The staff is quick and friendly. The food is very delicious and resturant is clean. They make the best deluxe chicken sandwich I've had! Go once and you'll become a regular!

This place doesn't miss. They've turned into the breakfast date spot for lil one & I. She gets excited every time we park outside & starts ranting about how nice everyone is and how cool the Coca Cola clock is. The service is always on point, you're treated like a family member visiting town. The food is made like your grandparents are excited that you're spending the morning with them. Everything is cozy & warm. Definitely a gem in the Antelope Valley

This is a true hidden gem here in my backyard of Lancaster!! Amazing food amazing flavors had the biscuits and gravy it hit the spot with flavors!!!.. also had the strawberry filled waffles omg that was a lot and deliciousness definitely a must come for items!! You don't just stumble into a place like Phebie's Cafe, you find it, like a sun-bleached secret halfway between nowhere and a dream. Surrounded by the brutal beauty of the desert, endless, stubborn and alive there it is. A real-deal, no-bullshit hole-in-the-wall with a sun-warped sign and taped-up bench seats that have seen more stories than most novels. Inside, it's a mix of everybody: dusty ranchers, road-weary locals, a couple of hungover kids who took a wrong turn somewhere, people of all walks of life. Veteran-owned, the kind of place where the people behind the counter have lived a little harder and earned every wrinkle and scar, they bring that same grit to every plate they serve. The menu? Breakfast only. Because why mess with what you know? Plates piled high with biscuits drowned in real sausage gravy, eggs so fresh you wonder if the chicken is out back and the chili o the chili, to die for!!!Homemade recipes that taste like they were passed down from some grandmother who wasn't afraid of butter or salt -- and thank god for that. You sit, you eat, you listen. You realize that Phebie's isn't trying to impress you. It's trying to feed you. It's trying to remind you what it feels like to be human in a world that's moving way too fast. And if you're lucky, maybe you'll leave a little more real than when you came in.

Such LARGE portions and everything was delicious! The ladies were amazing with service! They definitely have their regulars that go there, which I thought was so nice, you know it's good if there are quite a few regulars!

I went to Phebies Cafe for a quick meal. The atmosphere was pleasant but busy. The waitresses were running around getting food out and serving customers. I ordered the French Dip with BBQ sauce and fries. The Fries tasted as if they were cooked sat out then re-cooked. Which i never had an issue before. I explained my concern to Sue the Waitress who is awesome and she informed the cook/owner. The Cook/owner came over to my table and tried to minimize my complaint saying she cooked the food and it was fine. I informed her That I never had a complaint about the fries but today I did. The cook/owner refused to take responsibility for the complaint and did not want to take ownership of the problem, and instead dismissed my complaint as unimportant saying the fries are frozen then cooked. I am a regular customer here, but because of the cook/owners attitude towards my concern is will not be back. I wasn't looking for a refund or replacement just addressing my complaint about the stale fries. The owner or cook whoever she is needs a course in customer service and learn how to address complaints or issues when they arise.

The Cinnamon Roll that you should just get because it's awesome.

Homemade Cinnamon Rolls!!!! Get one! Found this place for somewhere to eat as I was working in the area. The menu has everything a good diner should have and the food is great. My friends and I loved our meals. (see pictures) The staff is friendly and welcoming with fast service. We even met THE Phebie. lol The restaurant itself looks and feels like your local diner.

I stopped here today after my sister had told me she was eating breakfast here. I was only going to say hi but I decided to grab a bite to eat and let me tell you, it was so delicious. The waitress was super nice and super kind. She brought my drink out and took my order in a timely manner. I ordered the French toast combo and it was one of the best French toast I've ever had. It was so good the plate was clean at the end. The interior is super cute and plenty of dining space. I will definitely be back soon and may become a frequent visitor.

We moved here almost 2 years ago and I have passed this place many times not thinking much until we heard how good it was and decided to stop in. The outside does not do it justice. Hours are only 6am to 2pm but the food is breakfast lunch and dinner served all day. The breakfast is amazing. We've only been twice but I know we have found a new regular spot. The pancakes are seriously amazing, the french toast also. The country potatoes are to die for. So fresh. The big country omelette is so good. The portions are big. The service is great. They make you feel like family. They are warm and welcoming even when its busy. The biscuits and gravy...oh man. My kids are very picky but clean their plates when we eat here which I've never seen them do. Please don't pass this place up! Give them a try and see for yourself. read more

I've been to Phebie's once! Once to be honest, and it left a lasting impression on me. For dinner, I had the Phebie's meatloaf and it was fantastic! I had a brief chat with the owner which surprisingly is of Honduran decent and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu. To be a straight shooter...a Hispanic woman that makes great American derived food!! Highly recommended will go back again :) read more

Used to be regulars here but the service has gotten bad and the prices seem to increase each time. Coffee should be free not $2+ our last visit the breakfast all tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill. When we told our server she said, I told them the food tastes bad and to clean the grill. Didn't apologize to us or offer a discount for our next visit,, just walked away. An apology or a discount would have been nice and we'd return as customers, but our business didn't seem to matter to them so unfortunately we'll be taking our business and hard earned money elsewhere. Its a real shame because we used to enjoy going there read more

