This was another spot in Laurel that many recommended we try, and I'm sorry we did. The customer service was subpar with staff not being courteous to customers. Wait was very long and unfortunately it wasn't worth it. Burgers were extremely greasy and the portion size for fries and sodas were ridiculously small. McDonalds would be a better alternative unfortunately. read more

The drive-in was crowded the day we went there. It was recommended by our friends here as one of the best hamburgers in town. It took about 45 minutes for the food to arrive as there was a lot of people there. Personally I do not see the magic here. The quality of the hamburger was just so-so. Nothing special. The milkshakes were also just very average. Perhaps it was just a bad day for them. I will give it another shot in the future. read more

This is a cool old school drive in (but is really a walk up window) with nice burgers, shakes and malts. They have done a renovation and look more shiny and new but I kind of miss their old grungy dive look. This is definitely a far better choice than any of the fast food locations and probably the best milkshake in town and maybe in all of Mississippi. read more

Stopped while passing thru from Mississippi Gulf to Tennessee. Wonderful little place. Has outside seating only and most is covered. Burgers were old fashioned hand patted amazing! Perfect small krinkle cut fries were seriously good. Prices were the only thing better than the food! Wish I could have fit in some ice cream!!! read more

Waited forever to get cold food that's absolutely unacceptable. I'm about to go get my money back

Fast walk yo service and great old fashioned taste of the hamburger, fries and milkshake. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

I've gone to PDI all my life and it is one of those spots you always want to go to when home. Great burgers and shakes. If you need a great spot to eat while passing through and want to skip the chain spots, try PDI. If you love milkshakes, get the ones here. They literally would stand up if you turned it over. read more

They have some solid burgers, fries, and shakes. The cheeseburger was pretty good. They only offer American cheese, but it still wasn't a bad tasting burger. It certainly was not the best ever, but it definitely was far from the worst. The chili cheese fries were so dang good. There was an abundance of fries, chili, and cheese. Their onion rings were tasty, too. I tried a small strawberry shake. So delicious. It was my favorite item I tried. It does take a while for them to get your food ready, but this is because they make every order as it comes. I personally like that because I prefer piping hot food anyway. They have outdoor seating. At one point the rain started pouring down, but the covered outdoor area kept us dry so that we could still enjoy our food. read more

A good quick stop for a burger and milkshake. Loved the outdoor seating. The area can get a little crowded and the wait (30min) was well worth it. read more

Always good food, love this place ! Close to Hellfighters! Too long of lines sometimes . People are nice. Good location

I was born in the 50s. This takes me back there. Good service at the window. Good timing in having your food ready. Fantastic choices in how you can have a burger, hot dog, steak sandwich, chocolate malt, and crunchy crunchy ice in your cup of great tea. I could eat there every day. Just wish they would open early and do bacon egg and cheese tacos or sandwiches or biscuits. High quality food. Always hot enough so that you have to wait a minute. That is so much better than most other places. I don't think they even own a microwave. It would be a surprise, cause everything is fresh. read more

This place is a local favorite and stays packed. We called in our order so there was not a long wait once we arrived. These burgers are very good. I have thought about going back since I ate mine. We thought the onion rings were good, but the crinkle-cut fries were just okay. I am ready to try the steak sandwich and maybe a malt. Now, there is no inside place to eat, only a covered area with fans. We picked ours up and ate back at our overnight house. Eating outside in August is not my thing. They take credit cards and it appears to be a family-owned business. read more

Got the Hellfighter Burger and it was pretty darn tasty. Parking limited around the restaurant but there is plenty across the street.

Family favorite for years! Best onion rings in town. Can not go without indulging in a chocolate malt! This place has been around forever for a reason!! read more

Just about one of the best hamburger you'll ever find. Reminds me of how hamburgers tasted like back in the early 60's went I was really young. read more

what happened to this place? it was once decent, now it is simply AWFUL. you wait in line 45+ minutes to get a bag of grease (look at the tots, they are red bricks, change the frying oil much, if ever, kids?) and a COLD burger. seems cold burgers are all they know how to cook. instead of changing the hours, they should change their employees and cooking habits. nothing but high school kids who could care less about the quality. again, what happened to this place? besides your money, dont waste your TIME on this backdoor establishment, go to McDonalds instead, you wont regret it. read more

