this is for their grooming department only. so the first time i took my dog there everything was fine, his cut looked good and i was satisfied. the service was with janda. the second time i booked with janda. the day of my appointment i saw that they changed the groomer to someone else who did a terrible job with my dog and also charged me almost 100 dollars for a bad cut. i didnt like how they changed the groomer without asking first or notifying me. TODAY, i had a cut booked with janda once again. i check to see the time of the appointment and saw that the deluxe was added to getting the basic cut, once again, without asking me. so i called and said that i didn't add that and i wanted to know what it was. the lady on the phone put me on hold and then told me that "janda said she will take off the deluxe for today but moving forward the deluxe will be standard and if you're not okay with that you can look somewhere else." mind you! no one even told me what the deluxe was. how are you going to add a service and not explain what the service is? i said say less and cancelled my appointment, which is really unfortunate. i recommend taking your pup elsewhere. this place did nothing but waste my time and money. read more

My daughter did all her research and made the big decision to be a responsible hamster caretaker.. She had set up his cage, but still needed food, a few supplies... and of course ..her new buddy! The person who met us in the small pet section was SO kind and patient with my daughter! She was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with about hamster care and their personalities. She helped us find everything we needed. They had adorable and healthy looking hamsters to choose from, but due to an adoption event happening, they only had dwarf hamsters remaining and my daughter preferred a Syrian. The gal suggested we call Fairfield PetSmart and sure enough...we found her new pal! He's healthy, sweet and so much fun. The employees at that PetSmart were equally helpful. Stopped by the store tonight after driving 40 mins since they were the only ones that had my cats prescription food in stock, and for one I've never been asked for my physical prescription card before they can just look up my previous transaction and sale me the food. Well I came to the register and guy at register said I can't sale you the food without a card or picture, then another associate Savanah comes up after I find the picture with a horrible attitude and said no I can not sale you the food because you might be a scammer, I need the actual card. I asked why she said it's a new policy that was implemented 2 months ago, I said well a month ago you sold it to me without the card she said well "you shouldn't have waited until the last minute" then I got upset and got an attitude back. I asked for her district managers name or number she said I don't have one and you're just going to have to wait until the morning, again with a sassy horrible attitude. Even her coworker looked at her in all when she told me I should not have waited until last minute to come in. First of, this was the only store that had bearded dragons available that day so travelling to this location was totally an effort. We got a beardie somewhere else but we had to return him as he possessed some kind of a lethargic behavior and won't eat at all and according to some people might have had some infectious disease and the store (not this one) failed to disclose it.. So we wanted to get a new one to replace him, we went to this location and saw 5 different beardies but what caught our attention was the Red Morph which was unusual and unique.. We talked to a woman with short hair and told us she'd attend to us, but we waited for 30 mins, people come and go, long line at 1 register and people were all everywhere , didn't know if they will get help or not.. Another 30 mins gone by and still we were there standing.. Until there was a huge drama involving customers and a cashier , shouting yelling like watching a full episode of a drama series...After 2 hrs finally we got attended to by Francesca.. She was very apologetic and helpful too for the very long wait... The other cashier if I remember it right her name starts with a letter J for Janda or Janad something wasn't too helpful.. She rejected 2 of our approaches for service and kinda rude she doesn't need to be in the front for poor customer service.. She just wanted to play with dogs that come in and out with her top hysterical voice only to calm and look nice to the people who had issues with another cashier but as soon as we approached her she squirmed her face and gave us to people at the front who know something about animals... First of all, you work in a pet store and you know nothing about animals? And second of all, you said talk to the people at the cash register as they know more and seconds later you were running the register, does that mean you were one of the registers yet you refused our service? The one who was let go from her job (short hair) was even friendlier, more knowledgeable and helpful than you.. This unhelpful staff along with our long wait was the reason of 1 star rating... Given our travel to get our pet, this staff was inconsiderate.. And this store has the worst customer service.. Come in with a sun and come out with a moon. Anyway, we brought home our new beardie.. My pets have been long time customers of Pet Smart in Vacaville. The experiences lately have been absolutely awful. They used to provide good service and good customer service and were gentle with the pets. On the last two interactions I witnessed the groomer combing my dogs tail and it hurt him so bad he just cried and yelped until I walked in and put a stop to it and I don't recall the groomers name because they change so much. Yesterday I had my husband drop off our dog and Janda was very unprofessional and she lacks customer service skills, I was very surprised and was overheard saying something derrogatory about my dog . In fact the interaction felt kind of racial and very off putting when you have three people check a dog for no reason. We will not be bringing our dogs back there ever again, we are done here. read more

