On Tuesday, 1/17/17, after running a number of diagnostics on my wife's MacBook, I concluded that the hard drive was shot. It wasn't the end of the world since we're meticulous about backing up our data. Nonetheless, I needed to have the hard drive replaced. I was going to take it to the Apple Store, but the reviews I read about their charges encouraged me to find another option. Unfortunately, in the Lancaster, PA area there aren't a whole lot of options for Mac computer repairs. Then, I remembered that one of my sons took his iMac to have a hard drive replaced at Pham Computers and was entirely satisfied. So, I contacted them and they said yes they would replace the hard drive in my MacBook even though they're primarily a PC shop. So, I stopped by on Wednesday to drop of the laptop and spoke to Zach who was very helpful. Much to my pleasant surprise, I was contacted later that day and they told me that the drive was replaced and as (gratis) bonus they would image the data on my old hard drive and copy it to the new drive potentially saving me some time in doing a TimeMachine restore. I received a call the following day to say they were successful in saving all of my data and that the computer was ready for pick up -- WOW, A 24 HR. TURNAROUND!! Went to the orange and black guys and couldn't even get an appt. that worked for three days. These guys fixed in about 2 minutes a wireless connectivity issue that was making me crazy (nearly invisible switch on the side of the laptop, not the front as all the You Tubes, etc, said). I wanna give a huge shout out to Pham Computers. I have an external hard drive that has every single picture I've ever taken of my kids saved on it. Totally unprofessional in every way ! Took $60 fee up front and did not look at my computer in a timely manner as promised. They are closed on weekends, and yes, if it rains ! Owner and associate were totally unprofessional, they renamed my computer "Junk PC" They had no right to cast judgments , I had important info stored on my hard drive which I needed. They do not return calls, they want to sell you their rebuilt computers, this is the second bad experience Ive had with them ! Avoid These people !!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a computer from Pham Computers a few years ago. Before that first year was up, my computer was ruined by lightning. I have to admit it was my own fault not unplugging the computer during a lightning storm. I was a tad bit confident. Well, I really needed my computer, so I took it in to Pham Computers to get it fixed. When it was ready, I was worried about how much I had to pay for the repair. I am blown away by the way the owner went out of his way to personally assist me and give me insight on what I needed to start my own small business. I am clueless with anything related to computers. I told him what I was wanting to do on a laptop. He immediately had a solution and found me the right laptop for my startup. I found the prices to be BEYOND reasonable. I needed things taken from a drive of my computer when the computer was already disassembled and they were able to take the old material and add it to my laptop!! How divine indeed!!
