Veggie red curry and veggie spring rolls take out - so so good!!
    Brittany A.

Super delicous Thai food! Stopped by after a long relaxing walk through downtown Kingston hungry for some tasty dinner. Opted for an order of veggie spring rolls and spicy red veggie curry with steamed rice to go. Server was very sweet and friendly. Spring rolls were super flavourful, nice and crispy, not greasy at all. Loved the dipping sauce which accompanied them - tangy, sweet with a touch of garlic. The red curry was so satisfying - spicy and creamy with coconut milk. Veggies were crisp but tender and the fried tofu was perfect. Want to return to try their dine in experience!

Absolutely the best Thai food! And that means anywhere! Forget about Toronto or even BC, this place is fresh tasty and full of flavour! The hot n sour soup was better than any other with the sauce having a light colour and none of those pickle weared tasting stuff in it. Perfect spice. The Green curry was hot and all the veggies were fresh and you can tell they use coconut milk not water. I just loved it. You absolutely need to come here and try it!!!

While touring about in Kingston, we found this place for lunch on Yelp. The decor is charming--like old french inn style. The walls are brick and stone. The kitchen is open. There is patio seating on the street side. We ordered basil spicy noodle, curry pad thai w/ chicken, ginger chicken, and spring rolls. Topped it off w/ thai tea. It got really busy after we were seated, so it took a long time for food to come. The food was excellent.

After spending much of the day exploring Kingston we wanted to find a nice comfortable restaurant and enjoy a great meal, after going back and forth on our decision we chose Apsara Angkor. The restaurant's interior and sidewalk dining area were about half filled and the menu looked surprisingly appetizing and of course the Yelp reviews were very convincing as well. We were seated immediately after entering the restaurant and shortly there after our friendly server joined us. We ordered our drinks and the shrimp wonton appetizer while deciding on our entrees. Our food arrived piping hot and looked wonderful, then the disappointment set in I love Thai food not only for its textures and flavors but because I like the levels of heat - my choice is always "Thai Hot" I have no fear when it comes to spiciness, unfortunately my dish was about as bland as you can get, absolutely no heat and it lacked flavor to the point I could not eat it. Our server immediately recognized something was not right and I informed her of the issue and she immediately offered to bring out something to kick it up a few notches. I really prefer to not add condiments when I order something a certain way and told her just to take it away. The owner/ chef came to our table very apologetic and offered to add the spices to my dish and recook my dish (this never works out). After waiting quite awhile my modified dish returned of course my girl friend was done eating so no matter this very sincere effort wasn't going to fix the issue. The dish was somewhat better but still disappointing and not very spicy. I understand mistakes happen and I appreciate the effort but I'm going to go with this place is just okay...

    Eggplant, chicken and mixed vegetables

Perfectly Covid friendly and comfortable. Ordered 2 dishes: eggplant with chicken & mixed veg and chicken pad Thai. Both excellent!! Such fresh, authentic food. Nice size portions at very reasonable prices. In the warmer months, they have a little patio out front. Love this place.

Fast friendly service and very tasty food for decent price. Tried the ginger chicken/beef, the cashew nut chicken and the spring roll appetizer. Would definitely recommend it!

Great. Comfortable, good service, and everyone in the party loved their meals. It felt like a good value as well.

The place takes only debit or cash, so don't forget to bring more than just your credit card! We shared a pad thai, a Cambodiana (green curry based) soup, and then got an iced coffee to go. All were soooo good!! The Cambodiana had a slight kick, but was quite milky rich with coconut milk. It was loaded with chicken strips and bamboo shoots. It basically tastes like a flavourful, watered down green curry... but I'm not complaining! The pad thai was not greasy nor too soft / soggy. There were a few pieces of plump shrimp and the portion sizes were very generous! We were stuffed upon finishing the two mains, and even had to leave some rice behind. I had a coffee craving, so we got a coffee before leaving. At first, I was shocked by the price tag (almost $6 for a one size / small), but the iced coffee was so smooth and rich. It basically tasted like a Vietnamese iced coffee, but much less stringent and not as sweet. A lot of effort was also put into it, with small crushed up bits of ice that quickly cooled down the drink. Delicious! Would love to come back again for Cambodian food.

I liked that there was a good amount of peanuts sprinkled on the pad thai, giving it texture, and the tofu was soft, tasty, and altogether fantastic. I also tried some of the panang curry tofu which, served with a base of coconut milk, tasted fresh and yummy. One of my favourite parts of this restaurant was its ambience -- it's a homey and cozy place and it was fairly quiet when I went on a Wednesday evening. Their hours are pretty limited though (until 8pm on all nights and they're closed on Sundays) so I would keep an eye out for that. Our server was excellent and the location of the restaurant is pretty sweet too -- right in front of the hospital with all the downtown bus stops. I will definitely be back!

All dishes were very unique and very flavorful. The red curry was outstanding. Some of the best I've ever tried, and red curry is always my go-to dish for Thai restaurants. They are not stingy with the basil! The green curry soup had a hint of sourness as per its name, but it's not really sour. It was delicious and very much like the traditional Thai green curry except in soup form. The pad Thai was beautiful looking but in general I don't enjoy pad Thai as one of my favorites. My dad said he enjoyed it, but I wasn't really able to judge by just a few bites. My least favorite of the 4 entrees for sure. Mom ordered number 5, a chicken stir fry. It was in a yellowish curry like sauce. It didn't seem flavorful at first but after a few bites it really grew on me. I ended up eating the rest of the sauce after she had finished all the veggies and chicken. Prices were around $13 for each meal and they had special dishes for $15. Pretty good deal considering the portion sizes are very big. I loved it!!

As of any restaurant, the predominant portion of food is rice or noodles. I got the pad Thai and it was a little bit on the acidic end of the spectrum for me. But otherwise it was tasty, although a little bit bland.