Terrible grooming experience. Firstly, they charge $30 more than Petco's grooming department and do a terrible job. Made an appointment to drop off my dog at 1:30. Called at 4:30 to see if I could pick her up because I had to leave for work and they said they had just started her.. meaning she was in a kennel for 3 hours while they were grooming other dogs. When I picked her up, the girl handed me their report card brochure that is supposed to tell you how their coat, teeth, etc. look and it was completely blank. Worthless. Upon inspection the cut is totally uneven and there are mats behind her ears that they never trimmed. A waste of $100. read more

This review is specifically for the grooming department. I've been taking my Trixie girl here for a few years now, it's the only place she's been, and for a good reason. Her name is Carla. I get the leash out, she's all wags & smiles. We get into the car, still happy. Trixie, likes most dogs, loves to go "bye-bye." She's a happy girl until we get into the parking lot. That's where the shaking starts. We go into Petsmart, she'll walk along until we get back to the "salon." Rrrr... She hits the breaks! In we go, and there's Carla, always greeting us with a smile. She is sweet & gentle. I know Trixie is in good hands. Trixie is a little Yorkie-Scottish Terrier mix. Her hair can get quite long. She's kept clean in between her appointments, but like most girls, she does need to go in for some routine "maintenance." Carla always listens to what I want & delivers! They have an "express" option, which is what I always book. She takes approximately an hour and a half and works on Trixie from nose to tail! She's always so smooth & soft when I pick her up! With a bow in her hair & a little " perfume" she is too adorable! There's always a "pawgress report" at the end to let you know the condition in which they find your pet & information on what services were performed. She struts around after, so proud! Eating up all the attention, then she gets to choose a new toy. Trixie is my fur baby, so she is well taken care of. I appreciate Carla & her work, so I always tip her. I can't praise Raquel (trainer) & Candace (Groomer) enough! Both are fantastic ladies! Roxy (our GSD) has been going to Candace for grooming since she was a little pup and loves her! She was the first person to ever bathe her and we definitely trust her with our pup! She's so gentle and really cares about the dogs! Roxy has been going to Raquel's intermediate training class for the last few weeks and loves it! Raquel has not only taught Roxy new things but us as well! Had a $50 grooming appointment for my 7month old chu-winnie at 8am. We arrived at 8am and were made to wait outside in 41 degree weather for 10 minutes meanwhile a female worker in the front was watching us stand outside and didn't come to open the door for us. (it was locked. Store opens at 9am but the grooming part is open at 8am) She only came to open the door when a WHITE man was trying to leave so she had no choice but to let us in for our appointment. Upon leaving, we walked past the same worker (short-stout female with dyed hair) who, by this time was accompanied by a young male worker. They both watched us try to leave but when we got to the front door it was locked. I turned around to ask the workers to open the door and saw that they were still watching us and refused to come open the door. At which point I pushed open the emergency door in the front so that I could leave. I'm never spending my money here EVER again. RACIST WORKERS!! read more

The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is the standard assortment of fish, birds, gerbils etc., as well as the plethora of accutriments to attend to the need of ANY animal you might own! Because it's been REALLY hot lately we purchased some booties for the pups so their feet won't burn on long walks. We'll see how this goes. I'll give my son credit, he used old socks and electrical tape as an impromptu fix so I'm hoping "official booties" won't be an issue. From friends I have been told that if any kind of long rest is involved, like you walk to eat with your pooch, take the booties off so they can cool down. We also picked up a foldable water bowl to go into the doggie backpack OR a back pocket. We shall see how this goes over. If I could give no stars I would. Came in early Saturday morning to drop off my two boys for a bath and furminator. When I am checking them in - I am assuming it is one of the groomers - a girl with a face tattoo says about one of my boys "he's not getting a bath today." She proceeds to tell me that his undercoat is pelted and he needs to be shaved around his neck. I told her it brushes out with the furminator at home which is why I booked it with the furminator service. She said it may brush out with a groomer but it would take at least 5 hours. So rather than spending the time, which I am willing to pay for, I get a lazy persons response that it just should be shaved. I obviously didn't leave my other boy there for his groom. I brought my boy home and it is brushing out just fine, which as a side note it took an hour and he just loves to be brushed he lays down and relaxes, so it isn't a fight. Never again will I bother going to a big box retailers grooming service. I'll find a professional. read more

