Every doctor I was assigned to either wasn't accepting new patients, was impossible to get an appointment with, was leaving the practice, or I just couldn't get ahold of anyone. I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant and recently moved here from Michigan, so I really needed to get established with a doctor and get a referral to an OBGYN. I hadn't been able to see anyone in months and was getting pretty stressed about it. Atiga got me in quickly, and when I went in for my appointment I barely had to wait at all. Staff at the front desk was so nice, and the doctor was incredibly kind and patient with me. She knew I needed to get into an OB as soon as possible and got the referral going right away. The first OBGYN they referred me to ended up not accepting me because I'm considered high risk and they would only take a referral from another OBGYN. I called Atiga back and explained what happened, and they immediately started working on getting me another referral. There was no runaround or feeling like I had to keep calling and bothering someone just to get help. Even the woman I spoke with who handles referrals was so nice and helpful. Honestly, every person I've dealt with there has been great. After having such a hard time finding a doctor since moving back here from Michigan, it's such a relief to finally find an office where people are kind, responsive, and actually seem to care about helping you. I'm really glad I found them.

For years, I was always seen by nurse practitioners rather than an actual doctor. The main reason I stayed was simply because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of finding a new primary care office. That changed when Dr. Feeney joined the practice. He is wonderful! His bedside manner is excellent, he's attentive, he actually listens, and I never feel rushed or dismissed during my appointments. I have nothing but positive things to say about him and the care he provides. Unfortunately, the office itself is a completely different story. It wasn't great to begin with, but lately it has become incredibly frustrating just trying to make an appointment. No one seems to answer the phone anymore. You have to leave a message and wait for someone to call you back just to schedule. If you happen to miss their return call, you have to call again, leave ANOTHER message explaining that someone called you back and you missed it, and then wait for another return call. It turns into an unnecessary game of phone tag just to schedule an appointment. For a medical office, being able to reach someone and schedule care should not be this difficult. After being a patient for more than 10 years, it's disappointing to see the office become even harder to communicate with. Dr. Feeney is honestly the bright spot here and the main reason I continue coming, but the communication and scheduling process desperately needs improvement! I'd hate to leave Dr. Feeney but it may be time to find a new doctors office.

We are very much in agreement with that form of medicine (Blue Zones), which looks for cause, rather than throwing a pharmaceutical at the symptom, and looks for natural ways and supplementation to heal the body! The Athena Health website has been great for asking and receiving timely answers to questions I've had. The onsite lab has also been extremely helpful. Only one thing that others have mentioned in their reviews is that online questionnaires were not logged and once at the appointment, we were asked to redo it, which was bothersome. I guess I'm used to doctors offices in that regard, and expect something of a wait when I arrive, although sometimes I am pleasantly surprised to be seen right away. All of that aside, I just wanted to put in a good word for Dr. Nguyen. I've been seen at his office twice now, once for a sudden onset of numbness in my right thigh, which ended up being taken care of by a specialist, and a physical examination I had done last year. In both appointments, Dr. Nguyen was very cool, calm and professional. I never felt hurried through any stage, and felt that his concern for my concerns was indeed genuine. The office and waiting area were very clean, and the reception staff and physician's assistant were both friendly in the brief interactions I had with them. Better still, and this is purely circumstantial, but the office is within easy walking distance of my house over in Old Town Murrieta. Overall, I have been very satisfied with my experiences at this office, and I think it is a good match for anyone looking for a good GP, either for ongoing personal care, or a place to take the family, other than urgent care or any of the other Doc-In-The-Box places around town.
