I used the Yelp project search and had more than 7 responding companies in a matter of minutes. After receiving quotes, I selected Phend Plumbing as they were the only ones who noticed on the photo I included that the water heater was more than likely still under warranty. I paid the labor and parts part of this installation which included them exchanging the unit to Home Depot, new lines and drip pan. The labor price was comparable to any others who offered the installation only part. The installer, Jordan ( I hope I got his name right) was amazing and incredibly professional and knowledgeable. I previously had a great experience with Phend repairing my water main so I hired them again when we had a leaky sink last Sept (2020). When Aaron told me he was going to replace both angle stops I said "But it's leaking from the top of these pipes at the bottom of the sink basin. How would that help?". He assured me he was correct, went out to get the parts, and made the repair. The sink didn't seem to be leaking so I assumed the plumber was right and I, the non-plumber, was wrong. Seemed reasonable. That's why we hire help. Well... today (Oct 2021) we realized the sink was leaking (again? still? we don't use that one too often). Turns out I was right and he just shoved a bunch of putty around a cracked part instead of replacing it. And also charged me $225 to replace the angle stops that didn't need to be replaced. Maybe he was too embarrassed to admit he was wrong and go out again to buy the correct part? I'm not sure. But I am certainly not pleased with his work. read more

I was referred to Phend by my usual plumbing company when I needed service quickly on a Friday and they didn't have availability until Monday. I appreciated their understanding and the referral. I called and explained I had a pipe with a pin-sized hole that was shooting water out and to stop it I had my whole water line shut off. The woman who answered said she would see if they had anyone available right away and asked to call me back. In 5 minutes she was back to me with someone available within 2 hours! I asked that they call when about 30 min away since I was at work. Pete called me saying he was running early but still giving about 40 min for me to get home. The timing worked perfectly. He assessed the situation and gave me quotes on a couple options. Plumbing is NEVER inexpensive but based on past work I've had done felt his estimate was reasonable. And did I mention there was no service call fee? Had I said no he wouldn't have made a dime! Of course I accepted. He was in and out in 30 minutes. Took photos of the work and included it on the invoice along with his warranty. Overall Pete was great to work with. Super polite and knowledgeable. We needed to relocate a gas mainline and meter to allow for us to build a pool in our yard. This project required work to be completed by both SW Gas (Responsible for the mainline running through our back yard and the meter) and a plumber who could re-plumb our interior gas line to hook up to the new meter location. This was no simple task. Coordinating between SW Gas, their third-party contractor, our plumber, and the City of Tempe for permits and inspections seemed like a recipe for a construction nightmare. He was always punctual, very professional, and passionate about his work. Because of the complexity of the job, I ended up contacting the office a few dozen times.
