told me it was not my fault and it would not be right to charge me. He followed up a few days later to make sure everything was running correctly. The pricing was fair, and there wasn't any of the headaches that I had to experience with my other contractors (I was doing a whole house renovation). This company came highly recommended on Yelp, so maybe if they actually show up their work is decent. I spoke with them on the phone on Tuesday. They said that they would juggle some things around and make it out to my home at the end of the day on Friday. They asked me to text my address to two phone numbers, which I did. I started texting and calling on Thursday and thru Friday to find out what time they would be there. They never returned a call or text and never showed. Meanwhile, we were depending on them to show up as our AC is out due to an electrical issue. The AC service tech recommended we get an electrician to look at it. John showed up within the appointment time. He installed approximately 75' 220V for a spa my wife and I purchased. He was very courteous and professional. He brought along his two young sons who were very well behaved. They assisted him in measuring, gathering tools, and other miscellaneous needs, as well as, picking up trash, once the wire installation was complete. I contacted him today and left a message that my spa will be delivered on Monday. I am awaiting his phone call, to set up a time to hard wire the unit. I'll update my review, once the work is complete. Update: June 7, 2017. John showed up within the time he promised, to complete the wiring of my spa. He is very flexible. I wasn't home, but my 18 year old son was to give him access to the backyard. My son spent part of his afternoon watching John's work. He must have been curious. Once John finished connecting the power to the spa, he showed my son the controls of the spa. I am very pleased to say that John did outstanding work and I would recommend him to any of my friends and family.
