Evidently there was a cover charge to go in and see a band that was playing in the back. I have run bars, music venues for many years part of venturing onto my other occupation. Let me just throw my two cents out there... First off we were too young ladies trying to get a night cat before hitting the bed. It's not like there's a lot going on in Laurel Mississippi at 9:30 at night on a Saturday night. We went in and saw where the band was gonna be playing in a really nice outdoor seating area . The band had not started playing yet. We were just going to go take a quick look. Honestly, I'll be really wanted was a nightcap. Had I been running this facility? I would have put the covered charge desk at the other end of the bar where the exit to go to the outdoor seating area was. I think they're losing a lot of business from people who really don't have time or care to see the band. It makes sense to me. They have a great little bar that's not being utilized unless you're going to the outdoor seating area to watch the band. May want to rethink this O

I took a chance on a "Paul Deen" pizza with pimento cheese and bacon and it was pretty good. My wife had a burger that she thoroughly enjoyed. The flash-fried brussels sprouts appetizer was very good as well. Our server Adysin was super friendly and answered all of our out-of-towner questions. Everyone was welcoming and nice. This is history in the making as my first ever restaurant review was at an Alabama Jack's when I…read morewas a little kid. They had feedback cards in those days and my feedback review was that, "Jack's is the WORST restaurant I've EVER eaten at!" I got in an adventurous mood decided to see if this recently opened Jack's had improved since the MANY years since I had last eaten at the last one. So the exterior and interior looked significantly better than any of the Jack's I've seen in Alabama. I ordered the "Big Jack" burger and told them, "absolutely no ketchup as I HATE and DESPISE ketchup!" So I was in a hurry and grabbed my food and left. When I arrived at my destination and opened the burger to eat it I very quickly discovered that this Big Jack was DRENCHED in ketchup and they left off the lettuce, tomato and cheese! The meat looked absolutely horrible while the bun looked much improved than the past example I had seen years ago. I hoped at least I could eat some French fries to at least calm my hunger down but after trying two of them I found them disgusting as they didn't seem fully cooked. So Jack's was and is the WORST restaurant I've ever eaten at!

I immediately went to my manager to let her know and she bursted out in LAUGHTER saying "this happens all the time matter of fact there's been maggots, roaches, snakes, fruit flies, and etc. in this kitchen." She did absolutely nothing about it except remove them from the machine. To me this was a slap in the face cause I had family and friends coming to this EXPENSIVE restaurant to eat and drink. It's also policy that employees were completely prohibited from bringing outside food so if we wanted to eat we were MADE to buy food from there unless you snuck your own food in. People are also blowing vape and weed pen smoke all over your food because they didn't care. I used to be made fun of by employees for changing out the table cleaning solution frequently because "it's not that big of a deal no one cares." Also if you know someone that works at Applebees and yall are enemies THEY WILL MESS WITH YOUR FOOD. A group of employees laughed and gossiped about how someone they didn't like came in so they told the cooks to over season their food and spit in it. It's been months since I've quit and driving by seeing a full parking lot of people eating contaminated food makes me sick. I'm not trying to cause drama or make them go out of business but I am not going to allow my friends and family to spend over $60 on a nasty meal.
