Stopped in at this McAlister's Deli while traveling through Magee last week, and overall it was a pleasant pit stop. We chose to sit outside, and while the ambience and service were both nice, the patio area wasn't quite as clean as I'd hoped -- a few tables could've used some attention. Food-wise, we were happy with our choices. My husband and I shared the Memphian sandwich and a loaded baked potato, and both were satisfying and flavorful -- the kind of hearty, comforting meal that hits the spot after a long stretch of driving. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. With a little more attention to the outdoor seating area, this would be an easy go-to stop for future road trips through the area. read more

Was very nervous to try this place based on Yelp reviews. It was fine. Was able to find good options. We got half veggie sandwich and half fire roasted veggie soup, half veggie sandwich and half veggie chili, kids pretzel dogs and 1/2 garden turkey with broccoli along with a side salad. They have really tasty salad dressing. I got the honey mustard and balsamic. Now you do have to pay .54 for an extra dressing. When you're cutting costs by including a good amount of iceberg lettuce in your salad I don't think you then need to charge for an extra dressing. Customer service was on par. They were very friendly and accommodating. I wanted to sample the soup before committing and they obliged without a problem. The fired roasted soup was probably my favorite. The veggie sandwich was really good. It needed something extra but not sure what. The veggie chili was tasty as well. McAlister's is a great option in this area where it's generally hard to find options other than the usual fast food. read more

Ordered my usual salad only to get old brown lettuce again. I asked for another with fresh lettuce and they brought it out on a very noticeable dirty plate with food stuck on it. This place needs to be shut down!! read more

EVERY SINGLE TIME I go here and im not exaggerating in the slightest. I order a 4 cheese melt and specifically put on my order that I want EXTRA tomatoes because the tomatoes are NEVER THERE. Driving through on our way to Gulf Shores. I really didn't want a chain, but it was a Sunday and not much else was open. When we walked in the line was to the door. It moved pretty quickly. The staff was bussing tables as soon as people left. We were able to find a table right away. Looking at the amount of people in there I could tell it would be a long ticket time, but to my surprise it was only 10 minutes. I had the Savannah Salad it consists of Sliced, grilled chicken breast, dried cranberries, Gorgonzola cheese, honey roasted almonds, with balsamic vinaigrette. If was fresh and a perfect accompaniment to a long car drive. I needed something light and fresh from all the sitting. My hubby and son had the Angus club which is Black Angus roast beef, applewood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, Swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, on sliced wheat bread. They both gobbled their sandwiches and I heard very little from them. So that tells me they were pleased. My youngest had the cheese pita pizza. It actually was a good sized pizza served with apple sauce and teddy Graham's. While were eating two associates were fussing at each other to run food out to customers. I don't think you would ever catch me at a deli or sandwich place, but ever since we travel often in our airstream for weeks at a time, a sandwich sounded pretty good that day. I ordered the mcalister's double stack sandwich with turkey, bacon and cheese. I always will add a side of soup and Mac and cheese. I think this is a great place to eat whether you are in a rush or want to dine in. The app is super convenient when you cannot walk inside because you have a dog companion traveling with you. Stopped at McAlisters in Magee, MS. This was the worst experience we have ever had at a McAlisters Deli. FOURTEEN tables were left with dirty dishes from previous customers and we had to ask for someone to clean a table for us to sit at! Both restrooms were filthy with trash cans over flowing with paper towels and toilets that looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in days. This is so uncharacteristic of the McAlister's Deli we have back home. Just awful. We waited more than 30 minutes for ONE sandwich and ONE salad. We finally gave up on getting our food after one one of the food prep people mimicked my wife when she inquired where our food was. After getting to the store manager we got a refund accompanied by excuses of his lazy staff... Referring to them as a "bunch of 4th graders". This was truly unbelievable. read more

We have been to this location several times And have always been disappointing. Last time we did curbside pickup and had to go back in there 3 times to get everything for our order. This time was exceptionally bad. First the employees were not properly wearing their masks. The girl taking our order stopped several times while fixing drinks to text on her phone. Also when our salads were brought out the bowls were dirty. Both mine and my husbands outside and the rims of the bowls were obviously not cleaned well at all. That's bad any time but especially during a pandemic. My sons club had mayo and avocado neither of which we ordered. All of the patio tables were dirty and had not need cleaned. If this was an isolated incident that's one thing but this location really needs an overhaul. read more

