I tried the Spring Rolls, Mango Salad, and Drunken Noodles. The dipping sauce for the spring rolls was a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The mango salad was delicious, though I would've loved a bit of heat in it, or perhaps if the mangoes weren't quite as ripe to reduce some of the sweetness, since the sauce was already on the sweeter side. The drunken noodles were tasty, but the chicken was a bit dry, and I wish there was a spicier option for the dish. Thai House (unlike certain Thai chain resturants that I won't name) is nestled in downtown Kingston, only a short walk from Murney Tower and Mio Gelato. The bright yellow awning can serve as a handy landmark while exploring Kingston's downtown core. Eggs feature prominently in some dishes, something I am mostly neutral on. Where Thai House really shines is it's commitment to REAL food at CONSISTENT prices. The resturant understandably responded to the covid 19 pandemic with policies designed to meet the moment. Very tasty! There are so many good restaurants in Kingston. This Thai House is a hidden charm! It locates on the side street off Princess Street. The Tom Yum soup is very tasty! There are four large shrimps with lots of fresh mushrooms. The red curry chicken and chef special pad thai are also very yum. The main courses are very sizable! There are more than a few Thai options in Kingston, but this one should be your only stop. The place feels authentic and serves authentic food and offers a great lunch special that will knock your socks off. The lunch specials are a flat 9.95 and include rice (unless you opt for one of two noodle dishes), spring roll and soup of the day. My test of every thai place is the pad thai, and I think the That House Cuisine version is spot on. The lunch special version is served on a large platter with a side of garden salad dressed in a house dressing and the noodles are in no way overly saucy. It's just the right consistency! The ambiance and decor are good, and the service is very quick and efficient. Please give the Shrimp chips a try, too - a great appetizer to add on to lunch or dinner. read more

Discovered this restaurant on a recent visit to Kingston.We ate far more that we should have because the food was of terrific quality and excellent value for the price. Dishes that stood out included the lemongrass seafood soup Thai curried eggplant;ginger duck and the Mango salad;all excellent. We've eaten in and taken-out, and this a great spot. Spring rolls are a little disappointing (reminds me of ones you would buy in the frozen food section of the grocery store), but we certainly enjoy the meals. We order the red curry coconut dish, and ask for it mild (a little too spicy for us ordered as-is). The sauce has bamboo shoots cooked in, which adds a little unique crunch. The chicken is thin sliced and a little fatty (I find myself having to pick around hard bits of fat), so I can't give it 5 stars, but the coconut curry sauce is incredible! I could eat it by itself. Yelpers helped to find this place. The outer look is not attractive on a side street. Once stepped in, you can feel that it is a decent Thai restaurant with nice layout on tables. We are always greeted with smiles. The presentation of the food is western and nicely matched with colors and usually food on a plate is separately well to entice your appetite. The Green Curry Chicken is not that hot and is good to melt into the rice with coconut smell. The Beef and Chicken satay is juicy and with its peanut sauce cannot be beatable. The satay did not stick to the bamboo stick which is easy to take them out. The pineapple fried rice is not surprise to be on a half cut fresh pineapple. It can compare to any Thai restaurants in Toronto. But to our surprise when we packed the fried rice, the pineapple crust is also given to us, a sign that each Pineapple Fried Rice the pineapple crust is never being reused ! The Pad Thai is average. We tried Thai House Cuisine for the first time recently and really liked it. We ordered a few standards, Pad Thai, Red Curry, and Cashew Chicken and they were all pretty yummy. I feel each dish could have come with more vegetables, but I can't complain at all about the taste. My dad really likes red curry dishes, but is a real wimp when it comes to the spice. He ordered his curry dish mild, and was practically ecstatic when he found all the taste he likes but without having his mouth burn off. He often finds that even when he orders dishes mild, they are still too spicy. I guess he'll be dropping by Thai House Cuisine more often now :) From my perspective, I ordered my Red Curry Vegetable dish as it came, but next time I'd ask for spicy. Tonight was the first time I had eaten at The Thai house. The food was good but the service was terrible. My husband arrived prior to me and ordered a glass of wine. I arrived and then they brought him his wine. No one asked if I wanted a drink. We sat there for at least 15 minutes watching the waitress serve the only other 2 tables in our section. I guess we were invisible. Finally we had to loudly ask her to come over and take our order. There are too many other good restaurants in town that would welcome our business. Thai House offers a wide range of Thai cuisine. I have tried the pad thai, thai eggplant, green curry, red curry, mango salad, cold spring rolls and deep friend spring rolls. All of these dishes were excellent. Unfortunately, service isn't always consistent. I have had both good and bad experiences in this respect. For example, I was unaware that the restaurant offered lunch specials and noticed it advertised when I was picking up take-out. I had ordered something that was included on the lunch special menu. Instead of offering to give me the lunch special price, they charged me the full menu price and told me to "specify next time if I want lunch special." I thought that was pretty discourteous. On the other hand, I will give them credit for handling an issue I had with my order. There was a problem with my takeout and I brought it back to the restaurant. The server immediately offered to refund what I paid immediately and gave me a 20% off card for my next visit, no questions asked. I thought they handled the situation perfectly. read more

I will start off by saying I've definitely tasted better Thai food but for a college city I guess it's alright. We ordered Pad Thai, beef curry and shrimp satay. The food came out quick. Our waitress was pleasant and even gave us sightseeing tips! Please pass on the Pad Thai it swims in sauce...Pad Thai is never saucy. I highly recommend the beef curry if you like coconut milk you will defiantly like it and the shrimp satay was good not outstanding. 2 Stars for the service and ambiance, 1 Star for the food. read more

We always order take out from Thai House without disappointment. Always hot when we pick-up, reasonably priced, with good portion sizes. Mango salad, thick coconut curry with rice and spring rolls are our go-to's, though the rest of the menu is great! This is one of my favourite places to eat in both Belleville and Kingston. I went to the Belleville one for a long time before I realized that it was in Kingston, too. The prices are very reasonable, the food is excellent and always hot from the kitchen. We ALWAYS go here when we need a quick meal - no matter what the kitchen team always seems to pump out quality, hot food very quickly. Some of our favourites include: garlic beef, the spring rolls, and the red curry. I do not like spicy food AT ALL and that typically limits me with other cuisines but the Thai House has a lot of ginger and garlic options and many things that have very little spice for a whimp like myself. Sadly my review is a poor one. For so long I loved this restaurant however after dining here lately it has gone south. Last night I ordered Veg Pad Thai and tea. After waiting over half an hour the food presented was dreadful. Soggy red noodles with soggy core of a Bok Choy, a carrot and 2 pieces of tiny broccoli. I felt like I was served the leftovers of a former customer. They are obviously cutting corners which means cutting customers. I really like Thai House, and used to go / order out a lot. Their curries are really good, and it used to be my favourite place in Kingston to grab pad Thai. Unfortunately i find there are consistency problems, and I sometimes get a ton of meat/tofu and other times barely get any. It is never bad, but I never quite know what I'm going to get. I find their dine in is generally better (though same price as takeout). It had a nicer decor than most Thai/Viet places in Kingston, and the staff are always fast and friendly. It's half a block of princess too, which can help with getting close parking. read more

This is a great spot for dinner with friends - Order several dishes and share. Some of our favorites include the pad Thai, the spring rolls and the mixed vegetables. The spicy chicken was listed as a one pepper (mildly spicy) but we found it to be quite spicy by Canadian standards. The service and and ambience is great.
