I thought I punctured a supply line in the wall, while installing curtain rod brackets for my daughter. It sounded like paper crumpling, a hiss and a dripping sound inside the wall. -Tech Anthony checked the wall with a Stethoscope, a Moisture Meter and finally backed the screw out of the wall. -Looked like I hit a metal stud or a Nail Plate. --Whew. Didn't want to waste the trip, so I had Tech Anthony install a Water Supply Spigot in the Garage. -A little more than the Diagnostic Trip Charge, but well worth the years of suspense, sleepless nights and therapy - wondering if I had punctured a water supply line, and no one could find it without opening up the wall. I contacted several plumbers through the Yelp app, and Flush King Plumbing was the only company available to provide an estimate on the same day as my request. They maintained communication regarding the plumber's arrival time. Upon the plumber's arrival, we discovered that the water would need to be shut off, which would also affect several other condominiums. I now understand the necessity of installing shut-off valves at all locations within the condominium to avoid seeking permission from the HOA to turn off the water. This will need to be addressed upon my return to Arizona. I am grateful that the plumber was able to come on the same day, but I am somewhat disappointed that he mentioned he would adjust the anti-scalding feature when all the valves are installed, rather than addressing it during this visit. read more

Quoted $650-$700 for a service on a water heater that is still under warranty. Definitely overpriced and would've been reimbursed by manufacture. However they were very responsive. read more

I was told that I had a cast iron sewer pipe collapse, and the suggested repair was $45,000+ to replace all sewer lines. I was told I would not be able to see it on a video scope because of black water. Another plumber cleared the blockage with a 100 ft. drain cleaner. This was the first step in a $6k trenchless repair. For what it's worth, the lead plumber that came out also said it was a partial collapse. I understand that cast iron pipes towards the end of their lifetime may need to be replaced eventually. Also that the trenchless epoxy method might be considered by some to be a "band-aid." That said, I appreciate when I am given options, which might include an attempt to clear the blockage first. read more