The energy there gave my dog serious anxiety. Then, when I picked up my dog his haircut was terrible. It was uneven, and shaved in strange areas. If i could rate this no stars i would. I scheduled an appointment for my dog to get a full bath and trim (emphasis on trim) when i walked in both the ladies had major attitudes. Especially the lady with black hair in a bun who was answering phone calls. They were talking about how they weren't going to take a client because she didn't feel like it. I told them specifically she has sensitive skin and I only wanted her to have a TRIM. I wanted to keep her curls, tail and leg hair long. Literally just a small trim. They started on her at 9:10 and called me at 9:36 and told me my dog was ready... i went to pick her up and her cut was absolutely terrible!! It was extremely choppy/blunt. They cut off all my dogs hair off that I specifically told them i wanted to keep w/ only a trim. The ladies even lied saying "I said and confired with them to have that hair cut off" when i most definitely didnt! They were terrible back there. Below i left before and after pics. For adoption. We were horrified by how filthy their litter boxes were. One kitten obviously had an upset stomach. It was disgusting. We felt so sorry for the kittens. Horrible service. I took my fog for grooming and bath. They didn't do right job. They just spray little bit water on it, and did not brushed, didn't dry it. My dog allover was in his own hair which had to be removed and cleaned. Also without my authorization they gave my dog some snack and she has been in diarrhea for 6 days. Took both my furbabies here two weeks ago paid $104 for both of them with upgraded grooming pacakges. biggest waste of money. 4 days after their appointment one of my girls anel glands started smelling I was in shock as anel gland expression is with the basic kit. ***This review is for the grooming department*** We've been coming here monthly for 2 years with our 2 dogs. We have a Berner and a Swissy. They are a little under 100lb each. We get the furminator bath, brush out and grooming. We've always been happy with the job done. The only time we weren't was last month when there was a miscommunication and for some reason our Swissy got a bath, but not the furminator or brush out. He didn't smell very good, he was still very damp and shedding all over. The reason for the star missing is not because of the groomers abilities. It's because of their lack of support from the corporation. They are booked a minimum of two weeks out, which is why we book our next appointment before we leave. But they don't hire more groomers to support the demand. Booking online is extremely difficult via the mobile website. They have a new-ish system where you can receive a confirmation text of your appointment, but it's not always accurate. Last time we went in I had a verbal of 7/6 @12, a text for 7/6 @8 and was in the computer for 7/4 @8&12, we would never take an 8a appointment because I live 20min from town have two kids that I drop off at school @9, my grooming appointment is always after 9a. Also, they groomers are so slammed that they cannot call the day before to confirm appointments. When you miss one, like we did on 7/4, they do not call and say "hey, where are you?" When I showed up at noon on 7/6 like I was told on the phone I was told this was not a new problem and that they would fit in my beasts. As always when they were done they looked great. But due to all the confusion the last two months I will be taking my dogs to Pawsh, as a local business owner I'm choosing to support a local business owner. read more

This PetSmart is Huge. I was just passing through town on my way home from Tahoe killing some time while my wife was in some of the other shops nearby. I recently started up an aquarium and so I was interested to see what kind of fish they had here and to my surprise they had a huge selection of both freshwater and seawater fish I was also very surprised if they had a bunch of shrimp I've been very fascinated with the different breeds of shrimp I think they're amazing and cute and fun to watch and low maintenance. my newborn also had a really good time watching the fish the mice and the guinea pigs. I was asked multiple times if I needed help very friendly clean and as I mentioned they had a ton of things. read more
