7" The Mushroom Philly Cheesesteak - no cheese

I hadn't had PC for over 15-years, so I was so excited to have it again. However, it was a lackluster experience, I'm sorry to say! The service was absolutely wonderful, but the food was subpar, though completely fresh, it didn't have as much flavor as I recalled! The restaurant was clean & maintained and there was a good amount of parking.

My experience was just ok. The food was average. I ordered the curly fries and they didn't take long, but I think the grease should have been changed. There is not much room for eating in.

I ordered a 6 piece wing hot with lemon pepper. The wings were huge and a little slimy on the inside. Do not go here for any wings they are named Philly connection for a reason.

Remains of a train wreck sandwich.

i went in for lunch today because the line was too long at the place I wanted to patronize. I should have been more patient. They state extra lean steak. Whatever the ground up, gristle laden grey meat was on the bun, it bore no resemblance to thinly sliced steak. The menu describes The Works as including mushrooms. I didn't see any and showed the three people at the register. The cashier looked at the sandwich for a while and pointed out one mushroom stem, but after a little discussion with the other two agreed to have the grill guy cook up some for me. The mushrooms are right out of a can, not fresh, with that canned, processed taste and mushy texture, instead of a grilled taste and appearance. The onions are supposed to be caramelized. No they are just grilled. It was supposed to include sweet peppers, not banana peppers. No surprise there - it had hot banana peppers. Totally ruined the sandwich. It takes a real effort to make that many errors on an order that had one sandwich and a fountain drink, but their grill guy was up (down, actually) to the challenge. If you are tempted to eat there, just resist it. Go just about anywhere else nearby and you will be doing yourself a favor.

The food was ok couldn't really enjoy it cause I had to pee and they did not let me use the rest room. They are price $10.35 for a 10" that was actually small. Wouldn't really recommend this place

Sooo good granted I did ask for extra extra cheese I was in and out within like 5min I can't complain I don't know what others are about

Be prepared for a LONG hold when calling orders in.

This location makes a decent sandwich but the service is lackluster. The cleanliness of the restaurant needs attention as well. I prefer to phone my orders in and I have no issue with being put on hold for a reasonable amount of time while they serve customers in person. However, today I was placed on hold for a very unreasonable 26 minutes. When the associate finally came back to the phone she offered very little in the way of an apology. Very poor customer service. This isn't the first time either. I need to find a new place in the Vinings area for a cheesesteak sandwich.

I was a bit skeptical about trying here as I figured it would be just like an American Deli's Cheese steaks or A Wings and Philly place. However, It was anything but that. I ordered 3 "Originals", 6 Hot Wings and Fries and a drink. It was all very good tasting. The lady and gentlemen that were working were very friendly and quick. The price was a little high, but I'm chalking that up to the rise in beef prices due to current situation. I most defiantly will comeback and get another cheesesteak here.

My friend and I split the 5 Borough Trapper Combo for $19.99 which comes with chopped cheese, 6 piece wings of your choice, and fries. The chopped cheese was pretty good. It was meaty and cheesy. I also liked the bun which was buttery. For the wings, we got the wet lemon pepper wings and those were so so good. I'm not usually a wings person, but these were delicious. I loved the buttery, peppery, and tangy flavor of the wings which were nicely fried and crispy. The meat was moist and succulent. Just wow. The fries were also good and standard and I liked dipping them in the ranch (you get a choice of ranch or blue cheese for your wings). I also loved the service. The girl helping me with my order was super friendly and engaging. Would highly recommend this spot and next time I'm in Atlanta, you best know I'm coming back for the lemon pepper wings!

'I'll do you one better,' he said. 'Say less,' I thought. Being that my buddy knows his way around food, drink and Atlanta (ITP and OTP), I knew I was in good hands. Turns out, we didn't have far to travel. As I was discovering, when in the Atlanta metro, it behooves you to eat as many wings as humanly possible. I'd already had my yearly physical so I was all in. Turns out that Clay's was a well-know, well-trod wings destination so I was psyched for the eating ahead of me. We set up shop on the patio and had a wonderfully delightful server wait on us. I didn't know what I was doing but my buddy did. I let him order and sat back and waited for the bounty. We caught up, laughed and did all the things and the food just kept coming. I knew I was in the right place. We got a basket of fries but made those bad boys Cajun. Do this. I used to live in New Orleans. The Cajun name is warranted. Fries should always be seasoned and/or have stuff on them. Always. Wanting to drink local, I helped myself to a Ginger Treehorn Cider. Served in a can, it had depth, generous bite and enough of a kick to know that the ginger was real and not just marketing. But the star of the show was the wings. A mix of drums and flats, these were not your grocery store chicken wings. These were meaty, larger than the average wing and as good as advertised. We ordered 20 for the two of us. Because he knows me, we maximized our sauces to get the best experience. We went to town on garlic parm, honey bbq, lemon pepper, and hot teriyaki. We.Tore.Them.Up! I had sauce on my fingers, face, hair, shirt, and other places and I.Did.Not.Care! Oh man. I don't usually indulge in wings because I'm afraid to be let down (I've been hurt too many times before). Not here. The night started mid (previous offsite) but ended in a food coma. How he drove me home, I do not know. Very happy to have experienced Clay's.

I had the cheesesteak while my friends had the wings and everyone's food came out quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. Another highlight is how well priced Clay's is and can really compete on price with lesser quality fast food places as my cheesesteak with fries was just $11. I think Clay's should definitely be considered as a great place to catch a game with some friends!

I've never had a bad experience here in person, the servers are friendly and prompt. I'll be honest and say I'm only ever here for lunch, so I don't know what the dinner rush is like. The lunch atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxed, with some sports excitement if a prime game is being played. The beer & cider list is rotating and extensive, they even usually have several varieties of mead available, which is pretty cool. The food is well-executed bar food that comes out nice and hot. The chicken tenders are some of the best I've ever had- the batter isn't too heavy, it's flavorful, has all the crunchy nooks and crannies you could want, and comes with their delicious house-made honey mustard. The fries are good but I always get the onion straws for my side, I'm a sucker for onion straws and these are perfectly breaded without being greasy. The mozzarella sticks are massive, a little tricky to maneuver but so worth it since they're made in house and not just your typical frozen bag kind. Another app I really enjoy is the mini corn dogs that also come with the yummy honey mustard. On my last visit I tried the jalapeño bacon cheese bites which were tasty. Salty, which is to be expected, with a combo of both cheddar and cream cheese that made for a nice gooey center. We arrived there exactly at 5 PM, when it opens, but there was already a pretty extensive line. A little outside the entrance, they check your ID, which I had no idea was a thing. So make sure you have your IDs with you and are 21+. There's a bar area for drinks and a separate counter where you will order and pay for your food. (They make it pretty explicit that you can't get wings to-go.) Find a seat, and once your food is ready, they'll announce your name, and you pick up your food from the window. FOOD: We got wings in the flavors of lemon pepper (dry rub), sun-dried tomato (dry rub), buffalo lemon pepper (wet), and jerk buffalo (wet). I will say that I definitely preferred the wet wings to the dry wings. I found the dry wings to be a little too salty. In my opinion, the wings and the cook on them were just okay. I wasn't blown away or anything. Maybe the relatively cheap beer and the vibes help draw in all the appeal. TLDR// I don't think I had the greatest wings of all time here, but the vibes were really casual and pleasant. I'm glad I was able to try a place so beloved by locals.
