Old gripe, cold day: A.) There hasn't been an "O'Connell" there in almost 20 years because B.) I'd…read moreknow since my 2013 new system was NEVER fully completed by these takeover dirtballs! Fully paid tho'!! I even met with "head dirt" - a true "talker" - but no action and the balance value was equal to the hassle/time/?? of small claims...ugh!! I'd say FAR worse except your kids might become growth stunted, but wish I had good local referral for you. Maybe solar!! Free electric heat!

My father was an O'Connell customer for over 50 years. A loyal customer. Immediately following my…read morefathers death O'Connell failed to deliver oil that was ordered to the property that was in probate and had yet to be resolved. This resulted in a pipe freeze doing tens of thousands of dollars of damage. Th issue was actually found before the pipes froze, and for 7 hours multiple calls were made to get an emergency delivery and restart that went unanswered until I was forced to leave the property at #:45 am in sub-zero temperatures. The next morning O'Connell's manager denied any order ever being placed and justified not responding by stating that my "dead father" was their customer not me or my brother and they were under no obligation to us. This company, especially the manager are the lowest and most despicable types of criminal scum. Do not trust them and I would advise switching to a reputable and trustworthy oil provider that won't screw you when they have the chance.

I had a radiator that was leaking water into the basement from a joint. I called Bill because of…read morehis positive reviews and he came over, disconnected it, seemed confused, went for a part, returned, and finally left, promising to return the next day. He left the radiator disconnected and even left one of his tools behind so I was sure he'd return. He never came back, and never called back, even after I called him several times and left polite messages over the course of the next week. I even let him off the hook, like "hey, no problem if you don't know how to fix this one, but can you tell me what you did so I can tell someone else?" No response. Ghosted me. Bill was a nice guy, and he did succeed in stopping the leak, in the sense that he disconnected the radiator. But I still have this problem unfixed and it's getting cold. I just had it looked at by someone from Richard's and they seemed baffled by how he left it. They said fixing it from how it is now will be "a project" - and said "he didn't leave you with much [pipe to reconnect]." This was not a good experience and I can't recommend Bill's services. I am disappointed since he had generally positive reviews and I didn't see this coming. (I will note, though, that someone else described a similar "ghosting" experience with him in one of the "not currently recommended" reviews. Wish I'd seen it before.)

I hate calling plumbers. My experience has generally been the kind of experience that some women…read morereport with mechanics: they come, the don't really fix the problem, they charge a huge amount, and later I discover that the problem had an easier fix. Which I guess in one way is good because it's forced me, as a new homeowner, to learn more about how the plumbing works. But I recently had a problem that required more knowledge and tools than I had at my disposal, and I was under a time crunch to fix the problem (truth be told, what plumbing issues don't we need solved in a hurry?) and I made the dreaded call. But this time I did the wise thing and put out a call for help on Facebook, and three people recommended Bill. As they should have. He came out on a snow day, the same morning I called, was quick, and charged a nominal fee. The neighborhood loves him, apparently. I'm sold.
