They had the dog in and out in a few hours and successfully trimmed her long nails which has been difficult in the past and with others who have attempted to cut them. This would be a third groomers here in Davis for us, like they always say a third times a charm. Read great reviews about this place so I decided to give them a try. Sir Bear is a young white English cream retriever. we end up having random selection for the groomer. The groomer we ended up with was named Diana . She was very patient and sweet with us and we explained everything about him and what happened with his last traumatic experience at a groomers. we kissed our boy goodbye, and dropped him off for three hours, and picked them up when they called us. He went to the in for a full bath and brush. he looks happy, super clean and fluffy when he came out. we will definitely be back here again to get him groomed. They are very professional here highly recommended. read more

Let me say this... OMG this team rocks on a completely different level !!! I noticed they were more sweet with the dogs than I've ever noticed at other groomers, however OMG (again) my dogs have NEVER EVER looked BeTTER! In fact I never had a clue they could look this amazing !! My husky has always had an undercoat that in constantly shedding. Normally when I have him groomed his hair is falling all over and I wonder why the heck I took him in. Well this time! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! He's gorgeous !!!!! I had a bad experience the last time I visited, June 5, 2025. When I picked my sweet girl up, she had a gash above her right eye, which the groomer didn't explain. She also had a purple bruise by her anus, also, unexplained. When we got home, I noticed that her nails weren't cut properly cut and felt jagged and rough. In addition, she was extremely itchy and scratched herself so hard on the back of her neck, she opened a wound that was bloody. I had asked for Hypoallergenic shampoo, because last time she got brown spots all over her back. The last issue was probably due to the shampoo used. All that said, I won't be bringing her back to Sydnees. read more

Our groomer in Woodland moved out of state. We decided to try Sydnee's in Davis for our 62 lb. basset hound's nail trim. They were very professional and her nails were expertly trimmed. In fact, unlike so many places, they actually trimmed them short enough that we won't have to come back for a long while, which I appreciate. I arrived on time for my noon appointment, our dog was taken right into the grooming area and they finished in just a few minutes while I waited in the lobby. It seems immaculate inside. From what I could see of the grooming room the dogs being trimmed looked calm and happy. I would recommend making an appointment because they appear busy and I suspect have a growing loyal clientele. We found easy parking in a lot a block away on G Street. I did not catch the name of the groomer who trimmed her nails, but when we exchanged pleasantries at the counter she said she was a UC Davis student majoring in animal science. I brought my dog here four times and will never be back! The first couple times were good and he was completely fine after but the fourth time he must've been groomed by someone else because he became very different. He was a very happy excitable pup and after his last groom here, he shakes uncontrollably whenever we go outside. He gets so nervous around people and this breaks my heart because he used to love meeting new people. It's hard to go outside with him and to even take him on walks. I am so sad. I hesitated in writing this review I did not want to harm this business but because others wrote similar things, I feel like this needs to be addressed. Clearly, not all the groomers here are bad because he was fine after his first three visits but the fourth one was the final blow for us. It has been several months since Murphy's final groom here but he still gets very anxious outside. He now has to take anti anxiety medicine. There is no other explanation for his behavior because it was directly after his last groom that he became like a different dog. There was nothing else in his/our routine that was different before his groom and he completely changed right after. Do NOT bring your dog here :( read more

NO DISABILITY ACCESS!!! My cat is trimmed, and came home in a good mood, so the groomer did a good job with him. However, I will never go to Sydnee's Pet Grooming ever again. They have the worst possible location in downtown regarding parking (street parking only is on a cross street and very limited, so potentially problematic even if you aren't disabled). To add injury to injury if you're mobility disabled, they have no chairs in their reception area. When I suggested they might want to put out a couple chairs in case anyone disabled decides to brave the parking situation, I was told I was not the first person to suggest it, and they do have chairs, but the manager doesn't want them in the reception area. So, Sydnee's Pet Grooming is apparently doing everything legally possible to discourage disabled people from patronizing their business. It worked. I won't be back. They weren't worth the trouble and blatant disregard. read more

Alyssa did such a beautiful job for my pup, Honeydew. He is a golden retriever mix. I got the full styling and she was very patient and kind to my anxious boy. She asked for my shampoo preference and was attentive to my request regarding his trim. He is so soft, clean, and smells amazing. The whole appointment took ~2.5 hours. First I'd like to say My cockapoo is not the easiest to work with, she is very anxious & very spoiled. Took her to every place in Fairfield and Vacaville and have always gotten a bad result due to her being difficult to groom. Was recommended here by clients from work & decided out of desperation to take the 45 min drive and come here. Was greeted by Majesty & she is very kind and polite! She was the one who groomed our cockapoo. Bella had a couple mattes due to us not being able to get her groomed correctly but Majesty took care of her and was extremely patient through all the difficulties! Even after all that, she still greeted us with a smile and was very understanding of our little Bella. Overall 5/5, would definitely recommend coming here! I took my cat here to have her ears cleaned and nails trimmed. Jun was very quick to respond to emails and also called me to let me know that the quick and fresh treatment didn't include teeth brushing for cats. My cat hates when I touch her paws so off to the groomer we went. They socially distance and wear masks, theres a giant bottle of hand sanitizer for guests to use. The groomer made quick work of my cat's nails and even noticed that she had some matting (struggles of a medium hair cat). Would totally recommend their services! I brought my pocket bully here! He's about 9 yrs old and has never been to a groomers. I never thought I needed to bc he's short haired, but I was wrong. The bath tub washes never really got him clean and he hated being dried off by the towel so he usually dried on his own. Which meant he always smelled! WARNING: Do NOT bring your dog here for grooming. Worst experience ever! My easy-going dog went here because we live in Davis and we figured we would give it a try from our normal place that we go to in Woodland. After one visit to Sydnee's my dog looked terrible! Ridiculous real. Hair grow back so no big deal we thought. We went back to our regular place in Woodland and now our dog shakes uncontrollably and was so traumatized by whatever happened at Sydnee's. Her regular groom who is a sweetheart said what happened to her? Who did this to her she was never like this before. As a result it took at least 10 visits to our regular place in Woodland for our dog to feel slightly more comfortable. Not sure what happened at Sydnee's, but this is a very unprofessional place and I would stay clear of it! Not the only one as we meet 2 people at a Davis dog park who's dogs had the same experience. We were glad to share the business name in Woodland and worth the drive. If your dog is part of your family do not take them here. read more

Took our German Shepard here since it's closer to where we live. Timber (our dog) had always seen one other lady his whole life so I was little nervous but they said he was a good boy and they did a great job. I took my 20 month old pomsky, Rocky, here yesterday and Alyssa did an excellent job. He got the full treatment (bath, haircut, nail trim, etc.) and we were very happy with the results. He's a little choppy in a couple places but I think that's to be expected with a young dog and a rather thick undercoat. Overall, he came home looking and smelling fantastic.
