The "Flyin' Hawaiian" double meat burger!

I travel all over the U.S. for work, so my excitement for the week is usually local places to eat. If you only eat in one spot in the area, make this it! The diner is a pretty small place and is somewhat limited in parking. At least the day I went at lunchtime, there was no parking(which is a good sign). Ordering was pretty painless, their menu is separated by colored papers and has descriptions of items. The staff was full of several young friendly ladies. Food wise, the menu looks solid from top to bottom. I went with the "flyin' Hawaiian" burger. What. A. Gem! I was starving, so I got the double meat. I could hardly pick up my burger as it was enormous and full of flavor! If your looking for a local joint you can tell your friends at home about, this is it! Home run!

Mexcellent burrito! Covered in heavenly goodness :):)

Hot Diggity Dawg I just lurrrvvvv this place. I was rollin back to Laurel from Hazlehurst, called my boss up and just begged him to let me stop and take my lunch hour at the Deli Diner. He gave me the green light and I mashed on the gas!! Came in sideways and extremely hot on two wheels, them company fords be rollin tho! Always heard that the mexcellent burrito was something you need to have in your life, well I finally got it in mine. They have about 5 options you can get in the burrito, I went with the philly cheesestake filling, i'll probably try the chicken next time, but I was ultimately super super impressed with my meal. It was delicious, and I hate the word delicious. As always this place knocks my socks off, if I didn't wear a belt it'd knock my pants off too!! 20 outta 5 stars, I'll be back again. And again. And again. And again!!!!

I got the gorillin' burger. It was amazing hands down. It was the best burger I've ever eaten. If you're in Collins you have to stop.

Stopped in at this McAlister's Deli while traveling through Magee last week, and overall it was a…read morepleasant pit stop. We chose to sit outside, and while the ambience and service were both nice, the patio area wasn't quite as clean as I'd hoped -- a few tables could've used some attention. Food-wise, we were happy with our choices. My husband and I shared the Memphian sandwich and a loaded baked potato, and both were satisfying and flavorful -- the kind of hearty, comforting meal that hits the spot after a long stretch of driving. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. With a little more attention to the outdoor seating area, this would be an easy go-to stop for future road trips through the area.

We got half veggie sandwich and half fire roasted veggie soup, half veggie sandwich and half veggie chili, kids pretzel dogs and 1/2 garden turkey with broccoli along with a side salad. They have really tasty salad dressing. I got the honey mustard and balsamic. Now you do have to pay .54 for an extra dressing. When you're cutting costs by including a good amount of iceberg lettuce in your salad I don't think you then need to charge for an extra dressing. Customer service was on par. They were very friendly and accommodating. I wanted to sample the soup before committing and they obliged without a problem. The fired roasted soup was probably my favorite. The veggie sandwich was really good. It needed something extra but not sure what. The veggie chili was tasty as well. McAlister's is a great option in this area where it's generally hard to find options other than the usual fast food.

I recently met a gentleman from Lil Butcher Shoppe at my local Rouses who was cooking up smoked…read moresausages and handing out samples. I tried several different flavors and my favorites were the pineapple and jalapeno. They are now making their sausages available here and I picked up some right away. Lil Butcher Shoppe is located at 1910 Broadway Dr in Hattiesburg, MS, and has been proudly serving the Pine Belt region since 1991. This family-owned and operated "olde-fashioned" butcher shop offers a wide variety of fresh, high-quality meats, local products, and excellent customer service. From its humble beginnings at Tip's gas station to its current thriving location, Lil Butcher Shoppe has become a beloved fixture in the community and now making their sausages products available in stores. Their history, brothers David Lawson and Steven Dyar founded Lil Butcher Shoppe over three decades ago, drawing inspiration from their family's history in the service industry. Prior to opening the butcher shop, David worked at Tip's, a gas station named after their mother, Christal "Tip" Lawson. The family managed the various locations from the years 1974-1990. David had worked in the family's gas station business his entire life, where he learned business management and customer service skills. After serving in the Navy, Steven Dyar began working at Carroll's Meat Shoppe, Patricia (Trish) Dyar's family butcher shop in Jacksonville, FL. This is where Steve learned the butcher trade and fell in love with Trish, whom he married. In 1990, the couple decided to move back to Mississippi. Lil Butcher Shoppe boasts a vast selection of fresh, hand-cut beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Customers can also request custom cuts to suit their preferences. In addition to high-quality meats, the shop offers a range of homemade items, such as: * Stuffed Potatoes (6 flavors) * Bratwursts * Boudin * Meatloaf * Smoked Chicken * Stuffed Porkchops * Stuffed Chicken * Gumbo * Mardi Gras Pasta Sauce * Casseroles * Stuffed Mushrooms & Peppers * Crawfish Pies The shop also stocks an assortment of cheeses, homemade jams, and various ready-to-bake dishes. With such a diverse array of offerings, Lil Butcher Shoppe truly caters to a wide range of tastes and culinary needs. I have already prepared a number of dishes for breakfast and dinner using several of these sausages and I'm a fan. The pineapple flavor is very good just grilled on a bun with a pineapple slaw and the jalapeno one is great with beans. I have more ideas and there's lots of ideas. Bottom line: Lil Butcher Shoppe has stood the test of time as a family-owned, community-oriented establishment in Hattiesburg, MS. Offering an extensive array of high-quality meats, homemade dishes, and local products, it remains a go-to destination for residents and visitors alike who appreciate quality and exceptional customer service. Solid 3.5 Stars…read more Located in Meridian, this restaurant serves decent sandwiches (cold n hot), soups, chili (no beans) and large potatoes. 4 Stars Service can be spotty, however during our visit, the staff were professional and efficient. We arrived for lunch on a Saturday and they had a steady flow of patrons at the tables and ordering. Though slightly understaff, they watch as a team from taking orders, providing your dreams, preparing the order and servicing it. And they came around to see if you anything else and pick up our empty plates. 3.5 Stars Ambiance is low key and chill. Tables and bathrooms were clean and the music wasn't loud. This establishment continues to honor a 10% military discount. I believe this discount also applies to law-enforcement and first responders. Just make sure you ask for it and you may have to show your ID. Food 3 Stars I ordered the Choose 2. You can choose a sandwich, potato, and a side dish. Such as chips, mac & cheese, chili, or other side dish. Some side dishes cost more. My order was a half of a Max Spud and a cup of chili. The spud comes with cheese, black olives, green onions, and some diced ham on it. The spud was a decent size for a half potato. Can't go wrong with a cup of chili - meat chili. Wifey ordered the New Yorker, which is a Reuben on rye bread and a bag of chips. It was good. Iff you'd like Neil she may want to order an extra one. So if you live in Meridian or close to town, this is a place to go to. If you're driving through on I 20 this is also a good place to make a pitstop. you'll enjoy the food.
