It's becomes more obvious with each service I have performed by a PFM technician, that they exclusively employ *professionals*. One would like to believe all skilled laborers are indeed that, skilled, but unfortunately in reality that is not always the case. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that a repair place that works on primarily on fleets (the F in PFM in case you missed that too) would provide superior services over traditional repair shops, but surprised I was nevertheless (even after noting that EVERY technician that walked past the service counter, during my visit, had no less than two master certifications on their uniform)! I consider myself fortunate to have found an auto mechanic I can reliably trust to, not only *perform* the repairs I need, and do so well, but more importantly give me consistently accurate diagnoses. I personally find the accurate assessment the most invaluable as it avoids both unnecessary repairs/expenses as well as return visits. This is now my go to spot - "fleet" quality repairs at relatively/comparably "layman" prices - it's an obvious choice for me! read more

So I took my 2011 gmc terrain then them about a month ago cuz it didnt have heat. They ended up replacing water pump and radiator. 2k mite i add. Notice a noice in noise in motor about 2 days later. Took it to different shop. Its the timming chain maken noise. Now why woukdnt you tell me about that to start with it gonna need time chain im so pisses right now I coukd spit fire!!!!!!!! As a mechanic I didnt wanna do the job so I took it to someone. You woukd see that its gonna need this. There labor rate is expensive jesus. We've taken our cars here for quite a while and the work and service has always been top-notch. The last time we stopped in was to get our older SUV checked over before a road trip. Sadly, they found that the rear subframe is starting to rust extensively. (We love this SUV and this'll probably be it's eventual coffin nail) When we went to pick it up, Frank (I believe) was done for the day and walking to his car. Instead of just leaving, he took the time to pull it back into a bay to show us where the future trouble spots will likely be. He was done for the day and didn't need to do that, but it was so much more informative that just knowing the rear subframe is rusting. I was looking through some papers for my RV, and I came across my PFM estimate, an experience that still haunts me years later. Figured I'd share my tale of woe with one of the shadiest mechanic shops I've ever come across. Here goes: I'm on the road driving my RV across country and I have a cracked exhaust manifold. Bad news, I know. So I call PFM knowing I have to stop in Indy anyway. They say they can replace my exhaust manifold without a problem. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the shop. I had to have it towed (awful call, as these guys must've been licking their chops). Anyway, I leave my RV with them for an estimate. Ask them to check the rear brakes, fuel and cooling system as well. This is when it all falls apart, and the vultures strike: To begin, they stall on the estimate, knowing I have a flight booked out of town. Then, they break the news: their "services" will cost me over $10000. After I picked myself up off the floor, I started combing through the estimate and saw that they were also jacking the parts prices by 100-500%. Nice margins, right? It was also pretty insane the parts that "needed replacement". A thermostat housing? Wha? $130? Wha? How about $400 labor to replace 4 shocks? Sound right to you? How about a carburetor for $800? Um. Don't think so, PFM. So once I realized I was being outright conned, I figured I'd move on. Not so fast, they said. How about our $500 "estimate fee"? Yes. I just wrote that. The problem here is that they basically would not allow me to take my vehicle back until I paid their little ransom. Knowing I didn't have the time, I reluctantly paid them. Thus ends the most experience with the most fraudulent, practically criminal mechanic shop in existence. If you're still considering them after reading this review, you, ahem, probably are going to get what you deserve. We now return you to your regular scheduled program... Oh, I'd just like to note that in the review comment, John N suggests that I wanted work for free. Problem is that PFM NEVER DID ANY WORK FOR ME! They just lined me up for what they thought would be a "big haul", and when I saw through their fraudulent tactics, they held my vehicle hostage. read more

Went to this location to get an oil change and they made the process quick and painless. I was told that it would take about 35 minutes but was closer to an hour. I didn't mind this though because they had a sitting area and a tv that I could flip through while I waited. The staff was friendly and as far as I can tell they did an awesome job. When my car was ready they pulled it up to the front door so once i left my car would be right there. This is a great place and I will go to them again if the need ever arises. read more

