While I really hate how petsmart and petco treat their fishes and birds (keeping them in small confined spaces), I did need to get my pup groomed here a few times and they did amazing with her each time. The groomers at this petsmart are so nice and in particular we really love Hanan (I think that's her name? Hopefully I spelled it right.) She's been absolutely incredible with our dog each time and is so patient and so gentle with her. If you go to this place to get your pup groomed, I believe they'll be in very good hands. read more

Beware going to the grooming salon here. Sadly it was our turn for the groomers to injure our dog. My dog has been getting groomed for over a decade at PetSmarts across the country. Ever since we moved to the area, he's been consistently getting groomed here during the last 5 years. I will never know what really happened. I got a call that my dog was at the vet next door because of an "incident." I rushed over to find they sliced his ear. According to the manger on duty, my dog "moved." My dog is old. When I got there he was back with the groomers. I found they just put a bunch of glue to his wound. Although they treated my dog as soon as this incident occurred, requests for an incident report were ignored. I also attempted to follow up with the store manager following this incident and was never able to speak to him. We got a new PUPPY! Her name is Coco and she is a 9 months old SAMOYED. We have a total of 3 dogs or children now. We came here to get her some food, supplies and training information... This is where I go to get my guinea pigs and small animals. I also get the meal worms for my lizards here. I get very small fish sometimes for my turtles. The staff in the store, not the grooming area are very nice but its just really expensive here. I think they have a lot of reptiles and cute animals but their other stuff like dog food and toys and supplies are so much cheaper elsewhere. I had a terrible experience with the grooming department of this store, which caused me to never shop here anymore unless my husband was by the neighborhood needing lizard food. The grooming section is terrible here, as one groomer made me feel like a terrible owner. My dog likes to play and run around in my huge backyard. She will sometimes get thorns and foxtails but I try my best to get them out, and if i cant ill bring her to the groomers. However, this time, the groomer told me i especially needed medical intervention bc the thorns were deep into her skin. She said it in a way to me where it insinuated i neglected her. She said it in such a condescending way like i was a BAD owner. It saddened me so deeply i almost had tears in my eyes. I felt so bad as I thought my dog was actually suffering. I took my baby to the vet and the vet told me, "your groomer wasted your time" my vet told me my groomer made me feel guilty for no reason. The vet said she was fine and just care for her normally. I didn't have to bring her when i could have just taken the thorns out myself. I really love my dogs as family. Making me feel guilty like that was not cool. Recently that same dog ate a ball, and unfortunately jumped in a way where it tangled her intestines into a knot. She couldn't pass the ball out. My dog was a free rescue. She costed me nothing, but this surgery to get the ball out of her intestines cost me 5k. Which 5k is a lot of money that 90% of people will not shell out. I take care of my dog the best I can, so I'll always remember how this groomer made me feel. That's actually the reason why this petsmart gets a 1. After exploring different options, we decided to try the beginner doggie classes for our then 5 month old lab. It was a six week class that gave me an opportunity to better understand ways to nip unwanted behaviors and practice some of the tips at the store. I would highly recommend Marla! She was able to offer timely feedback and she was very patient with our high energy dog Taro. By the end of class, Taro (my pup) was able to stay focused throughout the class, follow basic commands, and was even loose leash walking like a pro. Granted, we still need more practice with manners around other dogs and people, the six week growth is undeniable :) Something to consider for other pet parents- they even offer a free in person assessment of your dog to better guide you which class is a better fit. Our overall experience was very positive. Even the other associates were welcoming and made us more confident when bringing in our bundle of energy. read more

Took my 4-year old healthy Brittany spaniel in for a groom, while speaking to groomer, my dog collapsed. Hanan, groomer, noticed it immediately & carried him few steps to in-store vet (Banfield?), he could not be revived. He was being worked on less than 30 seconds from collapse. I want to thank Hanan for immediate action, nurse Doria, the vet (so sorry no name), & other staff that dropped everything to help. He did not suffer as it appears he died in front of the groomer. I am so thankful & grateful to PetSmart & whoever runs the groom section. Nurse Doria informed me that PetSmart & Banfield (?) will pick up ALL costs. God bless our pets. According to reports on the Internet, this breed can collapse & die from heart valve stenosis. From a layman's perspective, this means the heart valves are not in coordination, with one or more heart valves becoming rigid. read more

I bought a cat tree from here two days ago and it sticks so bad , my poor cat got sticky from it. My whole living room stinks.