Wasn't too busy, great service, waitress was very helpful always made sure the drinks were full. The portions are plentiful and price are affordable. Upon a recommendation from a friend we tried this place out. It had a good old school or truck stop diner feel. The food was great but the coffee was s bit watered down. The pancakes taste like my grandma's pancakes made from scratch. I recommend this place. read more

I've been to Phebie's at least 10 times, and, I have yet to have a bad experience. I must admit, I have only been for breakfast, and only ordered breakfast, so I cannot provide a fair assessment of any menu items other than breakfast. Between the family, we've ordered just about everything on the breakfast menu and have not had to return any item to the kitchen - the restaurant and staff have met expectations. At times, when family come to visit, we've shown up with 10 people and the staff was extremely accommodating. My opinion is Phebie's is a breakfast treasure - we typically arrive to eat early in the morning (on weekends) to avoid the crowd and potential wait (there are about 15 tables with some extra seating at the bar - fills quick). read more

I have visited about a dozen times and only once had issues with food quality. They took care of it. The potions are good, service is friendly. Order ahead if you are in a hurry. I enjoy this cafe. Patty melts, tuna melts and eggs benedict are my favorites. read more

Great food but bad service! Mom was visiting and wanted some good breakfast. Took her to Phebie's hoping this time the older heavy set lady would be a bit nicer. I asked for a second set of utensils and she gave me a dirty look and slammed the utensils on the table. Clearly my parents noticed. When we left they said "the foods good but that lady needs to retire" Gave her a good tip and that's my last visit there. Sucks read more

Food was pretty good the only thing is that my home fries had a slight rancid taste and there were "floaties" in the water... the service was fine and all the other food was good... But due to these things I probably won't be eating here again. read more

I've been to phebie's cafe multiple times now and have had nothing but good experiences, so I don't understand why there's some bad reviews on here about this place... My food and my service has been great even when the place was busy. I'd say the best thing I've ordered off of the dinner menu is the fettucini alfredo! I have food sensitivities and they were very accommodating with my gluten and dairy intolerances. I had the Denver omelet minus the dairy and the potatoes. All was def. homemade and delicious. Kept my coffee full at all times! read more

This is a great place with a number of interesting menu items that shows it's not just another bland run of the mill AV breakfast/lunch place. I had the Mexican Skillet. It was really good. I like going to restaurants. Most have tasteless salsa, even Mexican places. This salsa was spicy with a delicious amount of cilantro. The food had real flavors. I immediately texted my wife that I found our new breakfast place. The other reviewers must really be out lunch. This place is a jewel. read more

Was a little worried about the reviews, but after my experience I can safely say most of these negative reviews had no idea what they're talking about. First time I went there I had the smoked ham and eggs, and I was hooked the moment I took the first bite. To say the service and food quality is fantastic would be an understatement. I honestly didn't expect this humble eatery to outperform many of its competitors but it just goes to show that looks can definitely be deceiving. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a hearty breakfast with great customer service. read more

Very generous portions. Love the fact that you can have pancakes instead of toast with your meal. KC is a fun waitress, and remembers what you like to eat. I'm gluten free and not had any problems with what I've had. Hubby and I share a breakfast, hence the pancakes vs toast and order 2 extra eggs. There's never been an extra plate charge. read more

I have been a customer of Karen's kitchen and returned under the new owners and it has been a drastic change IN THE FOOD.. It's delicious and you can taste the freshness. I have had a good experience with the servers from the week and weekend. And all honesty if I attended le cordon blue I would brag about it too I spent all that money so why not?!? Business is business so what ever is keeping them going is good for me. Go in with an open mind and stop complaining read more

long time customer of karens kitchen and now phebie's cafe has my business... i have really enjoyed the lunch specials when chef martha cooks up recipes with that touch of le cordon bleu! expect good old traditional breakfasts and lunch folks until they start opening for dinner as i have it on good authority this will be happening soon at which time chef martha will release her le cordon bleu on us! i can't wait! yum, yum, yum! read more

I have only been there once for breakfast with a friend My chicken fried steak was very good. The home fries with onion were perfect My friend had corn beef hash and eggs nothing special but not bad. They offer a variety of eight breads to choose from I went with whole wheat bread. Step two is picking your cheese and they have a variety of 16 cheeses to pick from I chose pepper jack. Step three is the condiments. I went with all and if there's anything you don't want, you can subtract it. The turkey sandwich I ordered was OK. They were very generous with the turkey. It came with all the vegetables and fixings, but I couldn't figure out what was giving it a salty taste. Should've went with a different selection of bread as the wheat bread was very, very dry and crumbly. Paired my turkey sandwich with jalapeño chips and a Coke.

