Came here while in town at Kingston with my whole family. It's a walking distance from the port after going on the 1000 island cruise tour. Quite a lot of seats, more people are getting take out than dining in. The food is honestly not bad, I got the ginger chicken but the chicken is a bit too overcooked, they used breast. The fresh spring roll was put on top of each other so the rice roll got stuck and tipped apart, needed utensils for the hand roll. My family enjoyed their curry. Crispy shrimp is good too, not bad. Service was just fine as well. They're all really nice and quick. I think the downside to this restaurant would be the many flies around the restaurant, the washrooms are very gross, extremely run down, one of the stalls doesn't have a lock working. Just dirty and need a makeover so bad. I would not come here again to be honest. read more

VERY Nice surprise! We were worried as place was empty on busy Convocation week and some negative reviews but not recent. Service was great, kept the water filled. Food was fresh, hot and very tasty. Tom Ka was a smaller serving than normal but entrees were good. Recommend Ginger Beef or the Lemongrass. Prices were fair. Ambiance is typical, nothing special. read more

On our last day in Kingston, we stopped here for lunch. The service was quick and efficient. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was interesting. It definitely did not taste like any Pad Thai I've had before. Maybe it's a Cambodian style Pad Thai? I still thoroughly enjoyed it! Great authentic food with a smile for service! Loved the atmosphere of the Cambodian Culture!

I've got pretty high expectations for my Phanang Kai (Coconut Curried Chicken) now. Compared to the Cambodian village next door, Pat's Cambodian restaurant or Khmer Thai in Toronto this one now comes in last (albiet by a very slim margin - they're all good). It lacks the tomatoes and cucumbers that normally accompany this dish at the other places, and was a tad less flavourful than the others. Not to mention that this was also the most expensive of them all topping in at a measly $10, but the better food experience is right next door. The problem with the Cambodian Village next door is the lack of service and is more akin to a fast food experience than a sit down restaurant. I find it strange that Kingston has a plethora of Cambodian food choices. Overall it's okay, but my expectations have been raised. read more

Not bad in general. The salad spring roll's pretty big and nice. The Phad Thai did really NOT taste like Phad Thai at all. It's more like soy sauce noodles! But the other dish with the curry (forgot the name, it's number 1 on the menu) was super good! The chicken in both dishes tastes pretty bad tho. read more

Honestly not impressed service was sketchy: my friend arrived a little late and was not even given water or a menu to order until we recieved our appetizers. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the servers were just siting there. Wonton soup was salty and smelly. Pad Thai didnt really taste like pad thai but rather sou sauce noodles. Never dined-in, only gotten takeout (as I hate to say the restaurant isn't that nice). We order the #1 (red curry with chicken, basil and peanuts). It's a sweeter sauce, which I happen to like. I always ask for extra coconut milk, but I usually never get it. Twice I did - once there was an extra drizzle on top, and one other time they sent an extra little container in the takeout bag. The portions SEEM big as they give you a huge takeout container...but when you open it, there's a ton of rice (the cheap stuff), and much less chicken and sauce than you think. the restaurant derives it's named after the capital of Cambodia, Phnom-Penh We ordered 2 dishes that came with rice. 1. Lemon Grass Beef Tender Beef stir-fried with Red & Green Pepper, Onion & our Tasty Lemon Grass Paste 2. Phanaeng Kai Chicken Curry, Basil, Peanut & Coconut Milk It was our first time trying Cambodian food. Would say it's very similar to Thai flavours but with a little more kick. Lemon Grass Beef - my take it kind of an oily dish, very tasty and flavourful. Phanaeng Kai - like having the satay on a skewers turned into a full on curry dish. On their own I would be easily get tired of them, but when one shares different dishes its awesome. Service is okay, this place is family run, with many young girl servers, i can hear them talking amongst themselves in the background, and surfing the web on at least 3 laptops and 1 desktop. it's like a internet cafe at the bar. lol Anyways the restaurant is a good choice but I have to try a lot more Cambodian food to make a proper comparison. read more

Popular for quick service and good prices for huge portions. Your standard Thai fare (which is surprisingly plentiful in Kingston) mixed in with a few Chinese and Cambodian styled dishes. Nothing much to excite these taste buds but they have some highlights including SP #1 Phanang Kai. Decent curries in general and some enjoy the soups in the Winter. I'm not overly impressed and the decor is dated and the place is a bit dark and dank. read more

Both dishes we had were exceedingly mediocre. Big pile of noodles but so little 'stuff' that half way through we only had plain noodles. No real zing to any part of the meal. Like others have said, this place was started by Pat of the other Thai restaurant in town then sold off. The new owners are not doing a good job. Give it a pass. read more

I ordered delivery and they said it would take about 30 minutes but it actually took 2 hours. I asked if I could get a discount because of the bad service and a worker got extremely angry as if it was my fault. Not impressed & won't be ordering from here again. read more

Settings aren't lavish but the wait staff are friendly, the food is great and the price very reasonable for the portions you receive.

This place is overpriced for the amount of food they serve you. Their dishes are 75% rice/noodles, and they barely include any sides (chicken, vegetables, etc). I ordered the #1, it was a house favorite, and it had about a cup of rice with 3 small pieces of chicken. Just 3! Plus, the fish cakes tasted like something they took out of the freezer and just thrown in the fryer. This restaurant definitely doesn't care about returning customers, and I advise all future people from eating from here. They also didn't have any Thai iced tea. read more
