I've never been to Philly and I dont eat steak this place broke me. First, I got mine with chicken not steak but its the thought that counts. Second, this is Placentia not Philadelphia but again, its the thought that counts. Whatever is in the sandwich tastes bomb because I've been going here at least once a week for a while now. The guy who is always there working is nice and polite. There's a yelp check in for free fries. The fries are nothing amazing but theyre free so oh well. My wife ordered online several hours ahead for a later pick up time as we were on the road headed home. There was no traffic, so we got there about a half hour ahead of our planned pickup time. The staff greeted me, was very pleasant, said no problem and within what seemed like a few minutes, they had our custom order hot and ready to go. They don't use 100% real cheese on their phillys best Cheese steak. It was a mix of mozzarella and probably a white nacho cheese like substance. It didn't get stringy like real cheese. And it just stayed wet-looking like a mixture of fake nacho cheese (but white). I got the onion rings and u could taste the bad/old oil which ruined the perfectly cooked onion rings. Texture was very nice and the onions itself tasted fresh, but the bad oil messed it up. People were nice and the pepper/jalapeño bar was kinda cool so I give it a couple stars. Philly's Best is ok. Meaning it is passable if this is your only choice in the area and you have a craving for cheese steak. The pepper and mushroom cheese steak and it was a let down. They did not use fresh bell pepper, instead, their version of pepper is the standard vinegar jalepenos. Also the mushroom is canned and not fresh. They use Amaroso bread from Philly which I appreciate and it is nicely toasted. The onion rings was over cooked and tasteless. The batter was very oily. Not a fan. read more

I find this place pretty delicious! Tried their traditional cheesesteak and the chicken bacon ranch. Both were full of bomb flavors. Cheesesteak had the extra cheesy goodness that you would expect in a cheesesteak sandwich. I do think they can take it down a notch with the salt though. Fries are the "cornstarch" crispy type of fries. They give you a good handful too! Definitely a "guilty pleasure" meal. Will be back soon! read more

I also took advantage of the free fries offer for checking in on yelp. The sandwich was good. I loved the roll it was on, tasted great, nice and fresh, and not chewy. The steak was thinly sliced, tender, & easy to chew. The onions I could barley tell were on the sandwich. Mushrooms were good, but the peppers I didn't care for. They were sweet and I just didn't care for the sweet with my sandwich. Next time I will order the cheesesteak with just onions. The free fries were okay, they were best hot, as they cooled down just ok. I couldn't finish them. I wouldn't order them next time, not something I would crave. They have fountain drinks and bottled Coke products. They have several tables with chairs, and also high tops. It was a little cold inside, the a/c was pumping, so bring a jacket in case. It was busy with online orders, and to go orders. The service was quick, we received our food promptly. The place clean. While I can say I've never had a cheesesteak from Philly, I can say this was a pretty damn good meal. I called them for pick up and the wait time was only about 10 minutes. I had ordered 2 original cheesesteaks and 1 buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken was great! I normally stray away from buffalo chicken as the flavor is not one of my favorites but I really wanted to see how they would make it. The flavor was just right and not overpowering at all. Now, the original cheesesteak. Y'all. ..I loved it! The meat was tender the sandwhich was, and I know people hate this word, moist! The bread was bread, not too bread-y. My friend turned me onto this place years ago when he found out they had whiz cheese here and had to convince my stubborn self that it was better than it sounded. Once I had true whiz on a cheesesteak, I could never go back to provolone. For those that haven't had it, its nothing like the whiz cheese that comes in a can, but a thick buttery cheddar cheese sauce.