I was in the city for the Gen Con convention. Yeah, I'm a nerd. What of it? My van started having issues at the hotel. It was a friday so I was worried I would not be able to easily find a place to help me so last minute. Luckily I discovered PFM was nearby and had late, and Saturday hours. AAA managed to get my car started and I drove it PFM a few miles away. Dave at the counter was very helpful and got me on my way. They also drove me back to the convention center so I could get to the booth while they fixed my van. It was done the same day and I was able to pick it up that night. They called me when they found the problem, told me what needed to be done, and even called back when they found another issue. I have a feeling it was a bit more expensive than my local shop, but they were super professional, and got me up and running the same day. Unfortunately all the stress of being stranded in another city during a nerd convention got me sick with a head cold, but I am pretty sure PFM had nothing to do with that. read more

I took my car to PFM to be serviced after my clutch went out. There were some concerns on my side about their pricing and wanting to take out my transmission to see if it was the clutch. I ended up taking my car to another service center, but the staff were friendly, I had open communication with the mechanic, and they followed up with me to see if there was anything they could have done to make my experience better. I truly appreciate their efforts to remedy the situation. read more

Had a good experience with pfm on Hanna. Came to have the exhaust checked out due to car making a louder noise at startup. Turns out this was due to rusted out flanges. I was given very honest repair options i.e. I could have factory replacements through pfm but it would run over a grand or I could go to a nearby muffler shop and have just that segment replaced (this involves cutting out the rusted out part and having a pipe fitted). I was surprised and impressed with their honesty. I would definitely come back if I needed any repairs. read more

Took my car in to get it repaired at 8pm and it was completed later that evening. They diagnosed the issue correctly. One other place had already misdiagnosed the problem and the explanation seemed flawed. Not PFM, they explained the issue and why it behaved the way it did. This place was a nightmare, avoid it at all costs if you aren't a local. I had to have my whole front end rebuild after an accident and as a AAA customer I was supposed to get faster service, but it took them 4 days to even get me a quote for repairs. I was living in Indy as an intern and so I had out of state plates, they must have noticed that and tried to yank me around because I was told "this is going to cost $2000 in just parts, and about $1500 more in labor." I called BS and took my car to another shop in Greenwood where they charged me $900 for the whole rebuild. Don't let these guys screw you over, because if they think you're stranded in Indy they will most likely try to do it. I'd never trust a shop that would try some stuff like that. read more

I found staff very knowledgeable and courteous. They were very quick to get my car in and inspected while letting me know of other future needed repairs. I also liked the fact they are a Napa service center and warranty repairs if needed could be done at any Napa service center across the country. Will always take my car back there for service. read more

I came here becuase we got a flat tire on the interstate and this is what AAA recommended. They took a long time to service our car, did not give us estimate or update. We explained that our tire became flat and busted due to cold weather and they did not check and air up other tires. We brought the car back to get the rest taken care of right after, they walked off before finishing talking with us and talked to us in a rude manner. They also refused to give us the discount that AAA said they would. read more

I was recommended to PFM, by a friend. I could not have been happier with my overall experience. From the knowledgeable friendly staff, Kevin, Frank and Jason. To the quality of my repair, I felt really good about how everything was explained and upfront! I needed multiple repairs, tires, tuneup and a water pump. They handled it all. Stopped in for a check engine light on my semi truck, thought it might be a oil pressure sensor . They changed it and I believe was way over charged. Ten miles down the road same problem pops up. I'm at a truck dealer facing a new oil pump. So much for them knowing what there doing read more

Never and I mean NEVER take anything here. We've had nothing but problems everytime we have to take a delivery truck in. And they charge outrageous for their services. They've had our truck for 2 weeks now. When we were told it would be done within the same week we brought it. We took it in on a Tuesday, were supposed to have to back by the weekend. Well it's about 2 weeks later and still no truck. We call and they say it will be done by tomorrow. So tomorrow comes and there is a new problem they had to fix and it will be done the following day. Well it's still not done. This is unbelievable. We will never return our business there. It was convenient because his company had an account through them. But not anymore. We've had to waste a ton of money on rentals because of these jokes. Then to tell me that they didn't break our truck. Screw them! read more
