We came here for a late lunch, seeking some warm soup amidst the drizzling weather outside. Cambodiana has been open for many years now, but my boyfriend (a Queens grad) has never been... but no time like the present! The place takes only debit or cash, so don't forget to bring more than just your credit card! We shared a pad thai, a Cambodiana (green curry based) soup, and then got an iced coffee to go. All were soooo good!! The Cambodiana had a slight kick, but was quite milky rich with coconut milk. It was loaded with chicken strips and bamboo shoots. It basically tastes like a flavourful, watered down green curry... but I'm not complaining! The pad thai was not greasy nor too soft / soggy. There were a few pieces of plump shrimp and the portion sizes were very generous! We were stuffed upon finishing the two mains, and even had to leave some rice behind. I had a coffee craving, so we got a coffee before leaving. At first, I was shocked by the price tag (almost $6 for a one size / small), but the iced coffee was so smooth and rich. It basically tasted like a Vietnamese iced coffee, but much less stringent and not as sweet. A lot of effort was also put into it, with small crushed up bits of ice that quickly cooled down the drink. Delicious! Would love to come back again for Cambodian food. read more

Excellent food with great, hearty portions! I had the tofu pad thai with Thai style stir-fried noodles with fried tofu, green onion, bean sprouts, and roasted peanuts which was delicious! I liked that there was a good amount of peanuts sprinkled on the pad thai, giving it texture, and the tofu was soft, tasty, and altogether fantastic. I also tried some of the panang curry tofu which, served with a base of coconut milk, tasted fresh and yummy. One of my favourite parts of this restaurant was its ambience -- it's a homey and cozy place and it was fairly quiet when I went on a Wednesday evening. Their hours are pretty limited though (until 8pm on all nights and they're closed on Sundays) so I would keep an eye out for that. Our server was excellent and the location of the restaurant is pretty sweet too -- right in front of the hospital with all the downtown bus stops. I will definitely be back! read more

Came here with fam and everyone liked their respective dishes, but after trying other dishes from each other, some of us decided to get a different dish next time. For example, I got the no.8 I liked it but it was very spicy (hot) for me, I probably would go with No. 13 on my next visit. The pad thai was also good but could be a little spicier. Midway between here and Montreal is the town of Kingston, where apparantly there are many Cambodian restaurants: the obvious choice for dinner for this curious foodie! On the corner of Brock St. and Montreal St, you'll see what looks like a house from the outside. It's a small space with a strong heater, relaxing piano music and paintings of Cambodia on the walls. There's a paid parking lot in the back that you can access through an alley besides the restaurant, or you can enter off of Montreal St. Host/server was polite but not very chatty; He'll answer any question you have about the menu. Food comes out quick. ORDERED: -Devil Red Curry Chicken was spicy! Hubby enjoyed it immensely. -Kako Khmer (chicken, green papaya, green jackfruit, green chili, coconut milk, eggplant, and green beans) is a sweet green curry dish which I loved, except for the green jackfruit. Host/waiter was attentive and kept our water glasses topped off; then when we were done, he took our plates into the kitchen and wrapped up our leftovers. Verdict? My boyfriend and I were pretty spent after spending the morning walking through princess street. In desperate need for some refreshing food, we found this place through the rave yelp reviews and I am so glad that we decided to eat here! Very easy to find, we were immediately seated and handed menus to look over. The menu is pretty big and broken into Cambodian and Thai sections. Being Thai, I decided to venture into something Cambodian. Im glad I had read the yelp reviews that mentioned the large portions here because we ordered one entree to share that was plenty enough food for the both of us. We decided to go for the vermicelli noodles with bbq shrimp & pork, and fried egg rolls. It was served with a nice helping of lettuce and veggies which made the whole meal light and refreshing, but filling. When I was studying at Queen's University, this place was one of my favourite. 10 years hence, every time, I make a trip to the place, it still remains my favourite. The taste hasn't changed - it's pretty addictive. The dishes with the coconut milk just tastes great. The Shrimp Sping Rolls is something not to be missed - please order that. The items on the menu with the curries is wonderful. The quantity is perfect. This is a very small place and there are only a couple of people serving you. It's all about efficiency and customer satisfaction. I love the paintings on the Angkor Wat temple. I haven't been to Cambodia before but if the food there tastes like this, am going to make a trip there soon! read more

Unpretentious place, friendly staff, great service, and excellent food. My favourite dish is their exquisite Spicy Sour Curry Noodle Soup (haven't been able to find that kind of soup anywhere else). Having been to Cambodia, I'd argue that the food at Cambodiana comes pretty close! I don't even live in Kingston but every time I'm in town, I go to this restaurant. Highly recommended. read more

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Kingston. I have never had a single dish here that I did not like. Large portions, with lots of sauce to mix in with your rice, plenty of chicken and vegetables. Mmmm. The #28 Chef's Special is my go-to dish. It's chicken, rice, and sweet potato with a flavourful and slightly spicy curry sauce. Man it's good! I order it with some fresh, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers on the side. The freshness and coolness of the veggies combine so well with the heat and spice of the sauce. Aaahh, I'm getting hungry just writing this review. My friend always orders the #1 and says she might name her first-born after it. It's that good. read more

Okay...so I might have been a bit harsh with my last review. The new owners can't make my favourite dish #4 with spring rolls and BBQ pork like it used to be so I had to get over the bitterness. But I've since discovered #28 Chef's Special sweet potato/chicken and rice.....niiiice. My got-to meal when it's a blutsery winter night and you're hungry. I found this place about 8 years ago, and let me tell you, I've been coming back ever since. The portions are HUGE, and saucy, and delicious! My go to is the #1 because it's sooo good. It has just the right amount of spice, and the tomato and cucumber on the side just perfect it. However, lately I have going to the #28 and adding the cucumber and tomato. It's just a bit more spicy, and the sweet potato just makes it so much better. Would recommend 10000%! read more

The place is really small and cosy. The food was really good. The fresh spring rolls was really good and has a distant taste but too bad they cut the shrimp in half so you only get 1 1/2 shrimp in each rolls. We ordered the ginger beef and the Thai style - stir fry with shrimp and chicken. Relay good. Food came out really hot. Unfortunately we didn't know it was individual servings. If you want to share make sure to tell the waiter. Overall the food was excellent and large portions. Service was good as well. read more