I've come here about 5 times in the past but I won't be coming back. First and foremost, my dog is an extremely gentle golden retriever and not hard to groom at all. She loves people, goes in public every day, and is not easily spooked. I have groomed her myself in the past but I have to pay for the service now after a neck injury made it too hard for me to bend over her like that. Last time I came, I dropped my dog off at her grooming and then didn't hear back from them for 4 hours when they'd told me they would call me. I went over there to see what was going on, and when I arrived, they told me they hadn't started my dog. So they finished up and THEN started my dog. What was the purpose of me making the appointment then? When I finally got my dog, she was absolutely terrified, her nails were not clipped at all, and I didn't receive the extra items I had paid for (there was a Halloween promotion that they upsold me on). I vowed not to go back. I hadn't been there for about a year, but I noticed my dog really needed her feet clipped, nails trimmed, and she had some tiny poop specks in her tail so I decided to take her in. I wrote this in the online portal, and I booked her a bath for $45 that included paw grooming (they no longer offered pawdicures). Dropped her off, explained again about the paws and poop in the tail by literally lifting my dog's tail to show them, and the (different than last time) person said 1.5-2 hours and that they would call me when my dog was ready. I never heard from them after 2 hours so I popped in and picked her up. I was not about to let my dog slip through the cracks like last time. I was charged $50 without explanation after having booked a $45 service. Paid it, tipped $15, got my dog, left. When I got home I looked at my dog and saw what's in these pictures. These pictures are from AFTER the grooming, and they let me pick her up like this. None of her paws had been groomed and she still has all of the poop specks in her tail. That was the entire purpose of me bringing her in. So really the endeavor was useless and a total waste of $65. I will never be back. read more

This PetSmart really sucks. All of the girls in the grooming salon have no customer service they don't greet you or say hi how are you or nothing. They're always cold, distant and very unwelcoming. The second time today I went to go in and use it and the manager didn't know what yelp even was neither did the cashiers and stated that since there was no barcode on Yelp, he couldn't give me my 20% off coupon, which is outrageous. How does the management and other staff members not know what coupons are out there for their store?? The grooming salon always really rushes the cleaning of my dogs. I had brought my pug here for at least 10 years to get haircuts until she passed away. Today I made an appointment to bring my new pug in for a haircut. I was so excited to get him a spring haircut, I think pugs look so cute with short hair and it keeps the shedding issue at bay. First off, I waited for ten minutes after my appointment time to be checked in. Patiently waited while other people who arrived after me were helped first. Second, once someone finally helped me, I was rudely told by Hanan: "He's booked for a haircut" to which I replied yes. And was told "we don't do haircuts for pugs because the hair doesn't grow back evenly". Which is flat out not true. I brought my pug here for YEARS for haircuts. So that's the first I've ever of heard this and also why wasn't I told this prior to showing up for my appointment? I marked his breed when I booked the appointment, if you weren't going to do the haircut, you should've let me know ahead of time. Also, I know exactly the appointment I booked and if his hair doesn't grow back evenly, all the more reason for me to come back and get him groomed again. Absolutely ridiculous. This PetSmart violates consumer and contract law. I purchased a dog bed for $39.99. I asked for both a physical and email receipt. Upon getting the bed home, I found it was slightly too large for the intended space, so went to return it three days later. The physical receipt showed that I paid $39.99 and also stated that the return price was $39.99. Nevertheless, the clerk refunded $33.99. He threw away my original receipt. Because I was in a hurry, I didn't notice the discrepancy until the following day. I took the return receipt and showed the cashier my email receipt. The cashier claimed that they treat returns differently, and that I could get only the sale price back, rather than the full price I paid. I pointed out the return price stated on the receipt. After more back and forth, the cashier finally tried to make the computer do the refund, but could not. He contacted the manager, who told him what to do. This did not work, even though he remained on the phone with the manager. This clerk seemed to have a meltdown. He left looking exasperated as the manager appeared. The manager also couldn't make the computer do what he wanted. He explained to me that their computer is set to refund the sale price only. I explained to him that it isn't legal when a customer presents a receipt stating the return price within their return window. They should have been able to override the computer. Finally he did a fake return to refund me the money. He then put this receipt directly in the trash. I asked him to give it to me, as PetSmart emails receipts for purchases only, not for returns. Everyone was very polite during this incident, but they never acknowledged that I was correct, and I felt they actually thought they were doing me a favor! So watch out if you are returning anything to PetSmart! read more