Phillips Drive-In - Burgers Near Me - Laurel, Mississippi

Stopped by here on our drive from Virginia to Texas....thanks to Yelpers!! Wonderful drive-in burgers just like they're supposed to be!!! Loved, loved, loved it! Picnic tables available and service was excellent too. read more

First off the drive through moves slow , because everything is cooked to order . You can park , and order at the front window , and wait at the picnic tables. They have fans under the canopy at the tables to help with the heat in the summer time. I've been waiting for about 15 mins , and the locals keep this place wrapped up. Everyone I have talked to here says PDI is the best in town. Update order placed at 12:58 got my order at 1:37 . The burger was pretty good . I should have got the jumbo , the regular is a little small . I could have ate 2 with no problem. The chocolate malt was great , so thick it'll give you a workout . read more

Phillips Drive-In - Burgers Near Me - Laurel, Mississippi

My husband and I ordered this on our way up to Alabama from New Orleans. We ordered ahead because we had read the reviews on yelp and we're trying to make sure not to have to wait too long. They told us it would take 15 minutes. Instead, it took almost 40. Be prepared to wait. They messed up several people's orders ahead of us as well. The crinkle fries were lackluster, the tots were definitely better. The burger was really pretty good. read more

We were visiting family from out of town and checked this place out before heading back north. It's on old 50's drive-in with a great atmosphere. We had a vanilla malt, pineapple shake, and a corn dog. It is definitely worth the wait. We enjoyed this place and hope to stop by again when visiting Laurel. read more

The hamburgers were amazing! Made to order so it takes a while, but oh so worth it! You can tell there burgers are made from scratch & not a lot of fillers (if any). There were four in our group and everyone loved this place! read more

We probably wouldn't have known about this local legend but it's great! We were told by a lady at a shop that it was a great place for a milkshake. We had lunch and toured the bike shop next door. Very fun! read more

Best burger ever! They have many variations, mustard or mayo, tomato or no tomato, chili, or cheese...something to please everyone. Great sides: fries, fried okra, onion rings, corn nuggets and more. Old fashioned flavored sodas and milkshakes in many flavors. read more

This food was horrible. First time eating here . Fries were soggy. Hot dog bun was super hard. Called back to tell them about the food and they said if I had the receipt I could get my money back. Oh yea drinks were the size of a kids meal. The worse 12 dollars spent ever. NEVER AGAIN read more

Old and historic and the food is decent, but it's too close to hellsfighter to enjoy anything about it. That place is trash.

I don't like them AT ALL. The lines go all around the block and they take too long to give you your food if I were them I would just go out of business. read more

Great burger. Also had BLT. Sweet pot fries. Ice cream.

Best burgers in town . I can remember when he would load us all up to get a PDI hamburgers. Very good then and now.

Went to Phillips based on previous reviews. Very disappointed. The burgers are small. Didn't realize they had no lettuce or tomatoes. Our fault... The bottom bun of my husband's burger was HARD. The onion rings tasted like they were fried in old grease. Won't be back. read more

Very very slow. Waited over 30 min for a hamburger and fries. The frustrating thing is watching people order after and get their food before you. Food was ok but order was wrong. If you choose to give it a try call in your oder so you don't have to wait so long. read more

Returned again, same as last time. Same smart acting people behind the counter and slow service.

Old school burgers, shakes and all the sides you would expect. Cherry cokes, corn dogs, corn fritters and Philly cheesesteaks are on the menu too. But don't leave without getting a chili cheeseburger. A Laurel institution! read more

A great local place in Laurel and I can see why they've been in business so long. A must try place if in town. The food is like the old days. I ordered a cheeseburger and some ice cream. Definitely highly recommend eating here. read more

Great burgers at a cheap price. We ordered burgers they were amazing. My son loved the hot dog.

Checked online to see Saturday hours which is until 10 PM so I showed up at the drive-through window about a quarter till 10 and could see several employees that all ignored me for about five minutes and never came to the window, so I pulled around and parked in the front and after the lady in front of me paid and received her food I stepped up and began to order only to be told that they no longer serve anything but drinks. .... Got in my car went to Burger King drive thru and walked back in my front door at 10:01 PM read more

Best burgers in town! Whenever I crave a messy burger, this is where I go! I always get a combo and my husband gets the Hellfighter. They have awesome homemade onion rings and we love the corn nuggets! Staff is always friendly and this place is always busy! It's best to call ahead so you don't have to wait. If not, wait time is usually no longer than 15 mins! They have picnic tables outside but we always take ours home to eat. EVERYTHING is made fresh to order!