While sharing a giant turkey and provolone sandwich with my daughter I noticed something shiny in…read moremy sandwich. After looking I realized it was plastic, like a surrand wrap, all around the edge of every turkey slice and on large piece on the entire side of a slice that looked like an end piece. Unfortunately, I swallowed some of the plastic wrap and so did my daughter unknowingly. I tried to call the location and it did not ring but there was a message "mailbox has not been set up" it was 8:45pm so I decided to drive all the way back and got there at 8:55pm. When I walked in I asked to see a manager or supervisor the gentleman said he was one of them. I told him I am upset because there is plastic all over the turkey in the sandwich I had just purchased. I then took out pieces of the half eaten sandwich to show him and he said "oh, I know exactly what that is, it's the plastic around it your sandwich wasn't prepped correctly, that's really bad I'm sorry I can give you a refund for it." As he is giving me the refund he asked if the other sandwich I purchased was ok, I told him that I have no idea because my son ate it quickly and there wasn't turkey so hopefully his meat didn't have plastic on it. He then did the refund and a coworker then said "you can just give her a full refund, I'm sorry you had to come back. Would you want your name down in our book to come in the future for a remake of the sandwich." I told her no shocked everyone is so "calm" about the error that they made because they were the ones making my sandwich. I'm also shocked that no one offered to remake my sandwich right then and there EVEN if it was closing time. The whole "oh man, that's too bad" response and attitude is mind blowing to me. It's not like my complaint is having mayo on my sandwich when I only wanted mustard...my complaint is that there was plastic all over my food, that I ate. It was an error that shouldn't have been made.

The fried plantain with pulled pork was a nice mix of sweet and savory, and the side mango was refreshing. The vanilla flan was just the right amount of sweetness.... creamier than traditional Mexican flan. Great experience here. Will definitely visit again!!!

Love this place BUT I only come on specific times and dates. it is a Family owned restaurant with a nice ambiance. I notice the difference in the food taste and quality from the weekdays and the weekend (which is why i go on the weekdays) The california omelet is tasty the amount of potatoes is a nice reasonable amount. A nice size ham steak and eggs. The owner switched up the Biscuit and Gravy recipe which is much better and tasty. This past sunday the spouse and I decided to take my father and son (who is also a dad) to Phebies for Father's day. The place was jam packed!! but we got a friendly smily curly haired waitress who made a couple jokes with us and sat us down she took our order quick and disappeared. She shows up minutes later to apologize about deserting us and for the food taking too long she stated that the other cook left and she had gotten "pulled off the floor" to help the cook out to ensure we got our food in time and with the quality it deserved. My father and husband appreciated that in her as did I. That showed me that it was a true family owned place and it made up for how their service is. The young girls that work their are nice and attentive ( I believe they are sisters) the other young girl the red head, well not so much we really try not to sit in her section especially since she is often seen on her phone or sitting down talking to gentlemen as the other girls work. The food like i said is good if you go on the right day and the service is good also if you go on the right day with the right server. The dinner menu is also pretty good just a tad bit expensive for a place like that. read more

I have visited Phebie's cafe plenty of times and I've enjoyed each and every one of my experiences there. I love that the cafe is family owned and the waitresses take care of you well. I've only gotten the chance to eat breakfast and I must say it's delicious their country omelette is usually what I like ordering. They did have a dinner menu before when they first opened, I saw it and the food they had on there sounded so appealing. I never got the chance to go in for dinner, but sadly they closed for dinner but I talked to one of the waitresses and she told me they were opening up for dinner soon. I'll be going there to try it. I recommend it, it's a friendly environment. It's Good breakfast. read more

Was searching for a good place to have breakfast before getting on the road for over a 1,900 mile road trip. Found good reviews about Phebies and decided to check it out. I was in a party of four. We were pleasantly greeted by Amy, a great hostess. She was very attentive throughout our visit. The food was amazing! It was so much food for a reasonable price. I had the meat lovers omelette which came with a side of pancakes and home fries. I have to honestly say that this was the best down home breakfast I have ever had on the road, and I travel a lot. If you are ever in Lancaster California, you have to go check out Phebies and ask for Amy!!! read more

I went in because of the Cordon Bleu claim. I saw nothing that reflected that. Saying you are Cordon Bleu-trained sets up high expectations. My food, also was cold. The waitresses spent most of their time in the back somewhere talking to each other. The menu was lacklustre and not very vegetarian-friendly. Most places at least have a Gardenburger - not that that is Cordon Bleu! I think the owner would have better luck without the fancy claim. There are so many other places with much better food that don't make claims to be more than what they are. read more

I was just looking for a quick place to grab breakfast and came across Phebie's what a great find! The food was delicious, with generous portions that could easily fill you up (the plates are seriously huge). The service was impressively fast, and our server was attentive and on top of everything. It's a small, cozy café with a homey ambiance that makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. While the seating could use a bit of an update, the overall experience was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a hearty breakfast! read more

My husband and I have been to may restaurants but nothing like this one the service is great, the people are friendly and the food is ti die for. We have driven by this place many times, never stop until today. We are glad we did. There's no wait time, and the waiter Luis was very friendly. We highly recommend everyone to come and experience the great service and best food you could eat. Definitely come back for all the different foods they have on the menu. read more

The owner recently graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, in the pigs butt. Our waitress out was out to lunch. or the light were on but nobody was home. These people try to drive customers away.