Felt like I showed up on opening day though, everyone was working at a pace I'd expect from a bunch a trainees :( also, there were no home alone themed items either so honestly I should've walked out then. Must've been some sort of copyright issue too, there's only one l in this place's name. What can you write about a chain "deli"/sandwich shop that serves bland food at ridiculous prices? Well, how about that they always seem to be out of whatever you happen to be ordering? Or maybe the fact that while the service staff is friendly and pleasant, they seem far more interested in striking up a conversation than in taking your order or bringing your food? Or the fact that as low-volume as this particular location is, they're never as clean as they should be, despite there always being at least two employees just hanging out behind the counter looking bored? How about picking up a broom and rag once in a while? Tip for diners: don't order the sweet tea if it's after the lunch rush. It'll probably be sour. read more

This place is a disgrace. This is by far the worse McAlister's I've ever been too . The food is THROWN together . The order is never correct. There is no point in selecting "pickle spear" on the app if they NEVER put it in there . My to go order is always covered in someone else's junk. It's just terrible and it is really sad that no one has been held accountable for the way this place has been poorly ran . I'm from Magee, Mississippi and I eat at my McAlister's four to five times a week. Needless to say, I love it. Most of the employees know me by name, and the majority of them have my phone number memorized so they can quickly access my deli club. They all know that I like my tea half cut, and on the days I come in frazzled, the tea is on the counter waiting for me before I get there. I'm very excited to see what the new manager has in store. I understand it's a priority of his to be connected with the community and to have a positive impact on the town of Magee and its citizenry. read more

Worst service ever!! Hostess beyond rude! Asked for napkins and was ignored, order was wrong! When asked for my topping which was missing they brought frozen onions out! Worst customer service I've ever seen in ANY restaurant including fast food. McDonalds even has a better performance than this McAlisters. First things first, after the customer in front of us asked for a cookie, the employees starting bad mouthing him right in front of his face. Then I had ordered a chicken sandwich that had paper inside of it that I nearly choked on. Then our salad was wrong. When we asked it to be corrected, the manager (who by the way, was a teenager) then started making the salad while using fowl language about us behind the counter. Not only that but the manager did not have her hair up while in the kitchen making food. As for the chicken sandwich, they asked if there was anything they could do. Well.... you could make a sandwich that doesn't have paper in it. The child (the manager) didn't even give me a refund. My husband and I were on our way back this afternoon from the coast traveling back home to Tennessee, and we stopped in to get lunch to go. We were met with a pleasant and helpful cashier, but had to wait 20 minutes just to get 2 sandwiches, 2 sides, & 2 drinks. We left and opened my sandwich box to find the smallest sandwich ever! Although our stop here greatly hampered our quick trip home, it was made even longer because we went back to get another sandwich that was actually worth the $8. I went in and talked very nicely with the manager, who handled it very graciously and professionally (and thanked me for being nice about it), and left it to her young workers to make the sandwich again. The one proceeded to yell out, loud enough for me to hear, how she is having to make it again& blah blah blah. Rude. Not to mention that some of the workers didn't have their masks on properly and they were making the food!! So, believe me, we will not ever stop again at the Magee, MS location. AND, we will give McAlisters another chance elsewhere! read more

Lots to say about this place. Love mcalisters back home in St. Louis but this particular location was filthy. Bathrooms had no soap or paper towels and the floor was covered in toilet paper. The actual eating area had trash everywhere. One customer brought her own disinfecting spray to wipe down her table. She must've been here before. In addition the service was so disorganized that when we went to cancel our order after seeing people complaining about waiting 40 minutes for their food and every single table sitting with a number they couldn't even find it. We talked to about 5 different people just to cancel and no one seemed to have a clue. I honestly felt bad for the employees because it was apparent there was a lack of management or training that made their service so atrocious. Avoid at all costs. read more