We live in a greedy corporate society that keeps on raising their prices and passing the buck to the consumer. And now, I have to rent a shopping cart should I make the mistake of making a large purchase at your store. I understand that I get the damn quarter back at the end of the transaction when I return my cart back to the store, but here's the problem. I always returned the cart. It's the right thing to do. But now you are charging me to use a shopping cart, so now I have to root thru my purse hoping to god that I have a quarter because we live in a cashless society. That's the problem. We do not use cash anymore, so I don't carry any spare change. So on the off chance that I have a big purchase, and I have to remember to bring a quarter with me to use a cart, rest assured that I'll leave that fucking shopping cart wherever I damn well please. This is for the grooming salon - I want to be clear that this review has no reflection on Tamara. She's wonderful, she does a great job grooming, and my dog always goes to her willingly (great sign). My issues with the last appointment have everything to do with other staff. I'm going to use a nail grinder at home and cut my dogs hair because this experience has been horrendous from start to finish. I tried scheduling the appointment online but I wasn't able to because it showed that Tamara had no available appointments ever. I looked all the way through December. I called to find out if she was still working there and to make an appointment if she was. Again, I would not drop my dog off with anyone but her. I've had bad experiences in the past with other people that work there and I wanted to make sure she didn't get stuck with any of them. (If anyone is able to pull calls for training, I suggest this one- June 19, 2023 at 2:19 pm.) When I called, the woman in the grooming salon told me that it was confidential whether or not Tamara had availability. I asked if I should come into the location to make the appointment as I only wanted my dog to see Tamara. She of course told me to book online, which then caused me to have to explain the issue with the app not showing anything for Tamara. It took some convincing, but eventually she told me that she had availability in two weeks on the Fourth of July. I couldn't get her name because she wouldn't give it. She didn't say that this was also confidential but just ignored me and proceeded to hang up after scheduling the appointment. I decided to keep that appointment, regardless of this interaction. The day of the appointment, I went to go and pick her up and a woman named Lily was working the front desk. After paying at the front of the store, I came back to show my receipt and collect my dog. In the past my dog has been carried to the front of the salon because there's always a lot of activity going on and she weighs only 5 pounds. This includes dogs, scrambling to get away from the hairdryers and large animals generally just not being able to stand up on the slick floor. But this time I guess Tamara was busy because Lily went back and got my dog and brought her to the front. Chaos ensued when a scared golden retriever was trying to get away from their groomer. Lily ran my dog right up on to him and then chastised her telling her "You have to wait!" I assume she thought I wouldn't hear her with all of the blow dryer's going, but she was wrong. Bottom line is I will never be going back to this grooming salon. I genuinely hope that Tamara goes and works somewhere else so that I can have her groom my dog again. The PetSmart application is still showing Tamara has no availability for the rest of the year, so this should be fixed. I think that Lilly may need some customer service training or a new profession because she looks angry, had no people skills, and yelled at my dog right in front of me. Whoever was working the phone on June 19, 2023 at 2:19 pm should probably be taught what the word confidential means and also needs customer service training. Tamara- we'll miss you read more

If I could give a ZERO, I would. I have been taking my dog here for 17 years and have been a loyal customer. Yesterday, I received a call from the groomer, regarding my dog's upcoming appointment, and she stated that because she was new, she felt uncomfortable grooming my dog because of her age and because past seizures (which is NOT true). There was ONE time I took my dog and they claimed she seized and that was not the case (confirmed by vet). She got over excited/anxious due to her age, which the groomer at the time also thought that may be the case. My dog is perfectly healthy. I even took my dog to get groomed here a couple month ago and NO issues - that groomer was great and not "uncomfortable". Anyway, this new groomer said she asked other groomers there if they could work on my pet and they said NO as well. So she referred me to a mobile groomer, who was a previous employee; basically saying that they no longer want my service because I have a senior dog. I will NO LONGER do business here and will refer the people I know to the mobile groomer (Maria). There is so much more I can say about Petsmart and things I have seen/heard in their grooming area. They need staff that wants to work, cares about all dogs, regardless of their age, and are customer service oriented. Oh and they have also cancelled many appointments because they are short staffed, don't feel good, etc. DO NOT BRING YOUR FUR BABIES HERE. read more

I recently got a golden retriever Hurley from my parents since they got a new job that required them to relocate and couldn't find a way to bring him along with them. I took him in to get groomed since he had been outside a lot on my parents property, and the groomer noticed something wrong with Hurley and gave us a call. We went back and they were able to immediately see Hurley at the Banfield vet in the Petsmart and figure out what was wrong, and the vet ran back from her lunch break to be able to see him! They were really helpful and gave Hurley great attention and helped us know what was going on with him. They provided us with medicine that's been helping him so much and we're now having him looked at by our local vet. They displayed phenomenal customer service and care to our dog. We're really thankful they brought this to our attention while helping us to managing it. read more

Check your receipt! I walked out and after reviewing my receipt I noticed I was charged for 12 extra cat cans of food, tall bald guy was struggling with my phone # he had to write it down, idiot!
